Merry Christmas everyone, though its a bit late. I've been really preoccupied with my own life lately, what with looking for a job and all. I'll probably be active again next week, and I'm sure most of the others will too once the Christmas spirit slowly die down.

Anyway Happy birthday to Lowe, or belated if its already past midnight over in the Philippines.

I've found a job and will be starting tomorrow, but ironic though it may be I think I may actually have more time for OC related stuff. At least I'll have more time to think of it when there isn't much to do at work, since I don't have the PS2 and my PC to distract me.

They're experts on one type of magic, and then adepts on the other. So...

Well, as a christmas gift to the OC thread, here's Part 1 of Joint Training, the OFM's visit to RF6. This takes place before PT is lotsa fun. At first, I thought they'd just drive up to the door like normal people... then I remembered who's leading the OFM...

Riot Force 6, Crangan City, Mid-Childa

It was a nice sunny day at Riot Force 6. Hayate and Rein were doing paperwork, as was Griffith; Shamal and her staff were tidying up the infirmary, and Stars and Lighting were out training. A nice, normal day.

Which was of course when their airspace was breached, alarms ringing and bridge bunnies rushing to the command center.

"Report!" snapped Hayate, as she took her seat. "Talk to me, Griffith!"

"Two unidentified aircraft entered our airspace 3 minutes ago, Ma'am," replied her XO. "They're on an intercept course to HQ, at an altitude of thirty thousand feet. Our preliminary scans indicate that they appear to be medium-sized aircraft, larger than our heli. They appeared out of nowhere: ground scans didn't pick them up; and they came over water."

"Long Arch 1, Stars 1 here," said Nanoha, her face appearing on-screen. "I'm heading to the scene right now with both teams-"

"Aircraft speed increasing! They're on a direct course for HQ!"

"Unknown aircraft, you are entering restricted airspace! Reduce speed and turn around!"

"They're ignoring us, aircraft are overshooting - wait. What the? Ma'am, we're picking up 21 magical signatures deploying from the aircraft! Power levels... weakest signature is estimated B-rank, most of the signatures are A and AA... ma'am, we have a AAA and an S-rank among them!"

"This isn't good at all," said Hayate softly. The attack - and it was obvious it was an attack, it was a HALO combat drop - had enough mages in quantity and quality to overwhelm Riot Force 6, since it was now obvious they would arrive before Stars and Lightning would be able to intercept. "Begin evacuating the backyard staff and get our security people ready to repel the attackers."

"Final check! Squads, sound off!"

"Alpha Squad, all present and accounted for, Sir!"

"Bravo Squad, all present and accounted for, Sir!"

"Good," nodded 2nd Lieutenant Franz Jaeger, standing by the hatch controls for Echo 419. Like all members of the Assault Platoon, he was wearing gold-tinted shooting glasses; these glasses projected a rudimentry HUD that would aid each man in orienting himself once he was outside the Pelican and in freefall. "Foehammer, Alpha 10. We're ready to go. How do you read me? Over."

"Alpha 10, Foehammer. I read you five by five. Drop point in ninety seconds. Saddle up and kick ass!"

"Copy, Foehammer. Alright, Assault Platoon! Drop in 80 seconds! Squad Leaders, get your people into position, and prepare to drop."

The Alpha Squad "leader" stands up and waves his team forward; the Pelican's troop bay has 12 seats, six a side facing each other. Alpha Squad stands up and moves to the hatch, and Franz nods to 419's crew chief, who's acting as the jumpmaster: the other man hits the hatch control and the noise of the Pelican's engines is drowned out by the howl of the wind.

"Sixty seconds!" barks the crew chief, and it's Bravo's turn to stand up and enter position. Alpha, will drop first, then Bravo, with Ivanovich taking point; Franz will be the final Alpha Squad member out the door. For this mission, neither Franz nor Ivanovich will be leading their squads; instead, the squad leaders and their assistants are "dead", playing the part of new Order recruits; the middle third-in-line men of each squad will be taking command, an excercise designed refresh them in controlling their squads. The OFM may be playing agressors for the next week or so, and they haven't started yet, but there's no reason why you can't squeeze in more training whenever you can.

