It's a bit silly to compare who is the stronger saint when their cosmo is what matters most. At any moment they can burn their cosmo and become stronger than their pier or a higher ranked saint.

As for the next episode I think there is indeed some significance in Aria's staff falling into the depth of Mars. Maybe we will get Seiya or perhaps we'll get Ikki.

This kind of reminds me to when people discussed who was the strongest Gold Saint. Some said Saga while others said Shaka. With Episode G now Aiolia is also claimed that.

Well, he could use it to pull off Apsu from Kouga. The Sagittarius arrow always had unexpected powers, anyway.

Yeah, but it makes sense when you think people voted for Omega's Seiya, who's now a mature and legendary Gold Saint. I was never a fan of Seiya but this Seiya is pretty cool, i want to see more of him.

Hyoga on the other hand was always popular, made a pretty good appearance, but he was in only one episode...i have a feeling Mamoru Miyano made a difference for him.

Seiya in the original series was a bit of a wimp - there were many moments where he becomes uncertain of himself especially when Saori/Athena pretends to abandon them which he will then go all emo/whiny (the later movies was the worst when it comes to showing emo Seiya) and act like a kid - although technically speaking he is only 13~14 in the original. And sometimes when faced with god-class opponents he will show moments of weakness and uncertainty, and also times where he becomes cocky/hot-headed and trash talk his opponents. Overall I would say his character was a pretty immature character - too child/brat like for him to become popular.

Seiya in Omega OTOH has matured a lot and more than living up to his legendary saint status. He's got the aura of confidence which comes from age/experience which the original lacks. For example when Mars attacks Saori/Athena in the first episode and Seiya drops down from nowhere and saves the day he only just gave a reassuring nod towards Saori without saying anything - showing signs of a truly matured fighter, whereas back in the old days Seiya would've probably talked trash or show some signs of weakness and/or uncertainty when faced with someone with god-class power.

I remember when I first started watching the first series and he was all pissy toward Saori for his grandpa kinda sorta kidnapping his sister and blackmailing him over it, I thought that was kinda interesting since he'd be working with her reluctantly.

And then as soon as Ikki shows up, "Saints are warriors of justice, I can't ignore this!"
