At the end of episode 1 and 2, we had "informations" about the 4 survivors (maria wanted her mother's love and stuf), there is no thing like this at the end of ep 3 because there is "one" survivor i do not think we have a such thing for ep 4? Maybe there is a point in thoses info..
I know it has alwready been told but, it could mean that "the killer" is dead in ep 3, or wanted eva to survive. For ep 4...well we have "the one who is here"....so someone fake his death too, but did not played beatrice's game with all the parts.
and a totally useless thing.....yes linked to umineko
Spoiler for Higurashi no naku koro ni kizuna dai ni kan sou:
Akasaka's superior's name is kannon XD Yeah...someone is palying with names
Another thing that always bugged me was the scene where Sakutarou showed up in front of Rosa before Maria killed her. Since Beatrice claimed that it's impossible for her to resurrect Sakutarou, it seems weird that he showed up in these fantasy scenes, since they are scenes of what Beatrice claims to have happened. It's also weird as to where the scene took place. Although it doesn't seem like it happened in the dining room, as it seems like it's at the meta-world's tea party place, Rosa's corpse ended up in the dining room with the other family members.
Perhaps it's actually made up by other witches, such as Ange or Maria? Ange, being able to resurrect things, or Maria, just wrote that in her diary for stress relieve?
Spoiler:
I may be wrong but I took that scene when I read (Rosa, Sakutaro) as just a dream Maria was having, after all, right after, it shows Maria waking up and Battler poking fun at her and such... It's not the real Sakutaro, it was just to make Rosa feel bad.
It would be like: the revenge she wanted to have since the time she destroyed Sakutaro.
At the same time Rosa was getting killed in the dining room. Maybe Maria knew the first night was going on and 'imagined' her mother's fate. Well, probably that's not the case.
The scenes with Rosa's boyfriends, wich Maria couldn't know in details, would be just created by Maria (or told by 'Beatrice' to her, in the past) from the many hints Rosa gives (like saying her affairs do not work because of Maria that certainly she must have said someday)
It could also be, as you said, just something written in her diary.
Or just Rosa's punishment in the afterworld/golden village, with [real] Sakutaro. As Ange said, he was not completely 'dead', Maria just tought so, and he's just not visible to Maria.
Probably that's the case

1. Content of the family meeting talk. ep1/2/3 was about spliting the assests, ep4 shifted to confirming Kinzo's death.
2. Rose event...person who gave Maria the Umbrella
3. Lack of emphasis of Beatrice. Ginzo is running the show this time, Beatrice barely was mentioned in the real world.
4. George/Shannon didn't have their meeting
Spoiler:
This time there's also no letter to read at the dinner. Is Kinzo the letter himself?