Bravo, thinks Franz, is actually better off in this regard: all of them are solid and dependable. Alpha... there's a reason Sergeant Aleksndr Nagant is called Psycho, and why despite his experience he's still just a mere Sergeant and the least in order of command in case anything happens to Franz.

"Thirty seconds!" shouts the jumpmaster, and Ivanovich grins behind his glasses, and suddenly in each man's ears are the strains of "Ghost Love Score", one of Ivanovich's more eclectic choices; it's a lot different from his usual metal, but the Sergeant Major is in a mood for suitably epic music. Franz smiles: Ghost Love Score isn't half bad, and he chuckles to himself as he imagines the chaos in Riot Force 6: by now, their comms will have been hacked, and they won't be able to communicate with each other as Ivanovich continues spamming his music at them.

"Ten seconds! Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. GO!"

And it's time to drop.

"We're going in deep and hard!" yells Alpha Squad's LMG gunner, and as they jump out and freefall, Alpha Squad's five voices are raised in a defiant roar: "WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!"

Bravo Squad mentally facepalm, and jump out with less ridiculous, though no less manly, roars.

Well, Ivanovich's magical affinity is for Real Man Badass, not Hot Blood. It's only natural for him and Franz to have rubbed off on their Squads.

Although it was Erick who had the idea of doing a HALO drop onto Riot Force 6, instead of just driving up to the front door like normal people...

Then again, none of the Order's members have ever been "normal people."

Above Riot Force 6, 21 figures enter freefall, falling from the sky at terminal velocity. They split into two groups, angling towards different vectors. Ten of the figures angled directly for Riot Force 6, aiming to land on the roof; the others took a different vector, heading for the front doors. The rooftop ten fall like rocks, clad in black-and gray camoflage fatigues and black body armor, wearing gold-tinted shooting glasses, focused looks and fierce grins on their faces as they angle in to their landing zone.

Without waiting for instructions, the ten-man team splits into two five-man squads, as they freefall to their target zone. The lead jumper checks his wrist-mounted altimeter and then turns back to face his fellows, making a signal. He receives the acknowledgement signal and angles back in, counting down...

As one, glowing wings emerge from the backs, ankles and wrists of each man, as each activates Glider Fin or Flier Fin, turning a freefall into a controlled descent, knifing through the air and adjusting his vector. By this time security personnel are reaching the rooftop, raising their Staff Devices and preparing to fire... as a barrage of beamfire converges on them, magic damage knocking them out in one strike. The ten men land hard and fast, with no wasted movements; they may not all be capable of flight, but falling with style is just as good, and Glider Fin is as useful as a parachute, without the hassle of packing. But mostly it's for the style. Who do you think they are? They're the Assault Platoon of the Order of Freelance Mages. God help them if they screw up something as simple as landing on a roof the size of a postage stamp, because Sergeant Major Ivanovich will have their asses for breakfast. God owns their souls, but their asses and everything else belong to Ivanovich, Lieutenant Jaeger notwithstanding. (Ivanovich owns HIS soul.)

Franz is pleased as each of his men lands on the roof and quickly attaches his rapelling line into the concrete guardwall of the roof. The acting squad leaders do quick headcounts, confirm everyone has landed, and on cue, the Assault Platoon rapells down. Most of them do it like Bravo Squad: ass towards ground, standard way of doing things, basically controlled falls.

Franz nods to Psycho, links the rapelling line to his harness, and steps off in what on Earth is called the Australian Rapell. Unlike standard rapelling, this is essentially running down the side of a building, facing the ground. It's crazier... and subjectively, more fun.

Franz smirks, and waves widely at the approaching Aces, cheekily calling out, "Sup, Beamspam-chan!", enjoying the adrenalin rush.

And then the line comes loose.

The piton he hammered into the rooftop gives way, and he's falling through the air. Franz blinks and releases his harness, tumbling in midair.

[Glider Fin.]

