There are many managers holding management certification without management ability, let alone brains.
Indeed, as you can see here, some bosses are just weird or power mad.

Especially those coming from second-generation money, Asian foreign expatriate level (the usual complaints of the usual 3 countries) or pulled strings to get in.

I had once helped pulled in someone I know into a company while I am in a temporary "leadership" position (i.e covering for my supervisor while he goes golfing). That little ass, thinking that he has me and my supervisor as support, decides to order the people under us (foreign workers) like slaves; in the end I had to join the "recommendation board" for his dismissal because I had enough; as much as I don't like "foreign talent" stealing my jobs, they are still human beings.

I don't know if it is an Asian, or rather, human mentality to flaunt power as a form of image, but I find that there isn't any need to use authority unless it is a messy situation where you don't have time to explain what to do. Often I tell my colleagues wherever I work - a top dog is still a dog. Hence titles and statuses doesn't grant you the right to treat the rest of your pack like trash.

And the army/security line taught me this very well.

Sigh I thought I accidentally banning sex was a stupid as Florida and Rick Scott could get, but today I find out I am wrong.
Florida Accidentally Banned All Computers, Smart Phones In The State Through Internet Cafe Ban
Quote:
When Florida lawmakers recently voted to ban all Internet cafes, they worded the bill so poorly that they effectively outlawed every computer in the state, according to a recent lawsuit.

In April Florida Governor Rick Scott approved a ban on slot machines and Internet cafes after a charity tied to Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll was shut down on suspicion of being an Internet gambling front -- forcing Carroll, who had consulted with the charity, to resign.

Florida's 1,000 Internet cafes were shut down immediately, including Miami-Dade's Incredible Investments, LLC, a café that provides online services to migrant workers, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The owner, Consuelo Zapata, is now suing the state after her legal team found that the ban was so hastily worded that it can be applied to any computer or device connected to the Internet, according to a copy of the complaint obtained by The Miami Herald.

The ban defines illegal slot machines as any "system or network of devices" that may be used in a game of chance.

And that broad wording can be applied to any number of devices, according to the Miami law firm of Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, who worked with constitutional law attorney and Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz.

The suit maintains that the ban was essentially passed "in a frenzy fueled by distorted judgment in the wake of a scandal that included the Lieutenant Governor’s resignation" and declares it unconstitutional.
Seriously they couldn't better define than something as vague as "any "system or network of devices" that may be used in a game of chance."

Wonder how many times this will make Rick Scott taken to court because of poorly thought out laws .

Bin Laden pulled over for speeding eight years before death:

"The hunt for Osama bin Laden might have ended eight years earlier had a
Pakistani traffic policeman spotted the world's most wanted man in a car he had
stopped for speeding."

See:

http://www.theage.com.au/world/bin-l...709-2pmvt.html

================================================== ====

Bin Laden wore a cowboy hat, and 6 other revelations about his life on the run:

"According to bin Laden's relatives who lived with him at the compound, the Al
Qaeda chief had scant possessions. He brought only three summer and three
winter outfits with him into the compound, along with a jacket and two sweaters.

He did, however, have a cowboy hat, which he wore to thwart "detection from
above.""

43-year old woman ejected from a Missouri water park because of her bikini:

The bikini she wore is conservative by my standards.

On the other hand, she's a MILF.

Here's a good one: Man views porn using Safari, files lawsuit against Apple

Quote:
Sevier claims his porn addiction started because of a simple typo in Safari (he was trying to access "facebook.com"). He alleges Apple's porn offering led to unfair competition between his wife and porn stars, which ultimately caused a deteriorating relationship.
That's an interesting way to look at it: unfair competition

Holy cow! This would have been a load of bull if a man hadn't actually died. I guess he had to go steak an early claim on Heaven.

Brazilian man killed in his bed by falling cow
Quote:
Caratinga, Brazil (July 13, Sat): A cow has fallen through the roof of a house in southeastern Brazil, killing a man and narrowly missing his wife.

The one-tonne cow was grazing on a hill behind the small house, in the town of Caratinga, when it stepped onto the asbestos roof, which collapsed under its weight.

Mr Joao Maria de Souza, 45, was lying in bed when the animal fell on him.

He was taken to hospital and died the day after, reportedly of internal bleeding.