If memory doesn't fail me this happens after Rosa was killed in the game board, right? We all know Maria is a witch only in the meta world so I think this takes place in there after Rosa left the game board. The only problem is Sakutarou but, his presence can be explained by something either he or Ange said later: he was never dead, he just could no enter "Maria's world" anymore because she was denying his existence as long as she believed he was dead. The reason Rosa saw him may have something to do with the fact that Ange brought him back and herself was in the meta-world at the same time.
Kinzo is dead before each game. The "Kinzo" that shows up in ep4 is someone that is acknowledge as "Kinzo" by all the servants and adults.
It is very confusing that Kinzo was dead before each game.
Spoiler for Kinzo:
Maybe Kinzo gut murdered and someone disguised as Kinzo and played his role? Maybe there was someone else that was deeply addicted to Beatrice? Oh gosh... This is really confusing ^^'' Or maybe... The "false Kinzo" was a friend/sibling to the "real Kinzo". And maybe he had a grudge or something against Kinzo and murdered him to take his role? I don't know anymore <.<
That is not possible. Beato confirmed there is absolutely no possibility for any of the Ushiromiya to mistake someone as Kinzo.
They would see through the disguise etc. Beato stated clearly in red that they "acknowledged the existence of 'Kinzo'".
Maybe they acknolaged something that he left behind?
Like...something like a will or some object that represented him...?
Spoiler for object:
My thoughts exatly... maybe they acknowledged someone with the head's ring as the new head.
Also what if "Kinzo" is sometime used in red text as its pure japanese meaning (hidden treasure or something along those lines) ?
What I think is that somebody actually killed Kinzo before the game...got the ring or what ever else could represent him...it could be that...
Or that they just found this 'thing'.
Does this contradict any of the red text Beato gave?
That problem is that it wouldn't make sense with the siblings, especially Eva and Natsuhi: there must be something that make them reognize that person/thing as "kinzo" beyond the mere golden ring.
They aren't guaranted that the person didn't steal the ring from kinzo's rotten corpse etc.
so some will or extra proof must be factored. Even if the ring is a strong symbol for the Ushiromiya, if it isn't appropriately inherited, it doesn't mean anything.
I personally liked Episode 4 a lot, more than Episode 3.
So currently, Episode 4 > Episode 3 >>>>> Episode 1 > Episode 2, for me.
Also, we got a slew of red text this time, which is good. It makes it harder to imagine what happened, but it also makes it more likely we'll come up with the true answers.
Well then, time to start. Excuse my weird way of wording.
Spoiler for Theories:
Spoiler for First Game:
Spoiler for Pre-First Twilight:
Mysteries:
- Letter and umbrella given to Maria
- Rudolph's "I'm going to die."
Time: 18:00 of October 4th
This is still simple. Anyone could go up to Maria claiming to be Beatrice, and she would probably believe it. There are even a thousand other things they could do.
As for the letter itself, this letter happened in the first through third games, so more importantly than Maria getting something from Beatrice is this letter.
The point of the letter definitely has to be to draw their attention to the riddle of the epitaph. If people just started being killed, they might not make the connection to the witch. So, for some reason, culprit X wants the people to think they are being killed by a witch, and to solve the riddle.
Spoiler for First Twilight:
Casualties: Krauss, Rudolph, Kyrie, Rosa, Shannon, and Gohda
MO:
- Complete face smash: Rudolph, Kyrie, Rosa, and Gohda
- Half face smash: Krauss and Shannon
Mysteries:
- Why did the culprit return the key?
- Why did they want to draw attention to that place?

- Regarding corpses with unknown identities, all of their identities are guaranteed. Therefore, no body double tricks exist!
Time: Between 0:00 and 6:00 of October 5th
I think in this case, they wanted it to be discovered for sure, because I still think that their "body" is in the shutter.
In other words, I'll use Hempel's Raven on the red text.
Corpse with unknown identity = identity guaranteed
Therefore, corpse with known identity = identity not guaranteed.
In other words, I still think it's possible for Krauss or Shannon to be fake corpses. I might be prooven wrong, but I'll stick with this as my main theory until then.
There are also several ways to substitute a corpse. For example, if Krauss toke Kinzo's corpse, and dyed it's hair the same as his hair, and changed the style. Since they are father and son, they probably look alike. As for Nanjo's autopsy, he probably didn't check every corpse in the room, just one. He also could have been bribed.
Alternatively, Krauss could have used some form of makeup to make his face appear like this. Though, then, Natsuhi would have to unlock the door for him to be able to get out. But in this case, it wouldn't be a "body double trick".
Alternate Culprit Theory: I think Kanon is also suspicious in this chapter, because he is never proclaimed dead in red. Plus, he is the one who discovered the magic circle. So I also think Kanon could have done this, though I find it a bit hard to believe he would murder Shannon.
Spoiler for Second Twilight:
Casualties: Eva and Hideyoshi
MO:

Mysteries:
- How did the culprit get out while the chain was still on? Or how did the culprit put the chain on while outside?
Related Red Text:
- The two were killed by other people
- It is not the case that after the creation of the closed room, one committed suicide after committing murder! Furthermore, the one who carried out the murders did so in the same room as the victims! No method exists for the person who carried out murder to do so from outside the room!
Time: Probably sometime after 19:00 of October 5th
There are several theories I can think of. For example, if Natsuhi was helping Krauss, it's possible that Krauss left through the window, then when Natsuhi entered the room, she followed up behind him and locked the window.
This probably wouldn't be seen, because everyone was focusing on the dead bodies. Furthermore, I wonder if the steam from the shower could be covering up something. It's suspicious, because if Eva had been killed, Hideyoshi would have heard it, and probably come out of the shower. Therefore, I suspect there's a possibility he could be placed there. (it wasn't really described how he was in the bathtub, so he might have been shot and stumbled back in)
Alternate Culprit Theory: If Kanon did the killings, it works in the same way, only he doesn't need anyone to close the windows for him. As soon as he opens the door, he can do it himself, though doing it instantly might be suspicious.
Spoiler for Fourth and Fifth Twilight:
Casualties: Kinzo and Kanon
MO:
- Burned and pierced
Mysteries:
- How Kanon was killed
Related Red Text:
- All survivors have alibis!! That also includes the dead!! In other words, no humans or dead people on the island could have killed Kanon! Kanon did not commit suicide.
- Kanon did not die in an accident.
Time: Probably sometime around 20:00 or 21:00 of October 5th
The events leading up to Kanon's death and slightly after are suspicious to me. First, there was a door slammed, as if to lure someone their on purpose, rather then sneak away. Second, the door being slightly open as if the culprit was in a hurry, but the two doors outside were both perfectly closed apparently.
In other words, I wonder if Kanon was killed with a trap. For example, say if the door was tied back more then it should be with the stake somehow attached. Kanon stepping towards the door could cause it to "snap" and the door would go forward with a huge momentum and send the stake forward. I'm not sure if there is anyway to do this, but it's just a thought.
Alternate Culprit Theory: Kanon didn't really die, though how he got the wounds, I don't know. Of course, this would mean Nanjo would have to be an accomplice or Kanon would have to be able to hide signs of lividity.
Spoiler for Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Twilights:
Casualties: Kumasawa, Genji, and Nanjo
MO:
- Complete face smashing
Mysteries:

- Maria, who was in the same room, did not kill them! And, of course, they were killed by other people! Regarding corpses with unknown identities, all of their identities are guaranteed. Therefore, no body double tricks exist!
- Genji, Kumasawa, and Nanjo are not murderers.
Time: Around 23:00, most likely, of October 5th.
If this was Krauss with Natsuhi, I imagine he could have gotten her to slip the letter onto the stand. We have no reason to trust her word.
Alternate Culprit Theory: Kanon is the same, if we assume Nanjo is an accomplice, he could have gotten him to do it.
Once either of them have lured them out, it's easy to trick Maria and then kill the other 3.
The motive for not killing Maria is either to not overkill until the others discover the twilights, or to use the phone trick to lure everyone else out. The culprit was probably waiting in the parlor for the people who would be lured out for the remaining twilight. It isn't hard to predict "If they get evicted from the safest place, they'll go to the next safest place."
One thing I'm curious about is why they went back to the same MO as the first twilight, however...
Mysteries:
- Contents of Natsuhi's letter
- Why it was made to seem like Natsuhi shot herself
- What happened to the four children
- Message in a bottle
Related Red Text:
- Natsuhi was killed by another person. There were absolutely no corpses of unknown identity, and all survivors had alibis! The bullet buried in Natsuhi's head was not fired by Natsuhi's gun!
- The thing that shot Natsuhi was not a trap, but a real shooting murder with a readied gun and a pulled trigger!
Time: Around 23:55 of October 5th
Mirroring my theory, it'd be easy for Krauss to place a letter that only Natsuhi could find and lure her out. Though, maybe, her being shot wasn't planned, and was because Natsuhi could no longer bear the guilt of helping. I'm not sure how Kanon could of done the same thing, but he probably could of shot Natsuhi while she was startled.
As for the four children, I'm not sure. They may have been taken to Kuwadorian, for some reason.
The message in the bottle is even more mysterious, since we know the Beatrice who Maria knows wrote this message. Why did this person want to send these two bottles out?
Summary: I believe Krauss and Natsuhi or Kanon and Nanjo are the culprits. It's easy to explain everything with these pairs.
Spoiler for Second Game:
Spoiler for Pre-first Twilight:
Mysteries:
- Beatrice showing herself
This episode is notable as being the only episode where people actually confirm seeing Beatrice. As I said, I think in this case, Jessica and/or Eva are playing Beatrice. Jessica trying to matchmake Shannon and George. And, after Kanon's harshness towards her is also when Beatrice started talking about how sweet love tragedy is. Maria's Beatrice is probably Rosa, but I'm not sure about Kyrie's Beatrice.
Mysteries:
- How the culprit killed them all, escaped, and locked the door.
Related Red Text:
- Ignoring the fact of if they were living or dead. The six of them definitly walked through that door.
- Only one key to the chapel exists!
- As for locking the chapel, it's completly impossible with any key other than the chapel's!!
- There is no method to enter or exit the door of the chapel when it is locked!!
- The six people certainly entered from "this front door"!!
- This morning, Rosa removed an envelope from Maria's purse and thereby obtained the genuine key to the chapel.
- The contents of the envelope which I gave to Maria was certainly the key to the chapel.
- The envelope which I gave to Maria, and the one Rosa opened are the same envelopes!!
- From the time Maria received her key, until the next day, at the instant when Rosa opened the letter, the key did not pass through anyone's hands!! Other than Kinzo's study, no door with an auto-lock exists! By the time the six were found, they had all already died. All were killed by other people! All six were genuine victims, and were not related to each others' murders! No mutual murders existed!! No one was hiding in that chapel. Therefore, the 'staying shut in' closed room doesn't work.
- When the six who were in the chapel were killed, the culprit was in the chapel!
Time: 0:00 to 6:00 of October 5th
Lots of red text.
As far as this goes, I think that Rosa killed them (she was with them in the chapel with Beatrice, but she never mentioned a thing), and she got Maria to lock the door for her and reseal the envelope. Putting aside the "so they think it's a witch", this also makes it so she doesn't leave her fingerprints on the key. Possibly her killing them, and them being 6 was a coincidence, and something happened that made her kill them. I wonder if she solved the epitaph, and wanted them to reconize her, but they wouldn't, so she ended up killing them.
JEssica could have also killed them, still upset about Kanon.

