Well, you need to stick with your assumptions.
Usually if you want to divide by x, you need to write 'for all x!=0'. Here you do the exact opposite, which is grossly negligent. Don't you know that singularities endanger the existance of the universe?

You could just start at A+B=B. In which case A=0 is not nuts.
Actually it's the opposite of the Zen. A can not exist.

In High School we were on a trip and got a paper for use to be on time to events. However it was put it us in this fashion:

If you are Early, you are On Time. If you are On Time, you are Late.

The freshmen of course went off on it as:

A = Early
B = On Time
C = Late

If A = B and B = C, therfore A = C.

So if you are Early you are Late.

Mathematically speaking, you are right - I can't argue with logic. What I did was the way how US Congress politicians do math; looks right, sounds right, but fundamentally wrong.
