Well, that's called Right of Conquest (which really is Danny only real claim for the throne ) and he could stay as Snow for that.

She took a Lannister as an advisor, and now her hand of the queen, so she isn't entirely stubborn and closed minded about it.

Judging by their usual pace, why not just a full set of 10? Call me cynical, but they've already cheapened their finale by transparently dragging it out like that.

Not just "a" Lannister, but the beloved brother of the Lannister who broke his oath and killed her (admittedly mad) father. I think a piddly little thing like who raised our unknowing Mr. Snow is pretty far down the list of things she's going to care about, once she gets all doe-eyed like every other female in Jon's presence. Particularly if she's been given any kind of indication of his true parentage.

If this last season showed us anything, it's that Dany's more or less accepted that her father was an omnicidal dick and needed to be put down. That nugget of wisdom has probably been germinating since her brother received his "crown". The Baratheon line is gone (rowboaters notwithstanding). The Starks, while usurpers, had the most legitimate complaint against the Mad King due to his actions. I think Dany will respect the irony of retaking her rightful place on the Iron Throne with a (dreamy) husband who was raised the bastard of a Stark but kind of is and isn't (and as the product of that "legitimate complaint" may have an even better claim to the throne than her, by Targaryen reckoning) and a patricidal Hand disowned by the Lannisters.

Watched ALL of season 6 in the past 12 hours - that's one way to spend half a day...Alright, so, although I've read the books, I stayed open to all kinds of changes, trying to see where they might be heading to.

Spoiler for impressions:

- Dorn: they killed Doran. I get that he had a weak body, but I remember his will being strong, it was rather odd that so many of his personal guards would want him dead. The Dornish acted less civilized than the Dothraki at that point, unable to contain their frustration and ending up effectively removing themselves from GoT. I hope they get dragons xD

- Arya Stark: she did not want to become no one, as much as she wanted to borrow the power of the faceless god to exact her undying vengeance. Point well taken, but how does the priest of the temple of black and white allow her to just waltz in, hang a girl's face on the wall and be like, I'm leaving now, kthxbai. He deals in death every day and all, but Arya clearly used him as much as possible - there should have been consequences, however minimal.

- Ramsay Bolton: not much to say about him. Obviously demented, he casually asked people to make a banner of a flayed man crucified upside-down...but why the hell did people follow suit!? Who in their right mind wears that kind of banner? What was his catchphrase going to be, I get laid or you get flayed? At least the dog who ate his face was cute :P

- Theon Grayjoy: for the first time in his pathetic and tragic life, he just might be doing the right thing! He has always been a host of tragedy, though, and I kind of expect him to die in such manner, for the cause of his sister.

- Tommen Lannister: his actions were expected, actually. He became pious after a lot of scepticism...and then boom goes the dynamite. He literally watched his faith crumble before his eyes...and his wife die in the process, along with the system he chose to support.

- Brianne: failure is her thing. I'm surprised she hasn't managed to die yet, she's only got Jamie to thank for that.

- Jamie Lannister: one of the few people still thinking straight, it seems. He's in for a lot of trouble, but I look forward to seeing how he might face Danny and his bro Tyrion.

- Tirion: he tried his best, really. Being betrayed by the slave masters was to be expected, of course, but thankfully we have Danny and her hulk smash moments.

- Daenerys: she's on a reeeeaaaally high horse now! Yeah, she got khals, she got ships, she got tamed dragons! ...but what if, by the time she reaches Westeros, it's all a land of blue death? If she makes it in time, I expect many to lay at her feet expecting salvation and dominion, but there will definitely be the salty ones who think "but the throne was mine!" ( like the Tyrells, the vipers, Petyr and Cersei).

- Sam, Sam and Gilly: for all his smarts, Sam is a bloody idiot. His entire lineage has been fighting wildlings and he thought, hey, wouldn't it be awesome if I brought Gilly back home? Granted, no women are allowed in the Citadel, but he might as well have left her in the middle of King's road. Anyway, his dad blows him off, so he steals the family heirloom out of spite and...takes Gilly and Sam jr to the Citadel. *slow clap* Did I mention that it took him a whole season to get to the Citadel and that he couldn't even register his name?

