In the anime episode 2 i heard styil say that the book of law was written by someone that wasn't Crowley but i forgot there name. Im posting this so someone can remind me the name and see if anyone knows if that name was important in Our universe like Aleister Crowley

A mistake here. Fiamma's enemy is the "world" in this case. He has default the setting on the Holy Right to make the world his enemy. This is why he need WW3, he needs to fill the world with anguish and hatred, so his Holy Right has a planet of negative emotion to teat it as enemy.

This is why Fiamma is losing his battle with Touma. WW3 didn't brought forth enough grudges and hatred, further, having Fiamma as world's common enemy, everyone become united instead. Thus the world is gradually losing its negative emotion, and with its enemy weakened, Holy Right loses output.

The huge blast that can destroy Eurasia is Fiamma's final draw to turn the table. He collected all the remaining Telesma from the golden sky to annihilate Eurasia. With Eurasia devastated, the people of the world would out to despair and the world will once again be filled with negative emotions.

To put it simply, Fiamma's power has already been drastically reduced by that point.

No, the IB is not like the Holy Right. It can negate up to a certain amount of magic/esper power and no more. (At least, up until vol. 22, after vol.22 all bets are off) This is seen with the fight against Accelerator where he can't negate the wings.

The IB is probably bringing only bad luck upon Touma- but not enough bad luck to die. To die would bring no luck, and thereby a anti-theme against bad luck, and thereby not tolerated (purely conjecture).

IB still has a upper limit at this point. Touma survived Fiamma's attack as Touma by learning not just canceling enemy attack, but change their directions as well. Then the fact that Fiamma was getting weakened as Star of Bethlehem getting dismantled and the world getting united; Fiamma's attack isn't as lethal to Touma as it would be.

Though, on the topic whether Touma can manipulate his IB like Holy Right, is a question too early to ask. Holy Right has been properly refined with all the necessary materials. While IB has been left in its starting state.

I was more talking about The Age of Ma'at on the last page, which was a age that one of Aliester Crowley's students said would come after The Age of Horus. Aliester had a different name for the Fourth Age, but I forget the name of it. I'm not sure if the concepts of the age's are the same though.

Just pointing out a tidbit from the novel, 'Edward Alexander' is just another name Aleister Crowley goes by for one reason or another - Refer to Volume 7 Chapter 2 for details.

This is what the Aeon of Osiris means, just like Accelerator's despair, hatred and sadness brings him more power through his "Black Wings", Fiamma followed the same path.

The difference is done when Accelerator changes his views and gained in exchange White Wings and a halo.

My guess is if Fiamma changes his views there is no doubt the way how Holy Right manifests into this world will change. Maybe the mirage bird claw will turn into something different.

And WOW, the events keep one-upping each other:

- Shiage pulls off a speech worthy of Touma, convincing Mugino not to fight anymore. No more should they have to do the dirty work of adults (like the Bosses of ITEM and SCHOOL), and he promises to protect her (This is AFTER he found Mugino's been damaged not just in her eye and arm, but a ton of other modifications was made to her insides and she's literally falling to pieces).
Even though Mugino says that's not possible, due to what she has done, killing Frenda and trying to kill him and Rikou... not to mention he has already chosen Rikou over her. Shiage acknowledges all that, but says if she makes amends then everything will be fine. He promises that though he has chosen Rikou, he'll still protect all of them, Rikou, Mugino and Saiai; so they can go back to being ITEM again. Mugino laughed, saying a Level 0 like him is going to protect a Level 5 like her - but she's glad he thinks like that.
Then Academy City forces arrived to eliminate Mugino due to her failure.

(side note: Shiage acknowledges Mugino is probably the most attractive member of ITEM)

-Vassilisa, Sasha's boss, is a immortal witch - and she went and took down Nikolai, Fiamma's 'partner' that ordered the nuclear strikes on Star of Bethlehem. Nikolai tried to use a h4x spell specifically designed to take her down, and it took years of preparation, but it turns out it does NOTHING to her - Vassilisa is like the equivalent of 'High Daylight Walker' (see Negima) vampire in this series.