- Only the servants carry a master key, one to each of them.

- The window is locked from the inside.
- Kanon was killed in this room.
- Entry and exit is impossible when the door is locked.
- There is no device that can lock the door from the outside without the key.
- There are no hidden doors in this room.
- You cannot enter or exit other than through the door or window.
- At the time of the discovery of Jessica's corpse, the only people in the room were Battler, George, Maria, Rosa, Genji, Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, and Nanjo.
- Of course, that includes Jessica.
- Therefore, in both the case of Jessica's room and the servant's room, there were no other humans that you weren't aware of.
Time: Around 6:50 ~ 7:00 of October 5th
What if Kanon saw Jessica, and somehow, got reminded she was playacting Beatrice, so he thought "Beatrice is going to kill Jessica", so he killed her first, when in fact she was Jessica. Jessica, not dead, said something to Kanon like "Please... Don't be Kanon the furniture..." effectivly "killing Kanon". It's a bit of tricky wording, and may be wrong, though. Once again, this concidently lined up with the "Second Twilight", and Kanon now wanted to go to the Golden Land where he could have Jessica back.
As for how he got out and locked the door, I'm not sure. Possibly Jessica locked it for him, when he left.
Alternate Theory: Jessica killed Kanon, hid his body, and pretended to be dead somehow. Possibly bribing Nanjo. This is also a possibility, but I can't really explain Kanon's Double with this theory, since before the red text of Episode 4, I thought Jessica might have been dressed as Kanon.
Another Alternate Theory: Rosa killed Jessica, but Jessica killed Kanon, like in my above theory, and Kanon escaped with a bad wound. Though, then I can't think of a solid motive for the next twilights. But with this theory, it would explain why Kumasawa and Nanjo's MOs are different from the rest.
Another Another Alternate Theory: Jessica and Kanon both weren't truly dead and worked together.

- No one was hidden.
- There is no method which can unlock the door from the outside without using the key.
- As for the window, no method exists to lock it from the outside.
- They would definitely not mistake another person for Kanon.

