Agnes looks to be 34-40 just like Kotetsu but she wears lots of makeup and may dye her hair. Agnes works in TV, may be a former reporter, for all we know. TV women and super heroes...

The Gist of Kotetsu's character is that he's a dinosaur, the last of his kind... a true old school superhero forced to fight crime in a commercialized profession.

What if Agnes is the estranged Lois Lane?

Could be one of those stories where she falls for Kotetsu as a rookie reporter. They have a child. She eventually rises through the ranks. Kotetsu stays the same, he doesn't mature. He remains a man child. He's good at his job but his idealism costs him financial success. His wife ends up the main bread winner. She ends up working at Hero TV. She then decides she's tired of being the adult and divorces him. They split custody of their daughter. She ends up living with Kotetsu's mother half of the month and the other half with her mom.

Just saying, she works in TV and Kotetsu is a superhero.
I don't see that at all, and think you're trying to see things that aren't there.

Karina is supposed to a high school senior that works as a lounge singer and professional super hero. I guess she's supposed to be 17, if not already 18.

Only way that a dude ends up with the barely legal broad in any story of this nature is if he doesn't have any kids. Kotetsu's character is not tat type of guy.

She does seem to have a crush on Kotetsu but Kotetsu sees her as a daughter. He mentors her. It kind of see as Wolverine mentoring Rogue in the X-Men movies.

Kotetsu's got the loserish 35+year old action hero father thing going on, like John McClane in the Die Hard movies. It could be that his wife was an angel that died shortly after child birth but I'd just think it would be more interesting if his ex was Agnes.

Also, Barnaby is more like Kotetsu than he thinks. He's also an idealistic super hero but he has a cold facade atm. Only thing, he's the Batman sort. He's driven by the insatiable desire of punishing evil, revenge, vengeance, avenging the weak but with a strong moral code... he just doesn't know it yet. He just started. Barnaby is one small nudge from becoming even more obsessive than he is and way more impulsive. Seriously, his entire reason for becoming a super hero is that of Batman. Come on, you can see it a mile away.

Kotetsu has got the whole Peter Parker, Superman, Wally West thing going on. He's a hero because he has super powers and he was raised with the whole idea that "with great power, comes great responsibility." He has a run in with Mr Legend, helps him out, and he's a goober hero for life. He's the other kind of obsessed super hero.

I'm wondering... which heroes may die and which one is more likely to go first? Sky High? Wild Bison? Origami? It's a Sunrise show and the people behind it have worked on Karas, Big 0, Gundam, etc. Superheroes have had it easy in this series. Lunatic is a lunatic. Ouroboros may decide to retaliate. Blood may be spilled. Something may remind the super heroes that their job is dangerous.

New armor by episode 15?

We already have our Good Luck Mode upgrade. I mean the only thing that their suit give them advantage over the normal cop on the beat is that it's a extremely flexible lightweight armor that also give them tactical information and has the nifty grappling arm gun. The only thing that I can see that sort of stands out of power enhancement of the HeroTV's gear are Sky High's Jet Pack (Consider the criminal in episode 4 doesn't seem that rare in this world) and Blue Rose's ice missile and pistols. Both of those gear are enhancement of their existing power.

I can see a real tug-of-war for Barnaby's loyalty developing here, especially if the opportunity to finally confront his parents' killer(s) presents itself. Kotetsu will continue to preach his gospel of law, order and moderation - which I'm guessing will appeal even less to Barnaby than it does now. Meanwhile Lunatic's "Aku Soku Zan" will look even more attractive...

How about some villain shows up from around episodes 15-20 with some mean powers. He disintegrates their suits and totally beats the snot out of them.

This could force them into wearing retro spandex costumes until Saito constructs even better armors. Mk 2's. Saito could add shuriken launchers, a limited forcefield projector, cloaking device, healing gel, smokescreen, stun grenades, nets, etc.

I'm convinced that the city is intended to be an alternate / future Manhattan Island, maybe under a different name. The distant aerial shot of the city in ED looks very much like an aerial shot of Manhattan. Even the bridges leading to the city have the same look as the bridges leading to Manhattan.

Look familiar?

Although man, if Bunny hasn't noticed that symbol is on all the money in the city by now he's a bit slow.
Actually, I'm surprised at all the stuff you guys are picking up in the series (the reoccurring girl someone mentioned, details like that on the money) I'm going to have to start watching this show more closely now.

Barnaby doesn't seem like he would let the design on the money go unnoticed. He's a bit obsessive. He's really devoted to finding his parents' killers. This may be why he's in Sternbild.

Anyhow, what is Sternbild? Why does it have its own money?

Do other cities have similar super hero programs?

By the way, Apollon Media's CEO is named Albert Maverick. Talk about a superhero secret identity.

Dang didn’t notice the Dollar – Ouroboros reference, nice find there.

I think they’re making Sternbild to look like Gotham or Metropolis. Its design is sorta like fantasy science fiction. How the heck can you make a 3 gigantic floor structure that could withstoofd bunch of skyscrapper buildings.

Also I doubt Sternbild is the only city in the world which have NEXTs in it. Maybe one of the most advance and tolerant on the NEXT department, considering they have the Hero Academy for talented NEXTs.

So all the superheroes resembles or at least shares similar characteristic/traits with the Marvel/DC universe. Barnaby – Bruce Wayne, Kotetsu – Parker, Lunatic – the Punisher?

Well if we believe Tiger in episode 1 asking Bunny is he a freelancer it pretty much tells how the whole hero business started.

Guys like Mr. Legend regarded as the Cape started out as hero vigilantes protecting the city.

Next are a recent phenomenon then, about 40 years ago. It certainly promoted Next can be of help to society. But there also those like Pauly and Lunatic who violate the law. Taking account the potential damages pro-registration happened and companies started sponsoring government sanctioned heroes.

If we go by Tiger's exaggerated reaction freelancers are rare nowadays.

Lunatic probably thinks heroes are weak sellouts that wont go to the extremes he does. Indeed what he is doing is little more than serial killing.

We have true blue believers in the hero legacy in Tiger, Sky High and Dragon Kid.

Their ideals will be pitted against Lunatic's insanity.

Next ep I believe will be the turnaround for Origami Cyclone's character.

It's kinda funny that a vigilante who acts fanatically and psychotic calls HIMSELF Lunatic.

"I am Lunatic!"
"No kiddin' dude"

Super late reply. My bad.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the show is doing great here, in Japan. When I said over there I meant the west. Haha.
