Block Finals:
Group A:
<<南千秋@みなみけ おかえり>> (Minami Chiaki @ Minami-ke Okaeri)
<<片岡優希@咲 -Saki->> (Kataoka Yuuki (Tacos) @ Saki) Tacos should win easily. But this could be a target of a counter attack by the Hayate faction

Group B:
<<池田華菜@咲 -Saki->> (Ikeda Kana @ Saki) pulling for neko loli fang, but this one could go either way
<<鷺ノ宮伊澄@ハヤテのごとく!!>> (Saginomiya Isumi @ Hayate no Gotoku!!)

Group C:
<<ルイズ・フランソワーズ・ル・ブラン・ド・ラ・ヴァリエール@ゼロの使い魔 ~三美姫の輪舞~>> (Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière @ Zero no Tsukaima ~Princess no Rondo~)
<<東横桃子@咲 -Saki->> (Touyoko Momoko @ Saki) Yeah I am a Saki fanboy, but I would vote Lucky Star over Louise. Probably..maybe...

Group D:
<<日奈森あむ(日奈森亜夢)@しゅごキャラ! シリーズ>> (Hinamori Amu @ Shugo Chara! series)
<<天江衣@咲 -Saki->> (Amae Koromo @ Saki)The koroMOE should win this easliy

Group E:
<<平沢唯@けいおん!>> (Hirasawa Yui @ K-ON!) Yui should have no problems here
<<櫛枝実乃梨@とらドラ!>> (Kushieda Minori @ Toradora!)

Group F:
<<逢坂大河@とらドラ!>> (Aisaka Taiga @ Toradora!)
<<中野梓@けいおん!>> (Nakano Azusa @ K-ON!) Azu-nyan could pull off an upset here of a powerful Rie loli

Group G:
<<エルルゥ@OVA うたわれるもの>> (Eruruu @ Utawarerumono OVA)
<<福路美穂子(キャプテン)@咲 -Saki->> (Fukuji Mihoko (Captain) @ Saki) Captain DESU FTW

Group H:
<<三千院ナギ@ハヤテのごとく!!>> (Sanzen'in Nagi @ Hayate no Gotoku!!)
<<原村和@咲 -Saki->> (Haramura Nodoka (Nodocchi) @ Saki) Nodocchi may be the first character with big boobs to make it this far. Can she beat one of the strongest loli's in the tournament with the entire Hayate faction behind her? Could we have 4 Rie lolis in the final 8?

It'd appear groups B,F and H are the only ones that can be actually called matches.

With some luck Saki will win it all and we will have 75% Saki dominance for the quarterfinals. That should ensure enough shitfest for me to lol for many days to come.

2009 Will be the year of the Rie with 4 out of 8 being Rie lolis. With the right draw we could have a final 4 of Rie lolis. 3 Tsunderes vs Tacos

My picks for Round 3-4

C2 Kyou Fujibayashi [With Hanyuu's downfall it's the turn of one my remaining predicted block winner to give her all and beat Invisible Momoko]
D1 Amu Hinamori [Sorry for little old Komoe, but Shugo Chara fans should help Amu to win her round Doki]
Highest vote Kyou Fujibayashi [Everyone likes a short haired Kyou, give her the votes to withstand this match]

3-5 HnG and Clannad vs K-ON
E1 Hinagiku Katsura [She will have one of her greatest matchup with Yui and everyone should support her even wore Alice Uniform in Hayate's story to please everyone]
F2 Azusa Nakano [Due to Yui's help, she will beat Nagisa and make it into top 16]
Highest vote Hinagiku Katsura [Almighty Hinagiku Power]

3-6 HnG Faction vs Toradora Faction
E2 Ayumu Nishizawa [Hamster vs Baka-Girl, epic battle]
F1 Maria [Maria should tell Taiga to back out, but Taiga has Minorin's support on the other hand Maria has Hamster's support as well this would get interesting. For the elimination of Ami Maria, should win this even Taiga and Nagi are the same]
Highest vote Maria [2nd on the poll behind Hinagiku she might pull something off here]

3-7 The Melancholy of Eruruu
G1 Yuki Nagato [Eruruu and Haruhi just layoff and more space for Yuki fanatics]
H2 Nodoka Haramura [She gets the power of the internet mahjong at her hands and give Miyako her own medicine of elimination]
Highest vote Nodoka Haramura [She win and it's all over]

3-8
G2 Mihoko Fukuji (Captain) [I'll go for her cause I was star strucked by her eyes and being a caring person to her teammates, gomene Ushio]
H1 Saki Miyanagi [The trump card of the Saki faction and bearer of the flag, she will defeat Nagi of all people, Nagi got to kiss Hayate twice anyway]
Highest vote Saki Miyanagi [SAKI storm]
Round 3 Final Stats
PR4 2+1=3
FR4 2+3=5
OR4 3+5=8

PEB [Mio Akiyama]
PEB2 [Ami Kawashima, Misaka Mikoto]

PE3 2+6=8 [Fuuko Ibuki, Hanyuu, Kyou Fujibayashi , Hinagiku Katsura, Ayumu Nishizawa, Maria, Yuki Nagato, Saki Miyanagi ]
FE3 0
OE3 8+0=8

What a disaster round almost every remaining picks of mine are eliminated except for Chiaki Minami but she will be eliminated as well by Tacos in Round 4.