- Touma's part fighting against Fiamma, already translated from before;

AND FINALLY; back when Aiwass stabbed Accelerator with his wings, Aiwass gave Accel some knowledge that provides the basis of his angel song - ie EVERYTHING is 'just as planned' to Aiwass :jawdrop:


There's more, but I'm too incapacitated by the fangasm to post anymore - when I calm down somewhat I'll post more later.

- Fiamma's right hand can destroy some of the other Satellite lasers Academy City sent up without anyone knowing when fired down at Fiamma. And Fiamma pulled out some spells Index had memorised to fight Touma.
-Touma learned to deflect any spell that he can't erase with his right hand alone. And he can sense people teleporting behind him and block a incoming attack (yes, Fiamma can teleport somehow).

-It's confirmed that Index's red wings are like a angel's.
-Frey's sword that Index is using is said to be undefeatable, and Frey only lost in Ragnorak because he have that sword to someone else in that war.

-Kazakiri left Russia because Academy City forcibly recalled her back, not because of running out of power or anything

So we got another "lucky bastard" (well he proclaimed it himself!) here. So the beam Shiage got hit with was REALLY THE BEAM OF LOVE! XD

... I knew she's a very powerful Electromaster, but this is starting to make me think how that power is so much like a monster and yet she's still one of the most gentle and kind Level 5s in this series! AND DAMN ADORABLE WHEN TOUMA MAKES HER BLUSH! :shock:

I didn't care much about the other part even though it's interesting but I had already some few ideas related to that

though this one is surprising. An immortal finally shows up and clearly saying an immortal. An immortal witch and an equivalent of Eva in this series.

Wow just shows how strong those in the higher positions.

For anyone who wonder how he's doing that, it's just another output of the Holy right.

Speaks about the basic rule of the Holy right.
If IB is an absolute power for deleting and canceling all supernatural power, Holy right is the absolute power of defeating and conquering everything.


It's output is depends on how strong the target is, the Holy right will always unleash the power that's suitable in defeating its target.
The target itself is not only a living entity but also any distress, trial and concepts too(such as humanity's malice or the distance).

With the unlimited power it has, this ability is enough to be able to be called omnipotence in fighting aspect.
The teleport thing is happen from the fact that he designate "a distance" to be his target.
Because of that, things that normally need in a fight such as power,speed,interval and etc are not necessary for Fiamma, Just swings the hand and the victory becomes his.

That's why the name of the first chapter of this volume is called "Broken Right Hand".

Technically, Aiwass didn't give Accelerator any knowledge. Aiwass just stabbed him, and that is enough in itself.

Kazakiri told Accelerator that the original song by Index is targeted against her, so it does not automatically apply to Aiwass. Accelerator has to reconstruct the song to work against Aiwass. She told the data of the song is preserved in Last Order's own brain, and then she pinted out Accelerator already has the data of Aiwass he need to update the song.

Accelerator then come to realize the true nature of his power... which is.. well... accelerator. As in those quantum simulator we find in real life. He can input all the necessary data than begin calculating and begin simulating on what is true base on those data.
When Accelerator got stabbed, he naturally recorded the vector of Aiwass's attack, just he couldn't understand it. But by combining the knowledge from the goat skin, the song from Index's Spell Intercept, and then Aiwass's vector, he dump them all together and begin calculating through the accelerator, he was be able to derive the proper song to purge Aiwass's influence from Last Order.

And as promised, Some of the bit between Shiage and Mugino. Extract from Vol22 Ch9 pt3 (ie the whole of part 3 is not just about Shiage and Mugino - plus I skipped some of the bit where it's just Mugino trying to kill Shiage as well) :

Hamazura can’t comprehend what is happening in front of him.

He didn’t even pull the trigger. And it is impossible for a third party to have attacked Mugino. Nobody else did anything. However, Mugino’s power have just vanished, and like a puppet with its lines cut she fell. There isn’t even time to consider what has just happened.

That’s all he managed to think of.

Then he noticed.

