Darn. If it weren't for that love bit, I'd totally say early Bleach is a good example.

Those are for the magical girl warrior subsets. Let's not forget that the magical girl warrior is the youngest sub-section of the genre. There is also the cute witch and the magical idol subsets that you are completely leaving out.

guys, guys! have you heard of this year's latest Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Wizard? which is considered the first magical themed Kamen Rider series? i still don't know what the 4uck Kamen Rider Kuuga's themes is supposed to be, btw being Haruto is suffering cuz life is SHOW TIME...... *goes off to Dunkin' Donuts to relieve stress*

I always thought Kamen Rider as boys equivalent of Magical Girls( normal MG, so not Madoka, Nanoha etc) since they both have transforming scenes, Monster of the Week, rivals, weekly aesops and so on.

"Love" is probably too girly for most boys so Kamen Rider usually has "Justice" theme instead.

The MagiRangers came before Kamen Rider Wizard as magical toukusatsu, eventhough i didn't like the story in MagiRangers.
