Speaking of holograms, I found this one via Starwars.com. Slightly older tech news, but it is relevant to this topic.

Ishihara: “I Want to Censor the Internet As Well!”
"Tokyo’s governor Shintaro Ishihara has indicated that his next target is the
Internet." "In recent statements, he has said he intends to use his position as Tokyo governor to “lead Japan from Tokyo” – i.e. make laws in Tokyo which the rest of the country has no real choice but to go along with, just as has already happened with his manga ban, so there seems to be a very real danger he will attempt to enact a further ban on 2D material on the Internet." He's a dictator and doesn't want to lose power. What happened in Egypt isn't going to go as smoothly elsewhere in the middle east. It ended relatively peacefully because the Egyptian military pretty much sided with the protesters and said it was time for Mubarak to go. Elsewhere, the military is apparently supporting the regime and turning their guns on the protesters. That's making things a lot bloodier. Not to say it's doomed to failure, but the people protesting need to be willing to pay for a new government with their lives.

This is a VERY important fight for the teachers union across the nation. The teachers union is one of the last invincible unions. If this goes through then other states will see the chink in the armor. The teachers union has used a formula of begging and bullying for years and it has worked. |

The sailing of warships is unwarranted for. Do they really think they can influence the post Mubarak Egyptians to ally with them for another Six-Day War? They can't even clean up the political divide and corruption in their country for goodness sake, and now they are trying to shift their internal problems by demonising someone else? If the Iranians truly believe that it is the outsiders' fault, the rest of the world is screwed. By then it is in the best interests of Russia and US to nuke the place to oblivion.

Actually it is just one warship and a replenishment ship.
Kharg is a 11,000 ton British built replenishmet ship (an AOR) finished in 1984. The Alvand is also a British built ship, this one a guilded missiles frigate (FFG) commissioned in 1971. It has 1 x 114mm cannon, 2 x 35mm cannons, 3 x 20mm cannons, and 3 machine guns. Also 4 ship to surface missiles (Chinese C-802) She is 1,350 tons. The Isrealis have more than enough ships to deal with them if that was needed, and the American Sixth Fleet also has more that enough firepower to take out one Iranian frigate in combat. If they provoke anybody that is.

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
Gaddafi under threat as revolt hits Tripoli Quote:
A soldier serves his/her country, abides by his presidents orders so he/she could protect his/her own people. Why are they fucking shot for refusing to kill innocents? The rule of the thumb is to protect the people, not the damn regime!