Mugino Shizuri’s body that’s lying in the snow is trembling. On the face with distinctive make-up large amount of sweat that is contrasting with the cold climate of Russia poured out. Her face appeared to have been baked under high temperature. Hamazura recognises this: he saw the same symptoms as her current situation on another girl just before.

‘Crystallized Esper Essence’.

That was a drug originally made to purposely make a esper lose control of his or her ability. due to the very few espers that can use great power when they lose control this was given to espers like Takitsubou Rikou. But to those espers that can’t adapt to this this is by no means a good thing to have.

And as for Mugino Shizuri, she doesn’t possess those ‘traits’.

These ‘crystallized esper essence’ have even eroded the body of Takitsubou Rikou, who had more affinity. If someone that doesn’t have affinity like Mugino forcibly consumes this then undoubtedly she will be harmed greatly.

This is the end for Mugino Shizuri.

She no longer has the power of a 4th Level 5. Mugino has used this essence with the mind that if she can completely eradicate Hamazura Shiage who has defeated her twice then it does not matter what happens to her body afterwards.

(… For Mugino, to have come this far probably took everything she had.)

For a Level 0 like Hamazura something like this is probably incomprehensible.

If there was really something that could raise your ability without having to pay the price, then nobody would have to work so hard.

“W-wh…Why…?”

This is the ending of the queen that once led the group ITEM.

As he realised the current situation Hamazura’s hands started to shake. The rifle he held started to waver. He can feel that now Mugino who is struggling in the snow is nothing more than a living target.

Just kill her, then he and Takitsubou will never be attacked again.

His index finger on the trigger is trembling.

But.

Is killing her really alright?

Before coming to Russia, who was the one that regretted fighting with Mugino once again?

Hamazura looked once more at the fallen Mugino.

Originally in the girls’ only team ‘ITEM’ she was the most attractive. She had style, as shown by the clothing she picked out. And every move she made with her limbs demonstrated beautiful grace. Even though as a grunt he haven’t heard about Mugino’s background, but he can imagine she was some sort of ‘Ojou-sama’.

Mugino now is broken to the core. She has lost a arm, one of eyes have gone blind, and there’s a burn mark that covered half her face. And this is only the exterior. Who knows what else has happened to her insides? Is her organs still where they should be? Are all of them still there? Is there anything else transplanted into her? Having suffered that much damage, standing up countless times is already a miracle. It’s mind boggling how much uncanny techniques was used to uphold her actions.

The limit of those techniques, the ‘crystallized esper essence’.

In contrast that has already vanished without a trace. And with it the support that held up Mugino. It’s like just by touching her skin Mugino will sink into the snow like rotten jelly. It would be stranger if she can still stand. The Darkness of Academy City has completely treated her as a tool that can be discarded when it is no longer needed.

Back in the 23rd School District, didn’t Mugino say that?(Flere821 note: see Vol19) After hearing that, Hamazura also thought about the reason. When he was escaping from Academy City, didn’t he also think that these kinds of battles was a mistake?

If he kill her now, wouldn’t that change nothing?

It’s because he was tired of bleeding for the Darkness of Academy City that he came to Russia, wasn’t it?

“Muginoooooo!!”

When he came to, he was already running towards Mugino. His rifle was thrown aside. He won’t need it anymore.

Mugino, who before was a fortress that blocked Hamazura’s way, didn’t launch any attacks towards him. She only trembled from where she’s lying down.

Hamazura leaned down towards Mugino, bent over and with his hands dug her out of the snow.

As he held her up, apart from the unique, soft feel of a girl he can also feel something that’s unnaturally hard.

Though Hamazura thought at first she’s hiding something under her clothes, he soon found that wasn’t the case.

There is something inside Mugino’s body.

Mugino’s face didn’t change one bit. To her it’s probably something she’s already used to, or something that has no importance. Looking at Hamazura’s face, her shivering lips moved slightly, and asked,

“What… are you doing…”

“Enough…”

As if something is being squeezed out, Hamazura spoke what’s on his heart.