Time: Between 13:00 and 13:17
Assuming my first or third theory are correct, then it's easy to break through this wall of red text. With the second theory, it's a bit harder, and the only way I could think of is if Jessica was using Kanon's corpse as a puppet somehow.
With my first theory, Kanon killed them to go to the Golden Land and be reunited with Jessica. Though I don't really have a clue how he would lock the doors. With my second theory, I'm not sure how Jessica would "get Kanon to kill them". As for the third, Kanon had escaped from Rosa, and tried to warn them, however he was delirious from blood lose. There is also a possiblity he was helping the sacrificed, in order to go to the Golden Land and get Jessica.
Another idea is that Kanon and Rosa were working together.
As for how the door got locked, I'm having a bit of trouble with that. If you're someone who believes that when Beatrice speaks in part red part white, part of it is a lie, you can assume she never technically said the Servant's Room Keys are in the key box.
If Rosa is the culprit, it's easy for her, she just has to pretend to pick up the letter. If she is accomplished with Kanon, it's a bit more complex. Kanon placed the letter somewhere outside the door and Rosa picked it up, then pretended it was in the room.
As for if the culprit is just Jessica or just Kanon, that's a bit more difficult. I haven't come up with a solution in regards to this, other then them working with, say like Gohda.

- There are only five master keys, however 'Rosa' has them all!
- I'll also say, the parlor is the same.
- The original key to the parlor is closed off in the servant's room.
- Therefore, unlocking it without the master key is impossible! The closed room definition is the same as always!
- All of the master keys were under Rosa's control.
- After Rosa came to control the master keys, not once did they leave her hands! Except for the time that she lent it to Battler to unlock Natsuhi's room.
Time: Between 18:00 and 21:00
If we assume Rosa and Kanon are in kahoots, Kanon killed the three, hid in the room (never denied this time), and Rosa placed the letter before they left the parlor.
Rosa could do all of this herself, but I'm not sure how she would be able to talk her way out of the parlor to Natsuhi's room. It's possible that she used the sedatives she had in Episode 3 to put Battler and Maria to sleep.
Asfor if only Kanon is the culprit, once again, Natsuhi's locked room has me stumped. With the parlor, I believe he could use his ability to move quickly and quietly. Sneak in while they were leaving and sneak out when they came back in.
Summary: I have a ton of culprit theories on this. Kanon, Jessica, or Rosa. Any combination of the three. Kanon and Rosa makes explaining the closed rooms easier, but I can't think of a motive for them to actually work together.
Spoiler for Third Game:
Well, I'm going to present the "obvious solutions", where Eva is the culprit, however, I also have another theory, which involves Kasumi killing Kyrie before she came to the island and taking her place. It's also possible that both were the culprit, with Kasumi responsible for the first twilight, and Hideyoshi and George's death along with Nanjo's
Also remember, Kasumi was show to be with "Eva-Beatrice" in Episode 4.

In other words, all keys related to the linked closed rooms were shut up inside the linked closed rooms!! There was no way to return the keys from the outside using things like cracks in the doors, cracks in the windows, or air vents. All of them had signs of fatal wounds that resembled gunshot wounds! Murder from outside the room was impossible!! And I'll say even more in red! When the 5 people other than Kinzo were murdered, the murderer was definitely in the same room! I already said at the time that non of them committed suicide!!
Time: Between 0:00 and 6:00 of October 5th
I should have thought of Battler's theory for this, seeing as I made a similar theory in Episode 2, heh.
Well, that is one possibility, and I think my theory of simply padlocking the boiler room's second door and going out through one of the two other doors would work. It might not be too far fetched to say they forgot the door too. In Episode 1, Natsuhi had to ask Genji where the door lead to.
As for the six doors being painted, you could paint the design on a piece of paper and "stamp" it to the doors, though you might have to repaint it over a bit, since the paint will lose wetness the more it's used, but it can still be done fairly quickly.
This can be done with Eva or Kasumi.

