Kure-nai [Manga]

Seen as there isn't a manga thread for this, I thought I should make one.

Spoiler:

Shounen light novel.
少年向けライトノベル

Author: Katayama Kentarou
Illustrator: Yamamoto Yamato

Super Dash Bunko's site for this light novel:
http://dash.shueisha.co.jp/-kurenai/

A manga adaptation of Kure-nai light novel will start in the first issue of the new shounen manga magazine Jump Square.

There's a page for Kure-nai manga on Jump Square's site:
http://jumpsq.shueisha.co.jp/content...nai/index.html

Genre: Shounen
Plot Summary: Based on a series of light novels, Kure-nai is about the adventures and misadventures of 16-year-old Shinkuro Kurenai. Shinkuro is an authority in settling disputes between people, and is one day approached by Murasaki Kuhouin, the daughter of a powerful plutocratic family, asking him to be her bodyguard.

Currently the manga in only up to chapter 5 (which I was bribed convinced into reading ).

Thoughts so far ~ This is quite a good series so far and 5 chapters in, the anime has already deviated quite far from the anime but the character personalities are more or less the same (besides murasaki who is more attracted to Shinkurou compared to her anime counterpart). Actually, the manga hasn't touched much upon why Murasaki is now living with Shinkuro so their relationship isn't shown to be a fresh start. The arcs shown so far are about Shinkuro and his jobs, trying to earn meats end but still finding himself going without food for days. The comedy is fairly amusing and innocent to, with those topics concerning stuff that 7 year old Murasaki shouldn't know about yet.

So far there are also some potential romance between Shinkurou and a few other girls (dibs on the yandere, Houdzuki Yuuno! ).

The first manga tankoubon to be released from Jump Square will be on May 2nd but disappointingly the Kure-nai first volume won't be amongst the first manga to be released >.<

The first kure-nai manga volume will be released with the "second wave" of tankoubon releases from this magazine, which will be on June 4th.

Look here to see the first manga to come from the shounen manga magazine Jump Square:

june 4th... damn that;s long..

although this can complement you while watching the anime because it can actually answer some of the questions currently posed in the anime, despite the manga being only 5 chapters long at the moment.

is this a weekly release? although it looks like a monthly release to me.

Jump Square is a monthly magazine and is the replacement magazine for Monthly Shonen Jump. Other titles in addition to Kure-nai are Claymore & Rosario + Vampire II.

Anyway the anime should go well past the manga when it finishes but until we get a sequel anime series or the novels are translated it looks like this manga will be the only way to solve our Kure-nai fix.

Anyway Yuno rocks!

I think it will depend on how long the anime runs for. But yea, even with the headstart the manga has in comparison, it do believe that they will get onto Shinkurou's case sooner or later.

Well, we can wait for a sequel

Montly releases are painful though...very painful (even for a none manga reader like me)

sad thing though the manga starts after shinkurou fixes the problem with murasaki's case(which is being dealt on with in the anime). but then again, moar cases for them to solve!

Probably not in a language that you would understand

Well, it's pretty much really Tamaki-centric, but yeah it's good

Not really...all most 99% of harem leads no matter how innocent they seem, do have fantasies and such (or at least blush thinking about "you Know what"). Shinkurou is one of those who is truely innocent (or just a complete block head when it comes to relationships ).

I like how they depicted Kurenai in the manga. In the anime he looks so depressing/angsty/suicidal(the works). I just hope his personally will be like the manga as the series goes on @_@.
