Hmm, so nice! I've really missed this! Really loved to see what the characters are up to and the small banter they're having in that crazy city. I hope the new characters will be nice as well. Can't wait for things to get really crazy.
Do we need more urban legends currently? Hollywood-san is funny though. |

Count this among one of the premieres I've been most excited for in my anime-watching history, especially since little else in the industry can come close to replicating the breadth of Narita's works. Everything about this first episode was so incredibly nostalgic, and the staff behind this definitely knew that. (The credit being Omori and his team's; it still feels like we're watching Brain Base at the helm.)
It's a fitting start, and it's heartening to know that we'll still have an year of Durarara in store. Last edited by com_gwp; 2015-01-12 at 20:21. |

I've been really excited about this, and it didn't disappoint. The essence of the first season is still there and that's a big, big plus. I felt like watching the first episode of the first season, there was no change at all and I love that. The staff did an awesome job at making this so nostalgic to watch.
That said, it was a great start. An introductory chapter that shows how eccentric Ikebukuro can be. Also, those references of Mahouka and Majutsu. Can't wait for next episode. |

For whatever reasons the first season of Durarara never really clicked with me ... I could tell it was well done and had an interesting story and a huge cast of characters and all that, but.... Ah well.
Anyway, I decided to give ep 01 of s2 a try and actually kinda enjoyed it. No idea if I will be able to keep following it or no, but for now I will give a few more eps a try.

Really glad to be back in Ikebukuro.
Overall, it was a good episode, but more or less an introduction back into the world. Which is to be expected with so much that went on last season. I'm just excited to see more since not much happened this week. |

As com qwp said this actually 39 episodes split over 3 cours. Personally after refreshing mind about the events in Vol 4-6, I'm a bit worried about Shuka putting all that into 13 episodes like I think they might. Vol 5 and 6 in particular are fairly dense and there quite a bit backstories, nuances throughout all 3 books that might not get across depending on the pacing, but then again they could have done S1's first half (which was the entirely of Vol 1 mixed some of Vol 2 and one stand alone episode) in like 5 episodes and still possibly have room for the other two. So I'm just going to trust that Omori knows what he's doing here. Last edited by Iron Maw; 2015-01-14 at 09:14. |
