An orgy of tits, sex, and violence. Fuck yeah.
Lupin was preserved very well for this decade and the peaks of Fujiko do not disappoint. It's been a long while since an anime has been able to show such sexiness without coming across as exploitative... note that this is not just a problem with anime. But yea Fujiko shows why Lupin is so interested in her. Excellent BGM/Visuals and this seems to be the strongest showing of this season thus far. 9/10 for episode 1 Also, lol Jinomaru Yamakan.

Ah this brings back good memories...
I love the grand heists, the throwback animation, the constant amour from Lupin towards Fujiko, the always punctual inspector trying to arrest Lupin, and how it all comes together for a fun adventure. And so much gratuitous nudity. Speaking of nudity, this series warrants yet another ass count (tits count too since this is Fujiko). So so what is our count for today's episode? TITS: 14 ASS: 14 Good balance here, even with the ecchi. This series will be a really fun ride me thinks.

Man what a show... Jigen is awesome as always.
Good god... this one have potential to outdoing some classic like Bebop or Samurai Champloo and of course the predecessor of this show itself. God bless everyone in these godly production committee if its stay awesome like this till the end.

This show is totally boss. I've only seen bits and pieces of Lupin, but this modern interpretation is just full of style and I'm loving it. You often hear complaints about fanservice ruining modern anime because they inappropriately use it. Well ladies and gentlemen, this is an example of how fanservice ADDS to the shows atmosphere. This is not in any way an otaku pandering sort of entertainment, this is clearly adult, mature with lots of flair and style. I was actually worried that Mari Okada might somehow totally derail this series, but looks like the director and other production staff have kept her tantrum tendencies in check .
9/10 for the first two episodes and is part of my A-List alongside Space Brothers, Fate/Zero S2, Jormungand. Watanabe is doing a superb version with the jazz compositions and hopefully his directorial skills in tommorow's Sakamichi no Apollon will shine and join this list too. This season fucking rocks. |

Excellent episode. Jigen is solidly given a credible past, and we have a rich opportunity to look into his personal motivations and raison d'etre, making him more human than his previous incarnations... But still, he's badass even with a 357.
Now he's part of the game. Can't wait for more.

This episode was indeed right up there with episodes of CB and SC,Yamamoto already showed flashes of brillance in Michiko to Hatchin, that had style but I could never connect with the characters like I do in CB,SC or here. Of course I'm sure she's learned plenty from being on the staff of Samurai Champloo and working under Watanabe. Let's hope this keeps going strong. Quote:
Not to mention I think sometimes Yamamoto needs to keep herself in check But really, episode 5 is titled "Bloody love triangle" and episode 6 is set in an all girl's highschool, lets see how they keep Okada in check with these themes.

Episode 2: stylishly done. A little too cool for me, conveying little real emotion, but excellent.
Of course Sawashiro Miyuki is good, but so is Tanaka Atsuko (Kusanagi Motoko in GitS, the boss's wife here). And so is Kobayashi Kiyoshi, who played the bodyguard, and whose career began in Astro Boy in 1963. This role here has been his bread and butter in Lupin shows since 1977.

So I really want to see this, but don't want to introduce myself to Lupin III with this series (I haven't ever seen any Lupin III). What older Lupin III title (movie or series) would be a good introduction?

Kids,
This is how you put fanservice into a series and do it right . This series is kicking ass and taking names, and its doing it with style. Its kind of sad, that this series is very short but hopefully, it gives a chance to have a another Lupin the III series coming out in the future.

Excellent episode 2. The art and animation so far is consistent with no hints of dropping. The plot seems like it revolves on Fujiko's past even before she became a thief. As this episode pointed out that she was probably some sort of assassin before she became free-spirited thief we all know.
