I think Yasushi thumb up to Ciel really saved him. Imagine if he didn't thumb up, maybe Liam subordinate will think that Yasushi planning something. But with that thumb up, it make impression that Yasushi is serious person that got fooled by Ciel.

It's not really betrayal actually.
Kurt's sister, Ciel saw Liam's true nature and want to expose him. She believed everyone was deceived by him.
So she started doing a thing behind with no success.
But when everything was revealed, her family was terrified of this. Liam has been helping them since Liam and Kurt become best friend.
Her family tried think how to appease Liam.
Kurt believe removing her from Liam's house will be better and he would change his gender. (Basically he tried to take advantage of this). But Liam forgive her because he find amusing and let her do her thing again.

Actually the sister started with hatred towards Liam since her brother idolizes him (and brocon), it doesn't help that Liam "plays" with her
