Ah, the epilogue – such a sad, sweet ending for a darling manga
I think that this is a good ending for the story, as it closes a lot of Rosario+Vampire holes, but it still leaves a lot to be imagined upon (or, perhaps, drawn, if Ikeda decides to do another series – I still have hope!). …And, a truly open ending, where even a true harem ending can be inferred (complete w/ a BL member, which had only been joked about before, and I think is being joked about again – I mean, come on, has there ever been a harem manga with both sexes actually represented as a real possibility? He’s not even in at the scene at the end, anyway, so…). All that’s left for Rosario+Vampire are the volume omakes… if there are any… Maybe I’ll get my Halloween story yet?
Any way, page one, the Jump Square cover: proud and beautiful, Inner Moka rules in a bridal gown, with tiara (in red decorated glass) and veil. So pretty. So already seen. NEXT!
Hmmm, a two page color spread of the main girls of Rosario+Vampire – hey, I thought their uniforms were slightly more on the green side (not much, admittedly, but slightly). …And, Why is Ruby in a STUDENTS UNIFORM? Is she trying for academic credentials, or something? …and did anybody else notice the ties? Moka is wearing hers boy style – and indicator of Alpha Dominance, perhaps? Naw, it’s just a holdover from her Rosario-less new look, dang-it-all (personal question – Why is Moka still wearing the collar?)… Ooo, lookie, lookie, in the bottom right corner, the cover for Volume 14 – Outer Moka rules in the same gown and pose as the Jump cover, although her crown is green, to match her eyes
Makes the lace of the veil easier to see over her pink hair (as opposed to silver)
Page 3 is a full color ad for some special event(s) going on with Rosario, at least one looks like it may be the volume 14 release date – does anybody know what all this is about? Maybe special sales for the volumes… maybe something else – those bottom 4 panels intrigue me – they look like they introduce us to the original stars of our little show, as it gives us chapter and volume numbers (I think that’s what they are). Gotta look when I have time…
And, finally, we get to our story – It’s an assassination attempt! And the long missing Shuzen Issa is involved! …and is told “How you approach this one is up to you.” -Did you catch the cigar? …only two people in the series habitually smoke – and one is now DEAD! What does that man think he’s doing?
-Could it be something like what the headmaster did with the centipede monster, oh so long ago?- We shall see…
“I’ll take care of Aono Tsukune.” Combined with the quote from above, it’s snort worthy… especially with the “rotten line of work” comment… now, just what has he heard bout our main protagonist, eh?
Ah, so were 10 months later? I would put it right after summer break, then… Tsukune is sure looking good, there… quite the change from the young boy at the beginning of season 1, volume 1.
Num. …and the fall-out still continues from the Alucard incident… looking at those headlines, some of the human populations simply aren’t thinking – where are you going to deport them TO, eh? They, and their families, have been in some areas for generations – possibly even longer than the human populations… and there is no “creature” country to send them to. Are you going to make one, like they did for the displaced Jews of Europe, during World War II? Where would a creature version of Israel end up being? Given the highly differing nature of all the creatures we have seen, a place as varied as would be needed would have to be… large. Anywho…
Ack – Moka seems awfully… cheerful. Still strong, though… and her fan club still lives…
“the previously ice-cold ‘inner’ Moka-san turned friendly and gentle” – there were clues that this could be the case, when we saw Moka’s memories, also when the Rosario stopped working.
CAPU-CHU! –You know, I think he thought he was going to get kissed there, just for a second…
(sigh)
- I see you, Yukari, you and those little “bunny-ears” hmph, Tsukune looks a little surprised at where he wound up …just how often has she been feeding on Tsukune, to get them that upset with her? It’s got to be even more often than when Tsukune was human, or else the response has grown with Moka’s available power… (could be either). Once a month is just too much for her to resist, Kurumu – if you don’t remember, she was having problems after a month in the centipede incident…
??? What are you doing, Yukari? You look far too happy to be in that pose trying to “protect” Tsukune …have you even hit puberty yet? Should be close, if I remember right …somebody thump the little hentai (lovers negotiating?) – Alter has been taking lessons from her… gods, Yukari looks so happy at the prospect of a fight…
…and there’s Moka’s typical discard pile, with her dragging off the only thing worth keeping.
