That's a great news. I think eshop was a good idea to sell this game since it's a compilation of mini-games.
So I bought Liberation Maiden : we begin with a gorgeous animated intro by BONES then we have a pretty cool shooter game. However I'm not sure if it's worth paying for everyone since it's short (I've already completed 2 stages and there're 5 stages apparently) and it's rather a scoring game.

It might be one of those games you replay over and over for a better score, then? If it's fun, that shouldn't be a problem. How much does it cost? The article doesn't say (and I don't have a 3DS to check).

I'm somewhat surprised to find that four of Nintendo's older 3DS games are now available to buy and download onto your 3DS:
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Mario Kart 7
  • Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
  • Star Fox 64 3D
The pricing, like NSMB2, is unfortunately fairly crap. There's apparently a tool in the works that will let you transfer your saves from the 3DS card to the digital version.
Still, the ability to conveniently carry Mario Kart 7 and Ocarina (which I don't own yet) with me is tempting...

I gave up on DQ on handheld. SE's insistence on street pass exclusive content means I had to suffer through buying two games and two handhelds because I live in Australia.

Never again. NEVER. AGAIN.

Could you elaborate? For one, this is the first Dragon Quest on 3DS...

But Dragon Quest IX is a DS game. StreetPass is a 3DS feature.

The DS also had a similar feature, but you had to have your game on to make it work.

I started with the DS. I have both jokers and the IX.

I went through extreme measures to obtain street pass content. It is next to impossible to even find a DS owner in Australia let along one with the same game. This included buying a separate cartridge and replaying the introduction hour of gameplay 20 times in a row to get 20 unique IDs.

At this point I have decided that SE does not want me as a customer. They can keep their Dragon Quest in Japan from now on. When they start to make single player games again, let me know.

I hope newer games will make those features available through spotpass as well. They have to accept that a lot of people nowadays live in rural areas. Yes the majority of people live in dense populated communities, but there is a large proportion living outside of it. I mean the internet has connect people around the world, so use it.

But was the StreetPass content actually required? I have the impression that you went through all that trouble just to have everything when you don't have to.

By the same logic, I could buy a 3DS and the new DQ remake. But I don't have to.

So now they lost me as a customer. Because as you say, I don't have to.

If they don't let me have everything, then I don't buy it. I was a sucker the first three times.

I don't have to be "happy with what I am given", I am a paying customer. I mean, I can buy games that I never play for the hell of it too. But why should I?

It is the game company's job to convince me to pay up. Their insistence on street pass content as if everyone lives in Japan is no longer an option for me.

Probably even harder than Streetpassing in Australia.

I find the prospect of a tsundere Pikachu to be both disturbing and yet... oddly accurate.

They should have gotten Rina Satou to do Pikachu; that would have been MORE accurate!

Especially given how Negi's Suka form is a mouse.

(yeah, I know who's being referenced here)