His descent is now controllable, and Franz takes a moment to look to check his surroundins, look up at the rapelling line, and come to a split-second decision. He freefalls, hitting the brakes at the last moment, landing in a crouch, sidestepping the rapelling line and snatching it out of mid-air, using gravity and inertia and arm movements to coil it around his arm. He removes the black line and turns to see Subaru and Teana, Mach Caliber and Cross Mirage drawn, and sweatdrops at Subaru's words: "Awesome."

Teana sighs, but maintains her bead on him. He makes a mental note to get someone to tell her that two gun mojo only works when a Real Man Badass is doing it, not a fifteen-year-old girl.

The Assault Platoon, meanwhile, has fanned out in a defensive perimiter, Devices up and ready, looking for all the world like they can take on the Aces and Forwards by themselves, no sweat. There's great potential for things to get ugly, real fast.

"Good afternoon," drawls an Erusian-accented voice, and Franz's salvation has arrived. Unlike the Assault Platoon, who were pretty much assaulting Riot Force 6's HQ, Erick and the Air Forces flights made their landing off to the side, on the grassy field, looking calm and relaxed as Hayate storms across the grass towards him, heedless of how badly she's outgunned. "Colonel von Long," she says coldly. "You have some cheek, coming in like that, and having your Assault Platoon assault my command."

"Well, they's th' Assault Platoon," says Erick simply, as if that's a sufficient answer; beside him, Glen adds, "Only the Assault Platoon would do that." Behind both men, the girls of the Air Forces nod sagely, well-aquainted with the foibles of the groundpounders. Unlike the rivalry and dislike between the TSAB Army and Air Force, the OFM's two branches get along well with each other: the Assault Platoon men and boys love and worship the Air Forces girls for being always on-station with air support and their can do attitude (as well as brief flashes of underwear, if they're really lucky); the Air girls adore the ground boys for having the guts to be in the thick of fighting - and in the case
of one girl, it's a lot stronger than adoration...

That doesn't mean that the Air girls don't think they're smarter than the ground boys and view them with sympathetic fondness - though in fairness, they ARE being led by the careful and logical Glen and the decisive and tsuntsun Emili, not the hotblooded Franz. Even Ivanovich has hot blood in his veins... though it's usually expressed in blowing things up, not mad yelling like Franz.

Hayate's lips twitch, and then she smiles, and shakes her head. "I guess the Assault Platoon will be the Assault Platoon," she says, and Alpha Squad grins.

"Hell yeah! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!" they thunder, eliciting a facepalm from Glen and winces and pained smiles from the girls of Sword and Lance flights. Erick chuckles, catches Ivanovich's eye, and calls out, "Sergeant Major, if you will."

"Sir, yes Sir!" barks the Sergeant Major, his voice like the Thunder of God. "Order! Fall in!"

Deactivating their Barrier Jackets, revealing the TSAB Blues they wear, the 19 mages fall into four ranks; Franz and Glen step away from their units and face them, as their squad leaders report: "Alpha Squad, present and accounted for!" "Bravo Squad, all present and accounted for!" "Sword Flight, all present and accounted for!" "Lance Flight all present and ready to kick ass!"

"Sir! Assault Platoon is all present and ready to break the heavens, SIR!"

"Sir! Air Forces are all present and accounted for, SIR!" I swear, one of these days, I will drive that hot blood out of him... thinks Glen.

Ivanovich turns to Erick, ramrod straight: "Sir, the Order is assembled."

"Thank you, Sergeant Major," replies Erick gravely, and he turns to Hayate. "Lieutenant Colonel, th' Order is presen' and assembled, an' is now ready ta begin join' trainin' excercises with your command." Relaxing from military formality, he smiles, and says, "We're looking forward ta a fun time with your teams. Ain't that righ', Order?"

"SIR YES SIR! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!"

It was quite obvious that Glen and the Air Forces were torn between wanting to kill Franz and Alpha Squad (or at least maim severely) and sinking into the ground; Bravo Squad had deceivingly neutral expressions on their faces. At least they weren't crazy, just... creative in their methods of killing people...