“Why do we have to slaughter one another?! In the end the conflict between ITEM and GROUP was something the adults of Academy City has to settle themselves right?! It’s because of their desires that there’s Darkness in the streets of Academy City right?! Why do we have to wipe their asses for them and then end up like this?!”

“…”

“It doesn’t matter if it’s Mugino, Takitsubou, Kinuhata or even Frenda; weren’t you all friends?! Though I don’t know how the four of you got together, but from when I was a grunt for ITEM didn’t you all support each other?! Why? Why did it end up this way?! This isn’t just because you recklessly killed Frenda!! If the upper-levels of Academy City really did have a hand in that battle, then regardless what happens on the battlefield ITEM was destined to lose to SCHOOL to begin with! For us who had nowhere left to run, it’s like we were designed to just kill one another!!”

For the upper-levels of Academy City who have controlled people’s destiny like God, they could probably even have predicted this kind of conversation. Then they will sit in their gray rooms and mock this kind of sad conversation.

“I say… if you really wanted to see me suffer I’ll let you see it no matter how many times! Whether it be making me prostrate myself, lick your boots or even burning me to dust with a lighter, I don’t care. If that can make this war end I’ll do anything!!”

As he released what’s from the bottom of his heart Hamazura finally saw the image of their ‘true enemy’. It’s not monsters like Mugino. It’s people that can turn a normal girl into such a monster. He doesn’t want to spout lines like it’s due to the failure of society or circumstances. Just like Mugino’s disaster is something that can never exist in nature, she was that kind of nightmarish existence.

It’s just that,

If for example there are the kind of people that could turn everything surrounding a delinquent or esper into a tragedy and use that to their own benefit,

That kind of people is probably more frightening than a monster.

“So, let’s stop.”

There is no longer any need to fight.

As we fight with our lives on the line, and the only ones that benefit from this are those who sharpen their teeth and wait for the conclusion at a place we can never reach. Why is it that we’re fighting bloodied battles only to have their gems and paintings increase? For what reason does a little has to be made into a weapon, being labelled as a monster and having guns pointed at her?

“So,” Hamazura said,

As someone that has finally escaped from the gigantic Darkness and have cut the psychological chains, he said something that’s perfectly reasonable.

“Let us stop trying to kill one another.”

Mugino Shizuri went into a temporary silence.

She is being held by someone who is her arch-enemy, at a distance which normally she could kill her opponent instantly. But this monster-like esper merely leaned onto the Level 0 boy.

After a while, she opened her mouth while shaking her head,

“… what are you talking about, Hamazura…”

It’s like she’s speaking with the last of her breath.

It’s as if her heart has already shattered and this voice is coming from whatever has taken over that void.

“Didn’t you already choose Takitsubou? To save her, didn’t you already defeat me twice? That kind of Hamazura, saying something like saving me now…”

“Yeah…”

Hamazura nodded, and spoke as if moaning.

“Yeah! I chose Takitsubou! I swore to protect her even if it costs me my life! And that hasn’t changed, even now!! So, I won’t just turn around and choose you! Nothing has changed. For the sake of protecting Takitsubou I abandoned you!

We have to accept reality, no matter how harsh it is.” Hamazura said. “If we can stop the conflicts this way.” He has already realised the severity of using violence as the answer. Mugino, who noticed that, shows a slight bit of easing around her lips that if someone does not carefully observe it’ll be easily missed.

Then again, her body is on the brink of collapse.

This isn’t just due to missing a arm and a eye. Those can’t even count as a problem, the true reason being Mugino’s insides are messed up due to Academy City’s unknown medicine techniques, and the effect of the ‘essence’ sweeping throughout her. Thinking about her current situation, Mugino mumbled:

“… What an impulsive fool.”

“I know. I’m probably the worst guy in Academy City.”

“I killed Frenda. And made ITEM into a mess. Plus, more than once, I tried to take Takitsubou’s life. For someone like that, how do you plan to save me...”

“Things aren’t that simple. For me, or for you.”

“…?”

“So, you have to have the resolve to apologise to Kinuhata, even if it might means putting your life on the line. And say sorry to Takitsubou, and cry for forgiveness in front of Frenda’s grave. Then…”
