I used http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx because they are in Japanese. According to them the volume is all about Miu and Sasha, not that Raika isn't mentioned at all. The volume illustrations show Raika too but look at the last two:

There are indeed many people and she gets many gifts, she is excited when she sees the birthday cake but when it is time for her to blow the candles she says she should do it when Mama and Papa get here. The door bell rings and she says "Mama and Papa came!". It was Yuuta's aunt who was late. The door bell rings again and she says "Mama and Papa came!". It was Shingo's brother this time. Much later she falls asleep for a while and they tell her Mama and Papa came for a while when she was asleep and left her a birthday gift, an outfit for her favorite rabbit her mother had given her. She is happy and they avoid the problem for a while.

The next day Hina wakes up before everyone else and thinks she might meet Mama and Papa if she goes after them right now. She leaves the house with the dog while the others are asleep. When they find her at that image Yuuta makes sure she understands she is not allowed to go somewhere without them knowing no matter what the reason. They found a picture of her with her parents they took just before they left for that trip, she was sleeping at that time and lie to her that it is from the birthday party, which she believes and makes her happy.

Also, how much time passed between Vol 16 and Vol 17. Sora begins high school and Miu begins junior high which means Sora is 15 and Miu is just turned 12. I wonder how their first years in a new environment went.
