Those judges and everyone still don't understand the connection between Jouichirou and Asahi and Jouichirou and Souma. Someone please tell them.

I think Souma can win this. Even though he still hasn't even thought of what he want so make apparently which is bad. I mean, after all, after saying what he just said, he'll just look really pathetic if he lost. So yeah, I think and hope that he'll manage to win.

Actually, Souma can lose this, but then we get the cliched scene in which Erina is inspired (for the 1000th time) by his actions and defeats Asahi.
Though having Erina defeat Asahi would definitely be more believable, I think it would be horrible that she steals yet another important victory from the MC, when she doesn't need it.
As horribly written as this arc has been, and even if Souma lacks any feats to make readers believe he can defeat Asashi, Tsukuda has to let him win, somehow.

My prediction is that Soma defeats Asahi and foodgasms him into a coma, but this causes Erina and her mother to become angered at him for KOing the one person who could have satisfied God's Tongue, and the only way for Soma to prove them wrong is to defeat Erina in the final match. Yes, this drags out the whole "underestimate the protagonist" trope to its most absurd conclusion, but I wouldn't put the author past this considering how the series is falling apart.

I thinking more on the lines of soma winning the match and face off against erina but she will lack the ability to think she can win. Soma will inspire her to surpass herself.

Erina getting her mother to eat her cooking is equal to soma beating his dad. If soma beats asahi, he already filled his goal of beaten his father, so it only right he help her with her goal

I think that it’s obvious that Erina’s mom will be the final judge so Erina will have her eating her cooking anyway. At the same time it’s true that Souma intent from the beginning wasn’t beating Erina but having her say that his cooking is delicious. So Souma could lose the final but Erina recognising officially his cooking with a squirting foodgasm.

True. Erina pretty much acted as though she can't win against Asashi. So seeing Erina win against Souma would definitely be lame at this point. ...Her character is getting worse. All of the major arc has her in the centre of the plot (Souma is just there only). Yet, her character isn't developing in a positive way.

...And despite this being a world competition why the heck are all the final contestants Japanese? The author isn't using the "world" theme to full potential. He reads and uses Yakitake Japan for ideas yet he created such a dull competition. (In showed that the author has copies of Yakitake Japan in his workplace in the reference corner during the video that came with Jump-Ryu).

That could happen but it would be lame as fuck. Erina already stole the RdC. and even if her mum is the final judge, this is still BLUE (like, you know, the biggest cooking competition we know of in the story), so that should go for the MC. Furthermore, Mana's issue is a God Tongue issue, which is bound to affect Erina, so I think that, if we're already in bullshit territory, then Souma should just take that one too, beat Erina, and save her and Mana in the process. Then, considering this manga, somehow, doesn't seem to be ending any time soon, Mana can go to Tootsuki, become Director, and maybe Erina can finally lead a semi-normal high-school life.

maaaan, i like this decent chapter, pretty much enjoyable.

this chapter remind me of when polar stardom would got demolished, everyone inside it tried to fight for it and betted their live on soma while erina still anxious about what she should do, but the word of senzaemon about the power of experience of trial and error which soma has would slap her back to her sense, makes her regret then brings back her confidence to give her all seriously in final.

besides, the flashback at shinomiya where situation felt hot, everything should be fast to reach certain time is the reason why soma can catch up to make five theme dish that looked pretty tense, yeah it's good to see those reminiscense, makes shinomiya more badass than jou.

so, who's on first? what dishes those two make? nobody can guess, i'm waiting for next week. nice

But I for one liked the chapter. I do think Soma should win this since Erina already stole the RdC like Used Can shouldn't end up stealing the BLUE too.

It's good to see Soma finally use something from his Stagiaire at Shino's, and also to see him make food from other cuisines. Would be great if he can beat Asahi here.
