It is hard to decide who wins. The North is rather mountainous so both sides will be engaging in en-masse mountain warfare. To top it off, there are forests on the mountains, so SK have to relinquish its promise on not to use heavy flame weapons (like napalm) in its fight.

The ROK troops are pretty well-trained but are outnumbered 10:1. It will be like Vietnam all over again.

Mostly I think it'll be like Iraq, a core group of very loyal and well trained soldiers and the rest very willing to surrender at the drop of a hat when things go awry.

Then again, it's all about posture, SK's armed forces are mostly young conscripts and how they perform is usually anyone's guess.

Well it is not the conscripts, but the reservists who have something to fight for. They don't fight for their country, they fight for their families.

I seriously doubt North Korea has the ability to defeat the South, but they can hold their own until China comes into play.