My Predictions for SaiMoe 2009

My picks for Round 4

Group A Finals Chiaki Minami [0.0000001% chance for her to win this battle]

Yesterday's Results:

Fukuji Mihoko - 787
Tainaka Ritsu - 445
Okazaki Ushio - 345

Miyanaga Saki - 790
Sanzenin Nagi - 889

Mihoko completely stomps Ritsu and Ushio. I'm guessing there really was some KyoAni split vote but that's still a huge beatdown by Mihoko. Saki characters are finally starting to show some weakness. Nagi is far from weak, but I didn't really think she would be able to challenge Saki. Nodocchi is another level above Saki, though. It'll be interesting to see if Nagi has what it takes to compete. Doubly so if Saki characters really do win 5 Top 8 spots before Nagi vs Nodocchi.

Unified KyoAni (no split vote) wins by 3 votes....yeah...not happening.

What chances are to be had...of Chiaki taking out "Tacos"?

Well, nice to see Hayate having plenty of fight left. Losing Hinagiku was pretty much a huge blow.

Ritsu got a bit more votes than last round, but was still severely outmatched, especially with Saki's match the same day. Now all the Saki chars moved on...... except for Saki. The question now is: Can Nagi beat Nodoka?

Picks: R3: 10-6 (Overall: 73-66-5)

Round 3 is over, at the very least it ended satisfactorily for me with yet another impressive Nagi victory. Her dreams wouldn't be crushed. Otherwise it was a devastation for my picks. Losing Hina, Maria and Maria in the bottom half of the draw sure calls for a lot of hurting.

Aggravatingly, I was 15-1 in predictions (based on my previews) for this round. Of course, I screwed up in the most important match. ;_;

Anyway, Round 3 Report and Round 4 Preview is up for the specifics, as well as a block finals preview.

How unexpected. M.Saki had it all: series mojo, main character status, and the lulz of pitting her against Nodoka in the following round. I can't see why Saki supporters wouldn't want to see that last bit.

Can Chiaki beat Tacos? Doubtful, but here's hoping...

Bold is vote; Italics is prediction
Block Finals:
Group A:Minami Chiaki vs. Kataoka Yuuki-Chiaki hasn't been impressive; really the only reason she's come this far is by having easier matches than most.
Group B: Ikeda Kana vs. Isumi - While I'd say that Kana is Saki's weakest character still in, she's still strong enough to beat Isumi unfortunately.
Group C: Louise vs. Momoko - Momoko has the advantage of being in Saki, but Louise is still not a pushover.
Group D: Amu vs. Koromo - Koromo takes this easily; I'm surprised Amu made it this far.
Group E: Yui vs. Minori- Yui is argubly the favorite to take the whole thing; Minorin won't beat her unless tactics are involved.
Group F: Taiga vs. Azusa- I say that Taiga takes this; she is the lead of her series and probably the strongest contender after Yui. Azusa is the third most popular character in K-On!, and doesn't even have that much screentime.
Group G: Eruruu vs. Mihoko - So far, Mihoko has performed the best out of all the Saki characters; Eruruu is the weakest character in still.
Group H: Nagi vs. Nodoka- This is close, but Nagi is slightly more popular than Nodoka.

Well, at least I have one hope now. Nagi just showed who is the boss, I'm thinking that she can make this through.

Bold is vote; Italic is prediction

Group A: Minami Chiaki - Kataoka Yuuki
This isn't even called a match. Chiaki is still pretty far from Tacos.

Group B: Ikeda Kana - Saginomiya Isumi
This one is a tough match for Kana. Isumi herself is not that strong, but she gains a lot of support from Hayate faction.

Group C: Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière - Touyoko Momoko
Saki faction VS Kugimiya faction. Momo may take this, but not that easily.

Group D: Hinamori Amu - Amae Koromo
Koromoe should win this.

Group E: Hirasawa Yui - Kushieda Minori
Yui is one of the strongest characters here. Only Minorin isn't be a problem for her.

Group F: Aisaka Taiga - Nakano Azusa
A close match, but Taiga may take it.

Group G: Eruruu - Fukuji Mihoko
Eruruu is one of the weakest here. She has made this far because her matches was easy.

Group H: Sanzen'in Nagi - Haramura Nodoka
Nagi is unstoppable now. Moreover, if four of five Saki characters have won in former matches, there will be a bunch of votes from anti-Saki faction.

Saki got 3 more votes than Mihoko this round. If that means anything...