Under the Kasumi side, Possibly "Kyrie" went to the bathroom for a few minutes, and was able to sneak out and kill Maria and Rosa and then sneak in.
I also wonder if Kasumi were somehow manipulating Eva into thinking she was committing these crimes. Perhaps the whole coronation of the witch is actually something Kasumi manipulated into Eva to make her think she is committing these crimes. Or otherwise manipulate her into atually doing the crimes.

Eva's side is obvious once again, she snuck away and then killed them. She has no alibi.
As for Kasumi's side, we could say the reason she lured them away from the house wasn't to question Hideyoshi, but to bring out sacrifices. In fact, one thing is suspicious:
Red Text: She didn't tell anyone the reason she changed her mind
However, we're also shown she did in fact tell Rudolph about the cigarette. This may not be true, but I thought it was worth pointing out. In this case she didn't tell Rudolph the "true" reason.
Furthermore, Kyrie's TIP is as suspicious as Hideyoshi's if you look at it. "The stomache isn't a lethal spot" She might have faked her death. Furthermore, if she managed to bring Kyrie's corpse, then she could place it there. Also, Kasumi is a smoker, so it would also explain Kyrie having a cigarette.

She then kills them, drags them away, and then she enters, again, locking the door, and plans on leaving through a window where she meets George, but she lures him out to Shannon.

This is simple with either theory. Eva as the culprit, someone was still alive and killed Nanjo.
Kasumi as the culprit, she killed everyone, but Eva might have gone crazy at this point and killed Battler herself.
Jessica might have just been illusionating Kanon, and because she didn't want to be "wakened from her dream", she was able to use her memory to guide herself through the Mansion.

