the last time I checked, which was like last year? part of the wiki was translated from the Japanese wiki, which was vague in some areas, and part of it was from the contributors themselves. there is some ambiguity which may have resulted either from the contributors' English ability or comprehension ability (either Chinese or Japanese).

He said that she was the sister of Lucile, which is why he tasked her to do it, instead of say Milk or Kiefer. But he did not explain further.

Legend of Fallen Black Hero volume 5 also says that part of the reason why Lucile is Lucile is because of the blood of the Eris family.

Next paragraph is my speculation.

Which in short, probably means that she can use the "charm" because she had the blood. Lucile's case is special because apparently Lieral added incantations/spells into his body. Maybe Ferris was not up to the task mentally, maybe Lieral don't feel like creating the second God Devourer out of Ferris, but anyway, his fix was probably tweaking with the sword and sealing it with the charm. While it will probably bring out Ferris' God Devouring powers when she unseal it, it will probably also caused her to die.

The God Devouring powers itself is probably a complicated spell, but it probably requires the blood of Eris family to use it, since they can "absorb darkness".

My memories may be shady though, since I am currently focusing on exams. Take it with a slight pinch of salt.

I guess the reason I'm confused is because I've never heard of Eris referred to as the "God-Devourer"... usually isn't he just referred to as the <Demon> or the "Weaver of All Formulas"? <----All members of house Eris are decents of Eris himself so they would contain his blood. But I thought Lieral placed the God-Devourer charm on Lucile so that he could devour demons and eventually Eris himself?? o.o


Also, Lucile became Lucile after he devoured Eris...remember? He used to be Rex... o.o But, you are right Lieral did put spells and incantations on Lucile... wiped his whole memory of the incident on top of that. Sounds like Lieral was just playing off Ferris's emotions at that time. Ferris was never exposed to Eris like Lucile was so she doesn't have his lv of power.

Oh! One last thing! Remeber also that Ferris is most likely the reincarnation of an ancient being that had associations with Asruld, RER, Milk and so on... so in a way she is a little separated from Eris.

But the man's words ended there. As though he did not hear Ferris' words.

"But you will become God-Devourer <Lucile>, in order to save my son."

"So I am saying, why are you mentioning my brother's name......"

However, the man ignored Ferris' question and continued,

"Because Ryner will definitely not be able to hold on as he continues into the path. That child is too gentle, and thus he will want to continue on no matter what. When that time comes, I hope you will swing this sword. If he gives up, and can no longer move forward and seeks for your help...... You must devour the god <demon> in Ryner's body. The method is simple. Just tear away the seal on the sword, and slash the sword at Ryner. This sword will just consume the monster in Ryner's body, and thus he will be saved. However, you will be destroyed."

The man said it like that.

If I remember right, even without the interference of Lieral, the Eris family had an ability to withstand "darkness" and absorb it (can't quite remember how exactly does it work on Eris). The God-Devouring powers is probably just Lieral amplifying the powers with his own spells. If it is really just simply a charm, he could have chosen anyone. The fact that Ferris is selected means that that power comes from the blood of the Eris family as well.

Ah, now that I've read it, it makes a little more sense. To me it still looks like he is playing off of Ferris's emontions. In the 1st part it looks like he is just referring to when he placed God-Devourer in Lucile's head; hence he becomes God-Devourer <Lucile> at that point. But, Ferris doesn't know of that event so she would be confused.

He says that he will make her a God-Devourer too in referrence to that he will be placing the same power in her hands. It isn't referring to Eris at all. Leiral knows that Ferris cares deeply enough for Ryner to sacrifice herself... he found that out the 1st time he meet her. I really don't think it has anything to do with her blood... even though she is a descendent of Eris she was never exposed to him... Her sword is special though...that's why he probably put it on the sword.<--- Just my speculation though. ^_^

As for Eris he does have the ability to take darkness with in himself... actually Ryner Reed, Eris Reed, and Asruld all have this ability. In the beginning of DDYD both Lucile and Sion are taking in darkness, and also remember in one version of the legend Asruld tells RER that he can't handle the darkness himself... so RER splits himself and gives himself to Asruld with Ryner eventually taking in the darkness of the world or whatever.

When Lucile started to devour demons he said that his world was so full of darkness, but Ferris was his light... to me it almost literally seemed like she has light within her... so I don't know if she as the ability to take in darkness...o.o Guess we will have to wait and find out! XD

Nothing much to talk about. There is an entire chapter or two dictated in DaiDenyuuden about Lieral and Iluna plus young Ryner, but pretty much everything has been covered in the wiki already.

She is a beauty though. I enjoyed her art in the manga. Very very beautiful and motherly.

I guess the only small info I can put in is that Ryner's Alpha Stigma probably came from her bloodline, as it is impossible to come from Lieral's.

To be honest, unless some seriously unexpected twist happens, I don't see why Ferris should use the God Devourer on Ryner, considering Ryner Reed doesn't seem to be a bad person and Alpha is gone for good. So, unless Ryner somehow manages to end up with the other portion (i.e. Eris Reed) and it happens to have some really wicked, murderous side we don't know of (other than Lucile's current personality, which is rather weird, considering we've seen Ryner Eris Reed and he seemed pretty much the same as Ryner Reed), then I don't see what could happen.

It could be that Sion's plans go into fruition with the whole thing about the truth and whatnot, and this happens to fuck Ryner up that Ferris ends up trying to use the God Devourer. But well, who knows?

In the end, Lieral gave Ferris that ability after Ryner got rid of Alpha. So, there must be a reason behind that.
