There are hints here and there saying he is indeed different, he is closer to Alzeid than his siblings. It seems he has similar regeneration power as Alzeid.

Slowly but surely, I am getting through this

Just finished volume 6 so here are some of my thoughts (warning to WMB XD).

Wow...just wow...



Young ALZEID (I will now just use CAPS for his name so it is easily distinguishable) is really something though. He is strong! But at the same time bathed in a lot of blood. He is innocent in the way that he knows nothing but still it doesn't excuse his "evil" personality. His "what I want gets, and if you piss me off you die" side is rather big headed, someone ort to pull his pants down and smack his bum.

Moving back onto Rayborn's case, I really enjoyed his traps. Addy getting tricked everytime then going into TSUN mode was hilarious. One of my favorite jokes must be the "vicious dog" one ~ haha, look at him shiver XD

But...my heart is cramping up, it hurts soo bad. I actually can't believe that Rayborn died so easily *sobs* he was a jerk at first but I grew to like his character, he shouldn't have died (but I guess it was for the emotional impact, and just goes to show how everything won't end up fine as you would imagine, the world isn't THAT perfect ).

And neither can Addy and his brother believe it. I guess at the end they really didn't want to see a normal human die. Dam those farmers! (ALZEID coming to finish off the job of those farmers was scary though).

Rahzel's initial meeting with the doctor was funny. Taylor is hot btw
And I didn't expect that the poison inside Alzeid would have been soo deadly, Kiara sure didn't spare any expense in trying to kill Alzeid off.

But I am surprised that he eventually gave Heat the antidote (but that was after Heat gets pretty hurt). But I suppose not as hurt as getting the virus injected into him like a guinea pig (another golden scene ^^)

Branowen slapping a wet cloth on Alzeid was funny. But that asides I still find the sudden changes in emotion rather "wow". Poor Bran.

And the scene between Heat and Rahzel afterwards was pretty touching too. Heat needs some love ;___;

Though possibly one of the most shocking thing in this volume was revealing that Taylor is actually the wife of Soresta. My jaw must have dropped thinking how she would torture Alzeid, but I never thought that she would bring out the "merchandise" card XD

Alzeid is mentally scarred MUHAHAHA!

I just loved how Heat advertised his products, giving out the phone number as "pi", genius XD

But the end was another cliffhanger (tch). Now how are they going to get out of this one I wonder...

You got to love what Al did after Razhel came back to see him lol. My favorite scenes are at the beginning when Razhel was taking care of Al, from the backpack to the little Razhel having a party in her head

Yeah. Rayborn's death is a huge shocker, to the readers and the characters as well. And Rahzel can't help but feel guilty for sending Rayborn (whose only weapons were his wits and creativity) off to face superpowered assassins—but then it wasn't even them who killed him.

Still, Rahzel's life has been full of danger, and she should've known better than to let a completely non-powerful guy like Rayborn keep hanging around. Right?

This is going to haunt her for a long time.

Personally, I believe Rayborn's death is the best written death scene. It is not just his death alone. But how it so seriously impacted the characters. When Rahzel said that "this number won't ever decrease anymore" line, I feel that I actually heard something inside Rahzel has shattered into pieces. And Al going on that vengeful berserk rage is just another O.o And how Rahzel still constantly feel guilty it even in volume 10 is just. It is just wow, you rarely see a character death has such lasting impact.

The situation didn't allow her to do otherwise though. Alzied would have died for sure if Rayborn wasn't there to distract. The scene where Alzeid tells Rahzel to leave him be was also quite dramatic too. If Rahzel really did leave him to find Rayborn then things may have ended a lot differently.

But this is no one's fault really. He was unlucky ;___:

But it is a heartbreaking event so I guess the author wanted to keep this realism (because honestly, people don't usually forget something so significant).

Just a recommendation. I suggest you pick up the Amatsuki artbook as well if you can.

And from what I can remember from the anime, the changes were quite significant (especially with how Serateed met the others in comparison).

Sorry for the necroposting but I just began reading this manga and it's great. Zero Sum's shoujo manga are pretty good because they focus more on adventure and action rather than romance like most shoujo, but this manga is even better because the characters are really quirky. I love Rahzel, the main character, in particular. She's sassy, funny and can kick major ass. Definitely not you're run of the mill shoujo heroine.