This includes an 18th person. In other words, no 18th person X exists!! This applies to all games!!!
- All who were at the family conference acknowledged Kinzo's existence! No person would mistake Ushiromiya Kinzo for someone else by sight. No matter what the disguise, they would not mistake Ushiromiya Kinzo!
No matter how I look at this it's weird. Through the first three games, everyone seemed to be expecting an 18th person. If they acknowledged one of themselves as Kinzo, it was probably that day. Which leads me to believe, I wonder if someone had solved the epitaph, and unlike what Eva did, they announced it, so they effectively became Kinzo. I think the most likely is Kyrie, because she's smart, and I have a slight suspicion she's the culprit.
Furthermore, Krauss and Natsuhi are also suspect, because perhaps Krauss could say "Kinzo is dead, however, that doesn't matter because I am the next head."
It's also interesting to note how different this is from the way she says it to Kanon.
"They would definitely not mistake another person for Kanon."
"No person would mistake Ushiromiya Kinzo for someone else by sight."
With Kanon, it's definite, but with Kinzo it's not. It might be possible, say, they heard a voice, and mistaked it as Kinzo's. Krauss may have talked from the other side of a door, or used a tape recorder.
Futhermore, I think the phone calls need to be taken with extreme caution. There are many ways they could be faked. For example, threatening the person to say it, or if they could manage to imitate the person's voice.
Spoiler for First Twilight:
Casualties: Natsuhi, Eva, Hideyoshi, Genji, Rudolph, Rosa
MO:
- Face in half.
Mysteries:
- "Magical" Occurrences.
Well, for one thing, the Siesta's shoots could be misdirection. For example, shooting something golden, but then shooting their face with something else. This could give the illusion that the golden item caused the damage.
As for the pitfalls, there is the "instant posion" explanation.
However, what if the coffee they were drinking was drugged instead? For example, Rosa's anesthetic that she carries around to calm down Maria. Enough of this could knock them out, and also make them really tired. In a state of tiredness, the mind begins to see things that aren't there. After killing so many people, while ranting about magic, they began to see it. In a way, sort of like hypnosis. By telling them they see something while they are tired, it would go through into their subconcious, and "become a memory", and in this way, everyone would believe that they saw the same thing. Furthermore, you could also hypnotize someone like this, "Everytime I shoot this gun, you will see it as a golden thread that moves like a snake."
I have several more theories!
For one thing, the phonecalls are also suspicious, because they might have been told to say all that, aswell as Gohda and Kumasawa. A simple threat to the children could cause them to say whatever the culprit wanted, no matter how mysterious it was.
And, going back to Kinzo, it's possible they used a tape recorder of some kind.
Spoiler for Second Twilight:
Casualties: Jessica and George
MO:
- Shoot in the head
- Half-Face Smash
Mysteries:
- Jessica's call
- Jessica and George "killing each other"
I wonder if the culprit tricked them into having a shootout with each other. "Your test is to kill my accomplice"
So, Jessica managed to shoot George in the forehead, and George might have hit Jessica in the side of the face. Either way, Jessica is completely shocked at having killed George. She goes to her room, locks the door, calls Battler, and then in despair, smashes her own face to kill herself, rips the wound open that George gave her, or shoot herself with the gun flying under the bed or something. The culprit came and cleaned up the mess.
Spoiler for Fourth through Eighth Twilight:
Casualties: Kanon, Shannon, Nanjo, Krauss, Kyrie
MO:
- Face Smashing
- Huge Hole in Kanon
- Shot in the Head
Mysteries:
- Kyrie's phone call
Related Red Text:
- Kanon is dead. He was the first to die in Kyrie's group of 5. In other words, he is the ninth victim.
Well, obviously the culprit chased them down and killed them. This is one of the big reasons I believe Kyrie is the culprit. Everyone who Battler found had their face smashed, we don't know how Kanon was killed, but Kyrie had a simple bullet in her head. She might have come to her senses and killed herself, after talking to Battler. The reason she wanted him to not question that it was magic, was because she didn't want him to know she killed everyone.
Using my tape recorder theory, it's possible everyone was already dead except the culprit.
However, if we assume that they really broke out of the prison, I can explain it like this. Kanon really did have a burner, and heated up the bars. Then he let them sit in the dungeon that is said to be "extremlly cold". When something goes from hot to cold, then it weakens. In this way, with a sword or something, Kanon could "slice through the metal bars like butter. Once they started escaping the dungeon, where it would be warmer, Kanon started taking longer to break the bars.
Mysteries:
- Maria's Clean Corpse
- Gohda and Kumasawa's deaths
- Battler's Death
Related Red Text:
-Ushiromiya Battler. After this point in time, I will kill you. And right now, there is no one on this island other than you. The only one alive on this island is you. Nothing outside the island can interfere in any way. You are all alone on this island. And of course, I am not you. However, I am here now, and will kill you.
As for Maria, she might have ended up eatting the posion that was used for the "pitfalls", and then probably mourned her mother, and died in that peaceful state.
Gohda and Kumasawa. I think the fact that they were hung is important to the scheme of killing them. There are also several things to point out. For one thing, we don't know for sure if the storehouse door is even locked. Battler never tried to open it, and it was never confirmed with red. Battler just made the assumption it was locked. Another thing, Even if it was locked it could be something like this. While escaping from the culprit, a victim (or possibly the culprit himself, assuming Kinzo was only "heard") tried to get Gohda and Kumasawa to help them. They handed that person the key, however, the culprit reached there (or was the one who they gave the key) and killed them. Then, they switched the key to a different one, leaving the storehouse tag on the fake key, and taking the real one.
As for Battler, this is a bit tricky, and like Kanon's Zombie, relies on a bit of word playing, I wonder if Beatrice is "Belief". No one believed Battler was alive after seeing the 17 corpses, so in effect, he was "killed".
Furthermore, what Kyrie said earlier, about "missing for 9 years then being legally dead", so since no one ever found Battler, he eventually became legally dead. He was killed off because so many people believed he was dead.
Spoiler for Battler's Mother:
Just a small side section, but I find it hard to really see how Battler could be Kyrie's son, with the miscarriage and all. It certainly would be nice though. I think he might be a son of a third woman, though.
Summary: I believe Kyrie is the most likely culprit. It could also be Krauss, Kanon, or Nanjo. The Kanon as the culprit theory seems popular because Kanon's corpse was not found. But even if you use the wordplay I used in the Second Episode on the red text, at the end of the game Beatrice declares "noone is on this island, but I do not think Kanon could escape with the thyphoon raging.
Spoiler for Seven Sins Theory:
I wonder if the sins are going to correspond with the reasons for the killings. If there are 8 episodes and we assume the 8th one is the "happy ending", that makes seven episodes of killing. And for example, if Krauss is the culprit in the first one, it could be because of "pride", since his siblings were slowly cornering him.
If Kanon were the culprit in Episode 2, a possibility is that it's "Wrath", or Rosa could be "Greed" or "Sloth" (I say sloth, because she really does need money, but she's always spending a lot of time with other men instead of actually trying to make her company successful.)
Kasumi in Episode 3 could be "Envy", or Eva could be "Greed"
I'm not sure how you would kill for Gluttony. I guess we'll have to wait for Magical Gohda Chef for the answer to that.
Here is a list of all of Episode 2 and 3's red text.

