Normally I would just assume its censorship but judging how Lawrence doesn't seem taken back at all during those scenes, it has me puzzled.

It's censorship, but Lawrence doesn't react much (reacts even less in the novels from what I hear) because he's kind of a jaded merchant type and very analytical for the most part. Plus he realizes that it's not a girl naked in front of him, but a several hundred year old wolf god, which would probably do wonders for forcing you to kept a handle on your libido in front of her.

The whole art style is a bit abstract ... mundane details are left to the imagination.
(and it keeps those wacky censors calm - which strikes me as extra odd.

Not everyone goes freaking nuts with an undressed girl in front of them - if anything their first thought is "lets find you a cloak". Her underlying alien-ness just makes it even more likely he's going to keep his wits about him.

OTOH... he clearly finds her interesting (see all his glancing in ep 2).

Certainly makes some sense after episode two why he wasn't reacting as much as one would expect. Hadn't exactly had the greatest encounters with wolves in the past which would probably leave you on guard.

Also with questioning her about being a demon or a possessing spirit he probably didn't consider her as a naked girl. Now later one when he's more comfortable you can get some reactions.

Aye, and like Vexx said, not every guy reacts like a 15 year old anime character and gets nose-bleeds or goes gaga over a naked body in front of them. Lawrence is 25 years old, and has probably seen his share of naked bodies. While he's obviously not apathetic to it, it's not such a big deal anymore once you get older (also depends on the culture you're brought up in).

It actually sort of matches the mildly abstract drawing style of the manga as well.

Considering hero, heroine + 4 other CV's, this anime with its limited voice cast is much more interesting than a lot of stuff out there. Add to that, Ami Koshimizu performs the Oiran dialect very amazingly (is that even a word?)...can't think of a better CV for Horo than her tbh :P

Well.... I suppose I'll have to pull the card that Lawrence is complicated too... we don't know that he acts timid around "women" ... we only know that in the case of Chloe, he doesn't want to entertain the idea of 'settling down' even though she presents an array of practical and erotic reasons he might want to in her proposal
I understand and applaud the complexity being displayed in this story -- I hope they can maintain the power levels

The woman was trying to charm him into taking up a partnership with her. He had to keep his business mask on, and understand that there is no free lunch here. Making money sometimes means controlling one's urges.

Here's an example of Horo in the manga for a comparison of the art style in the animation versus the manga

As you can see, the art style of the anime is simply matching the manga's style .... some of the drawing style of S&W reminds me of stained-glass work. So I'm going to guess they're going for a feudal art style rather than photo-realistic accuracy Not saying there isn't "censorship" but its more of a gauzy art style than those damned stupid police banners and still frames that plague so many series. I wouldn't expect the style to be any different in the DVD releases.

Lawrence, figuring out trick to the end of the silver coin story Zeren brought up, brings the information to Milone Company.
The result of the investigation has Milone Company finding out about that despite depending on enormous interest, backroom deals existed.
The branch manager, Malhait, talks to Lawrence about the negotiations before they share information.
Lawrence was happy that his dream of being able to take of his own store was becoming closer to coming true, but on the contrast, Horo's was depressed for some reason...

I don't get this. First the title change, and this odd preview.
I assume that all of this means:

Lawrence gives information to company, who pays him a lot for it. Then he gets happy because of his profit, but Horo is sad.

Remember that the society was different back then. IMO, People were more open because they were more religious. Their thinking was that God had intended for Adam and Eve to be naked, so there's nothing wrong with nudity in the first place.
