My reasoning being that in the extended version someone individually names each member of the band and they do their respective solo's the only one not included is Azusa.

Or am I just way off base?
No, Yui is main vocal artist of Cagayake! GIRLS with some background singing from the other girls. I hope they do a full video clip for the whole song, damn I love it so. *fingers crossed*

Some people reckon in the second version of the opening with Azusa you can hear two different guitars, I haven't really stopped to listen but I don't think Azusa has it in her to sing.

Not yet anyway.

Fair enough but it does seem odd to call yourself out for a guitar solo.

I'm pretty sure it's Ritsu who starts the call outs.

Ritsu: Yui!
Yui: Mugi!
Mugi: Mio!
Mio: Ritsu!

In this part of the opening, I can see that the bass is rendered in 3D. Is Mio also 3D in this part?

Are the subtitles in the opening and ending, done by the fansubbers or is it done by the creators? I think they are very cool and well done.

Are the locations in the series based on any real ones like they did in Haruhi and Lucky Star? The school looks a bit too...distinctive to just be a random high school.

If you watch the video at http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7146033 (or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rulz3Vem6xM for youtube) you can see that they actually go to some of the places in the OP to film it.

Ok new question, I was wondering if anyone had a list of the directors for each episode?

I have a feeling that the moe moe episodes will of been made by one or two people whilst the episodes that have slice of life and chracter development would of been made by another director but without that list I dont have anything but my gut instinct.

Depends... Have you downloaded an episode from each group? From that, what you like best would be the "best" version...

aye, that simply gets into a quick slap-fight to ask "which is best". Two groups can do a stellar job and come with very different translations depending on their "level of localization and slang".
*I* happen to prefer more literal translations but am not averse to "spirit in meaning" localization choices. Other people's preferences differ.

Best thing to do is pick an ep and download from each group -- watch the translation, decide which fonts you like, or even whether one group karaokes the OP/ED more fancy than another.

There's one more episode in progress (DVD Japan release) but it won't be released until January if I remember rightly.