地に足の付いた人間が、凶器をかざし、それにて殺した!眼前にて! (Spoken by Eva-Beatrice)
(A human, with their feet on the ground, held up a weapon and killed him! Right infront of his eyes!)
Interesting to notice that Beatrice never reded the sanctuary or the rooms of EP3 as secret rooms, that is, no hidden doors/secret passages. So, they are as good as a piece of cheese as secret rooms. Even though I think this is one of those theories that will eventually be broken.
And Kasumi taking Kyrie's place is a bit too... extreme.
Wouldn't Rudolf recognize her?
I know Kinzo is already dead before the game start but did it ever mention when he dead?Is there a chance the sin that Battler commit and cause a death is the one that cause kinzo's death. The person thats kinzo right now might have love or idolize the real kinzo which might cause him or her to hate Battler deeply enough to kill the whole family. If kinzo is dead for 6 year i guess the fake kinzo does have to time to make himself/herself become like kinzo to the point that everyone recognize he/her as the real kinzo.
Well its just my guess.Don't see alot of theory around what might have been battler's sin is but with so little info this is what pop up when i think what makes the emeny hate battler so much.
And Kasumi taking Kyrie's place is a bit too... extreme.
Wouldn't Rudolf recognize her?
Spoiler:
It might be a bit extreme Still if she knows about Kinzo's gold, it would be a lot of motivation.
As for Rudolph knowing, I'm not sure. I think it'd be possible for Kasumi to pass as Kyrie, seeing as how between the time they go to the island, tothe time Rudolph is killed is a rather short period. This is added with the fact that Rudolph apprantly didn't tell Kyrie much about his situation, and after a bit of time they became more focused on killings. It's really just an alternate theory I made against the obvious Eva is the culprit, even though I still think that theory is very possible.
it's a good theory to say that to effectively "become" Kinzo, solving the epitaph is the only obvious method. As for someone claim him/herself to be the new Kinzo with the will of the old Kinzo, other relatives would doubt the authentity of the will and will not recognize the solver. Or perhaps there is another secret rule known to the relatives that a new Kinzo may be establisehd and all must recognize it.
>.< the witch and her word plays >.<
now we might get someone with triple identity... oneself + Beatrice + Kinzo :x

I guess it'd be easier to just suppose Kyrie is the criminal and used Kasumi's corpse
Now that you mentioned that stuff about 7 years to be legally dead (you wrote 9 years), I started to wonder if Battler's sin from 6 years ago could be related to this deadline, besides that math I did (Beatrice died in 1968+Battler/Jessica being born in 1968).
And;
With EP3+EP4, it's strongly suggested that Eva found the gold through the underground tunnel in the water well.
Any idea on how the riddle could lead someone to the well?

Spoiler for Theory:
Mayhaps, it has something to do with the first couple lines. "My beloved hometown, the sweetfish river running through it, You who seek the Golden Land, follow its path downstream"
I guess, if you maybe were to assume that on a physical level and not on the meta world level, that the Golden Land is the gold, the 'river' could be a reference to the fact that if Eva did find the gold through a tunnel in the well, that there is, or was water running through said tunnel. And if the tunnels are extensive enough, they might reach beneath the mansion.
But don't take me seriously- I'm just going off what you said and what the epitaph says.
