Same here. Always been a fan of the clear colored hair / clear eyed female protagonists. It's always a BIG PLUS when they happen to be secretive and very powerful.

I believe, even though they didn't say it yet in the anime, her name is Amira. And she's got a fan.

I got 3 anime girls this season :

- Amira (Shingeki no Bahamut).

- Elizabeth Liones (The Seven Deadly Sins). Love how Meliodas keeps "grabbing" her... and yet, she doesn't seem to mind.

- Chaika Trabant (Chaika the Coffin Princess). I can't wait to see her grown up, she's cute now. But I'm not that much into cute... yet, I still like her background. Wonder if someone made a fan art of her all grown up.

In any case, Shingeki no Bahamut is a blu-ray buy for me. I wonder if they'll do the same thing they did with the "Witchblade" or with "Rosario Vampire", add more nudity. Yeah I know, I'm a pervert. I remember that TV Witchblade transformation was censored, but on the blu-ray or DVD it was uncensored. Just like Rosario + Vampire... I mean you have the normal TV season 2 ending... and then you have the DVD / blu-ray season 2 ending.

I was talking about the game for one. As for the second point, as long as the show doesn't show any chick's boobs (like DxD and Queen's Blade) then, officially, anyone can watch it though the recommended age is still 13+.

Of course, that's only officially. Unofficially, all the otakus watch whatever they want beginning with the year they get interested in anime, and lately I've been seeing kids elementary school age (5-10) discussing anime that a few years ago, parents would never let kids their age watch.

Really, the only people you'll actually hear or see complaining about what's age appropriate are the people up in government positions or unions/organizations dedicated to the "proper welfare and education" of anyone who's under 18.

Well, at least on the East Coast of the US. I'm not sure about the West Coast or Central, but given that all anime conventions get bigger and bigger the closer you are to the Wesr Coast, with some exceptions, I'd generally say that applies over there as well.

This show has a lot of style and some gorgeous. If this holds up and the story follows, we may a winner on our hands. It's impossible to judge the quality on the writing on this episode alone, so it was mostly introductory. Nothing stood out in a bad way at least, so that's a good sign.

I feel like Mappa has been the one studio to consistently impress me with it's output and general art quality of late. They're bringing some influences and techniques to TV anime I haven't seen for a quite a while and in some cases ever really. That was fun and this feels like one of those shows that blends Eastern and Western influences which has been a bit of a staple of Keichii Satou before since he seems to draw a lot of influence from Western superheroes yet his work still feels distinctly Japanese in the long run. The type of humor in this show is of the rare kind in anime that crosses cultural boundaries nicely too, lot of visual humor and the like which this season I've only really seen elsewhere in G-Reco. I don't know what it is but there's this tendency for a lot of anime to have really talky word pun humor and quips between seiyuu that drone on for a while and are of the in-joke variety that only anime fans or Japanese people will ever get so it's nice to see something operating on a level beyond that.

As for the action, very dynamic. I have to wonder just how crazy powerful Amira actually is though since it didn't even really seem like she was putting any significant effort into the fight yet she manage to pin this huge monster to the ground literally using just one finger. It seems she might have made Favaro into a demon too so I wonder what that means for him. Can he finally escape from Kaisar now and what becomes of Kaisar and his awesome hair cut. Actually the hair in this show is just awesome in general which is another part of the visual style and humor I like. Just really great stuff, this could very well be my favorite premiere of the season to date and this might be controversial but I think it trumps just about anything else in visuals including the big shot shows like Fate, Amagi and G-Reco. Mappa's name really deserves to be put in the hat now when it comes to discussion about studios that put out consistently great animation quality in their work.

Only the first ep and I'm already in love. Like the characters, loved the animation and music and I think I like where this story might be going.

I really liked the first episode. The only things that bothered me were:

- MC has an afro, I really dislike his hairstyle;
- the males kind of seems like they're using lipstick;
- not enough of the demon girl

PS: This scene was extremely badass

Not bad. Not bad at all.

You don't really get these kinda of stories or Jack Sparrow-esque type of characters in anime nowadays. The first seriously played out like one of those big Hollywood summer blockbusters which instantly separated it from a lot of stuff arriving this season save for maybe F/SN. Whether the show will have much in of depth will remain to be seen, but what it is right now is fun and sometimes that is all that matters.

Completely agree with you. I am wondering about the inevitable journey between Favaro, Kaisar, and Amira. How will they get Kaisar to come along? Is it just chivalry to help a beautiful lady, or will he continue to chase down Favaro.

Speaking of Kaisar's hair, doesn't he look like a cross between Byakuya from Bleach and Space Dandy?

Just watch the opening episode again. It seem to have an extremely economical sense of the cast of character. The 3 tavern wenches being rounded up by Garth's goons are the same ones serving Favaro on his post bounty celebration and used to distract Kaisar. Finally the blonde wench is the one who woke Favaro at the end of the show. The 3 Garth goons happened to be driving the wagon where Amari landed, Terminator style. And the clothes she wears came from these same goons, again, Terminator style.

Although at this point, I don't see how the bounty hunter can make any money. I mean, just look at the collateral damage they caused. At least neither Favaro nor Kaisar are held accountable for that water wheel damage in the star of the episode.

I enjoyed everything about this episode. From the LOtR style beginning to the spanish western five minutes later, a lot of fun. Favaro and Kaiser make a great odd couple. xD

The on-screen text actually spelled out the character's name in Latin characters. I too have been spelling Kaisar's name as Kaiser, but here's what shows up in the episode.

Kaisar Lidfard
Favaro Leone
Garth and Ghos
Bacchus & Hansa

I doubt every bounty hunter are... as destructive Favaro and Kaiser. IMO I think they're kinda of like Lina Inverse of their trades. I'm sure that bounty hunters in general are bit more responsible that this.

I'm more surprised that Favaro is has the balls to lie to a chick who could probably has no qualms about breaking him in half. Or maybe she caught to fact this she dealing with a swindler and turned him demon...

I really enjoyed the first episode. It's got an old school fantasy vibe to it that I'm really liking. Yoshino and Inoue have good chemistry and I'm looking forward to seeing more of their interactions.

When Favaro captured Garth, he mentioned it was his 20th capture. When he was bragging to the tavern wenches, he multiply by 10 and got 200 capture. So it's entirely in his character to boast he's been to Helheim. Too bad, Amira is going to held him to get her there.

I totally agree with this. I like what I see so far. Kind of like Die Hard level of over the top action. The girl is interesting. The MC is kind of annoying so far, but I think it has more to do with his voice. It is high pitched and nasal-like, which can get annoying with this type of character. Well, his no qualms about lying and deceiving do not feel very charming neither. Well, it's only the first episode, so maybe he might improve along the way. Jack Sparrow is cool. This guy, not as much so far.

Dragon, you can run, but you can't hide.

You'll be on the next Final Fantasy like it or not!

Ok, I liked that first episode.

I'm looking forward the next and hope the quality keeps solid.
