So I did my Macross Frontier image hunting for the first time a while ago, and it's pretty surprising where google took me. I found a list of blogs ranked by popularity, all under the tag "Alto". Why Alto? Don't blame me. It's all google's doing... So basically, I got to see the fandom landscape that we don't usually see, and the results didn't surprise me.

There's a number of blogs or fanwork galleries with the tag "Alto/Sheryl" but even MORE for "Michael/Alto". (Guess that means Alto is uke after all.) A few "Alto/Ranka" here and there, but even less "Michael/Klan"... or both were around the same number, not sure.

The quality was a mixed bag overall.

Anyway, I found the source for those two manga stories that raile uploaded earlier. One was about a lock of Sheryl's hair getting entangled on one of Alto's buttons, and the other one was about Alto daring to snatch his talisman from inside of Sheryl's blouse.

This one is about Alto, Michael, Sheryl and Klan planning to go to an onsen. Alto plans on passing because he doesn't have enough money, so Sheryl offers to pay for them both, and Alto takes this badly. Alto, in a fit of manliness, suddenly shouts that a guy should pay for his woman (exact words)... which, as you can tell, kind of surprises everybody. (Or maybe not.)

Sheryl is happy about this, though Alto is totally embarrassed about the whole thing.
