Hmmmmmm, I wonder if I should watch it ep by ep or just watch them all in 7 months when they're finished.....
Anyone else notice the sloppy animation in this, seems like they used the base character design, but messed up the proportions of everyone's face. |

Gotta love the HunterxHunter, such a good story. I read the Manga and watched the raw, but I really enjoyed the subbed episode prolly more than both, I'm more of an anime fan than a manga fan. I did notice that Biske does look quite different in this one that she did in the second OVA, oh well.

This is the THIRD OVA series. You apparantly skipped the 2nd OVA series. OVA series 1 : 8 episodes OVA series 2 - Greed Island : 8 episodes OVA series 3 - Greed Island Final : 14 episodes (only 2 episodes out yet) |

I'm sure they'll do the DVD version as well, they can just copy and paste their translation into it. (more or less) I like how they took their credits screen from the offical HxH OVA website. Anyway, the first episode just about followed the manga panel by panel, I liked it a lot. I don't like how they cut like an manga entire chapter from the second episode though. I hope they improve the OP, the lack of backgrounds in it makes it seem really cheap. Oh, and according the Hunter x Hunter OVA website it's 'BI-SU-KE' (in katakana) so that should be 'Biske', not 'Piske'. Also, the manga translaters chose to translate 'Masadra' as 'Masadora'. (the katakana say 'MA-SA-DO-RA') But this isn't really a big deal IMO. Last edited by a_nevels666; 2004-02-24 at 08:10. |

The animation in ep 1 is not so good, but it looks better in ep 2. The opening theme looks like they rushed it, the song just doesn't fit the series, and seeing Gon, Killua and Biscuit flying through space is just.... uh -_-
I don't think they skip anything in ep 1, i'll have to go read the manga again, but they skipped alot in ep 2 -_-. If they can keep up the same animation they had in ep 2 and change the crappy opening theme halfway through the series, that would be very good. I don't think the subbing was too good either. And they got some of the characters names wrong. Biscuit = Piske -_-, Raiza = Razor o.O. I'm just waiting for Aone_N! to do a DVD version of it because they did a great job on the last OVA ^^. |

They're not flying through space in the OP, that's the 'accompany' spell. It just looks odd because there are almost no backgrounds in the OP. 'BISUKE' can be translated as both 'Biske' and 'Biscuit'. (just not as 'Piske') I always read Raiza as 'Lazer', but the 'Razor' interpretation makes sense. Either that or leave it as Raiza. Spoiler about HxH manga: Spoiler:
Anyway, the romanization of names is pretty much a guessing game, the quality of the subtitles was very good in my opinion. Good timing, and no spelling errors or awkward grammar. Last edited by a_nevels666; 2004-02-24 at 10:12. |

What can I say.. I really enjoyed episode 1. I accually enjoy seeing Killua and Gon for 1 second, I'm that addicted to HxH. :x
Euhm, is it possible to say what you're spoiling about; like "OVA episode1" or "OVA episode2" or "manga", then we know what we can read and what we can't. I just read a_nevels666's spoiler, and I think it's a spoiler about what to come, not about what is in the first episode. |

But what the hell, I'll edit my post. Quote:
So that's BI-SU-KE --> Biske or Biscuit. You can just edit it for the DVD version. |

Just a side note to you who are saying "They arn't spelling all the names right so they suck and I will get another version", the REAL spelling of all the names are QUITE different. This are listed on the ORIGINAL HxH TV site (not in kanji)(Also note some names ARE spelled right in the fansubs too):
Gin Freecss Gon Freecss Killua Zaoldyeck Curarpikt (Commonly known as Kurapica by previous fansubs) Leorio Hyskoa (Commonly known as Hisoka in fansubs) Quoll (Leader of the spiders, too lazy to look up what the fansubs put, but I KNOW it wasn't that...) Yellumi Zaoldyeck (Killua's brother) Mito (Gon's Aunt) kaito (Hunter from episode 1) Con (Gon's pet Bear thingy) Oba (Mito's Mother) Satothu (First examiner) Menchi (Female Cooking examiner) Buhara (Male Cooking examiner) Rippo (Guy who runs the tower in the exam) Netero (President of the Hunters Exam) Mamen (Netero's assistant) Anyways....I got tired of listing names, LOL Don't believe me?