- Jon: he is not king material. He ditched the night's watch, after dying to its butthurt members, then failed to lead his half-army and had to be saved by his sister. He then proceeds to send his only red priestess away...with the night king knocking on his doors. It's not that he isn't smart, but rather that his emotions always get the best of him. It got him killed once, it very well may be his undoing yet again.

- Bran: for all his development, I think he is still not strong enough to make a difference. He is placed at the very best spot, knowing as much as we do, but he is stuck in a blizzard with only Meera by his side. I hope he makes it out alive in order to help save Westeros, but he is close to the reach of the white walkers; he's been marked for death.

- Cersei: queen at last. She won the game! She has no children left to care about, so maybe she'll just take Jamie and run away? Nah, she's too proud for her own good, I expect her to be among the first who will oppose the Dragon fleet. Torturing Unella is 100% Cersei, although she should have taken better care of Tommen...leaving him in the hands of the high septon came at the ultimate price.

- Sandor Clegaine: I don't know why he is still around. He has served his purpose and is now little more than an angry peasant who's good with a sword. He himself sounds tired of "greater causes" and simply wants to live in peace.

I may be forgetting a few things here and there, but overall, it felt a bit rushed, probably due to the closure some plot threads got. It was a good run nevertheless, till next year!

I'm still expecting the upcoming scene where Varys single-handedly kills every one of the Sand Snakes, all while laying out in excruciating detail (as only he can) the extra trouble he's had to go through making changes to his plans because their bloodthirstiness and lack of foresight led them to kill the brilliant Prince of Dorne who helped him make them.

And I kind of like Ramsay as "cartoonishly evil villain". Not enough of those in stories today. Everyone, especially if they're the villain, has to have "layers" to their character, when sometimes people are just black-heartedly evil.

D&D have been making many cartoonist decisions in the past two years. Not exactly the right story for that.

However, it's not unreasonable to think that sadistic and unrepentant bastards existed in similar settings. No, Ramsay's biggest issue was how ridiculously OP he was. All of his enemies' heads rolled right onto his lap without him lifting so much as a little finger. He also wasn't sophisticated enough to convincingly carry that side of the show to the degree that the showrunners wanted him to.

Ramsay's plot armor was ridiculous. You mean all that heinous shit he pulled over the past seasons haven't caused Northern Houses and Ironborns to be fed up with his shit and put his head on a pike? You mean that there was not a single reasonable figure, other than Roose, in the Bolton House that would voice an objection to him alienating potential allies with his unnecessary acts of cruelty that endanger the House's standing in the kingdom? Seriously?

Roose was in charge, and because he was, Ramsay had leeway to do what he wants. Besides, the northerners were quite the eccentric and brutal bunch. Ramsay's brutality was not directed at the houses in the north. After Roose was murdered, Ramsay had the support of the Karstark and the Umber, which comprised of the largest army in the north. The other houses were too small to do anything, and they were splintered without a central figure to lead them.

The Ironborn were previously driven out by the Boltons, as mentioned this season. They are not very strong on land.

As for Frey's who are the only house besides the Starks to have a beef against him, the Frey's are quite incompetent outside their own home. They would have never made it into the walls of Winterfell before getting wiped out.

That and old Walder showed that he couldn't care less about his kids, only about what makes him and his name look bad. Ramsey killing his fattest daughter (granddaughter, whatever she was) wasn't worth working up the effort to be upset about. That's if he even knew about it before he got his visit from Arya.

Personally I think that both Tyrion and Arya should have died long ago, after the death of Tywin and her separation from the Hound respectively. They've had their character arcs, they've survived odds that are way too ridiculous and they've been clearly granted plot armor comparable only to that of Dany and Jon (which is their cases is kind of inevitable since their role in the story seems to be irreplaceable) just because they're fan/author favorites.

Err what? If they die then what is the point of having them in this story? Every death, aside from minor characters of course, has a reason, a role. Ned's death moved the plot. Robb's death moved the plot. Tywin's death moved the plot. Tyrion's and Arya's deaths now or before have no impact whatsoever to anyone or anything and make the (huge) amount of time invested to them since the beginning meaningless.

Both Tyrion and Arya adapted incredibly well to the world they live in. You could argue Tyrion's had a few too many close shaves (helped mostly by his fascinating combination of appearance, character and lineage), but I think Martin's Arya is a straight up survivor fueled by a destructive vengeance. A demon that she'll have to bury with her mother.