There’s my little Alpha Female! …alter… Oh, Daddy’s coming. Now. Come meet him? (Considering how much trouble he has gotten into meeting Moka’s family during the last couple of years, this is ominous. Du-du-duuuuum )
Yup, there he is, Moka’s (and Kokoa’s) father…
Tsukune is mentally panicking (heheheh) wait, did he just call Issa hot? …and everyone’s favorite quote of the chapter, “Who are you calling ‘Father’?” Did Moka set you up for that one, huh? Feels like it…
…oops, the Harem has been officially notified… Hmmm, “Issa was imprisoned during Gyokuro’s coup d’état”? Answers that little question of mine, anyway. …and Yukari is the one to mention engagement. Does the little genius not have enough to do in her senior year that she has to go making trouble? (…and the Newspaper club must have had ANOTHER rotten recruitment drive this year, as there are no new people there. It’s going to be a little quiet next year, with just Kokoa and Fueng-Fueng there…)
Kokoa’s the voice of reason? I don’t believe it… and neither do they, as they completely ignore her, and go the to genius witch known for causing trouble… Are you really on Moka’s side? Last I knew, you still wanted a threesome (and she didn’t)…
…poor Tsukune… the guy is giving you the silent treatment…
Oh, gods, I can’t resist – “So you’re saying our vampire blood is hard to swallow…?” No, sir, Moka seems to have no problems with it whatsoever… Ok, now that that is out of my system… it’s not vampires that have problems getting along with humans (they prey on humans, at least historically – they better not have problems
); it’s humans that generally have problems with anything new (and creatures definitely qualify as new).
…um, just how much have you had to drink, Moka? …and what is it you are drinking, and how does it affect your metabolism? You act, well, drunk. And, I think the innuendo there is that you like Tsukune…
Ouch! Shot to the heart! Papa has heard about the Harem! He wants to know where Moka falls in his heart! (memories of Outer call to Tsukune…) …and in comes Kurumu…
…wearing a little
nothing something guaranteed to cause fits. It does. In Issa. While Moka facepalms.
Issa broke his drinking glass… Oops? And MIZORE gets the nosebleed award of the chapter! I guess Kurumu has been a little too generous with her -generous- assets; either that, or Tsukune touched something very nosebleed-worthy
…and “school-wide famous ‘Tsukune Harem’” is a little awkward sounding… but I can’t think up anything better off the top of my head… and I would use the word “infamous” given how much trouble the “Harem” has caused, ever since it was brought up.
…OK, I know why Yukari is there (little hentai), but what is Fueng-Fueng doing? He’s having too much fun posing! What did they offer to pay you (or what do they have on you as blackmail material)? Issa is, of course, not happy
R-U-B-Y!!! If there is anyone that can top the little genius of hentai, trust that it will be you! (You got the meeting room bugged, or something? You weren’t there…)
-the students in the background seem to appreciate the efforts the Harem went to; somebody take photographic evidence, PLEASE- Oh, yes, The Assassins are coming! The Assassins are coming!
…and one’s already here (maniacal laughter ensues)
Oooh, bad stuff about to happen!!! (please take note that Issa’s vampire senses seem to be engaging…)
…wait, he wants Tsukune to move?
Issa just speared a nasty (where’s my monster encyclopedia box?), and says the assassins must have sent it. He’s not after Tsukune?
MR. BUSDRIVER? YOU hired Issa? As an anti-assassin? Although, I do admit Nurari (as he is called by Issa) should have qualified for a Monster Encyclopedia box, but didn’t get one (probably because Japanese audiences would get the reference to “nurarihyon – supreme commander of all monsters”; and no, I am not at all surprised at this revelation – see my summary for Ch66.6) -there are also references to raising, hazing, and not being too overprotective in the conversation between the two adults-
My suggestion, Tsukune, although it may be too late to do so, is RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
I was right… trainer. Poor kid. Your potential father-in-law as up-close-and-personal tutor for however long it takes to make you fit to be the next headmaster. Well, he will certainly get to know weather you are worthy of his daughter or not…
Oof, looks like being a baby Shinso isn’t even going to be able to help you a whole lot, here… thirty seconds is a lot? Guy’s strong…
Heh, Issa talks about polygamy to Tsukune – guess he doesn’t think Tsukune has done a whole lot of thinking about the situation he is right in the middle of! -still no mention of Fueng-Fueng, though, so I still believe he was joking or bribed or blackmailed during the “meet the harem” scene- I like how Issa put the Outer/Akasha bit, made Tsukune think (and us as well).
I think… Moka’s true personality is re-emerging, after being forcibly altered by the seal… and to all of you commenting on her “Bring it on!” statement – yes, that is not the typical response to being hit on, but Moka is not your typical girl. Get over it! She is probably just reacting to the “hit” in “hit on”…
…and here come the rest of Tsukune’s girls to cheer him up! Eh, Moka is showing a bit of pink in her hair? Good
She needs a little more dere to go with the tsun…
…guess she is starting to bridge both personalities… just a bit
…and, at the crossroads between the Human World and Yokai Academy, we get a sweet group moment, ending with Moka’s capu-chu (Wait a minute – was that TWICE in one day? Even I say that is a little much!)
-Where’s Fueng-Fueng? If he wants to be a part of the Harem, he needs to get his act together, and stop missing moments like this!-
Sweet ending – can’t wait to see what Ikeda cooks up next! I hope it is as nummy as Rosario has been over the years!
-no more Rosario, unless his next series ties in. I hope it ties in…- There, there, Alter, we can go on a binge next week after you get done with all your work
-I don’t have to work, idiot - Whatever…