"Well, then," smiles Hayate, "Order of Freelance Mages, welcome to Riot Force 6. We're looking forward to seeing your skills."

Even my custom job, Dragon Master has troubles with her...

Besides, I don't usually put helmets on characters, and if I do, it's those types that fully covers the head.

I'm one tough Soul Chandra... just add me to a party and we'll never die - Healwind and Recovery Circle + 0 sec cooldown/casting heal rox...

but i envy summoners, engineers and launchers... with thier crit attack summons, stun grenades and high DPS attacks that can kill anyone (in PK) within 1-7 shots... i often get pwned in about 4 shots, counting individual rockets- 1 normal attack and one skill

Stupid MAUs, powerful yes, cheap no...

Well I was thinking of adding just a couple of jewels similar to the 'head interface' of Goddess Pilots to the head, some wing armoring, addtional/sleeker armoring in general and the "Option"... about 2 of them, floating.

Erick " questioned, " Such an act would serve not only serve to undermine the value of the exercise for both our particular forces, but also could lead to complacency and a loss of combat readiness in the face of a threat..." He answered. He did not need to say that the OFM would also feel slighted by such measures.; he could tell Hayate already understood that. " And our Intelligence sources are secret and we will not betray that, so their relevance or not is not open to questions..."

" I'm well aware of that... However..." Hayate asked, frowning, " If I were to tell you that your 'assault' happened to coincide with Captain Takamachi's Blaster Training exercises, and that your entire force was in range and line-of-sight of the Captain Throughout the whole drop, what would you say then...?". At that last revelation, several of the more experienced or simply more knowledgeable men of the unit paled.

Erick swallowed. " I'd say we're lucky to be alive, ambulatory and awake ma'am..."

" Quite right. You're lucky Nanoha recognized your aircraft and approach patterns and decided to wait rather than assume you were hostile and attack immediately, otherwise how long do you think your 'exercise' would have lasted...?"

" a length of time measurable only in Fractional millionths of a second, ma'am..." Erick confessed, somewhat embarrassed by this obvious, glaring oversight in the mission planning stage

"Well, we can sweat the small stuff later. Welcome to Riot force six. It's clear we have a lot to learn from each other..." Hayate offered. Erick agreed, and the first thing on his list was a lesson for Intelligence:

Background:
Born on MC 0061, Lian was the youngest of 2 children. Her family were very wealthy, due to her father's business on the fledging shipbuilding
industry occuring on the planet. Born with heterochromatic eyes, she was often ignored by her own family, not being "normal" compared to others. She would always
be stuck on her room, only being taken care of by one of the maids, Maria. Her older brother, Wei, also minded her much more than her own parents, but not as much.
This continured unitl she was 5, when several cloaked figures came into the mansion her family was living in. Quickly and quietly taking out the security guards
around at the time, they then started to massacre the whole family for reasons still unknown today. In a matter of minutes, young Lian was being carried out of the now-burning
mansion by Maria, shot twice in the back already,and Wei into the forest nearby. Unfortunately, it was useless, as the figures started to chase them. Wei tried to
to fight them off, but eventually was killed, stabbed by a crimson sword. Targeting Lian, one of them tried to shoot her as she ran, but Maria got behind and took another shot, killing her
instantly. That final act of self-sacrifice also managed to save Lian, as the figures strangely backed away without ever checking. Still, that took a toll on her, because as soon as she
got out of the forest, she was totally blind, due to psychological trauma.
For two years, she wandered around cities, trying to survive. Strangely enough, she wasn't like any other blind person walking around. Stealing food often, people who chased her didn't even think
she was blind; she ran, jumped, and got away from them as though she was an acrobat, a free-runner of sorts. Some even said that they saw a dark red triangle under her feet. One day, though, she had stolen a bunch of fruits, but was seen doing it. Going into a spaceport, she
had though that she managed to escape until she bumped into a person: transport captain Roget Shan. It turned out that the people chasing her had taken a different path in order to try and ambush her. Shan did
something that not a whole lot of people could expect: he paid for everything that Lian had stolen and took her in. Looking at her the first time, he wondered how could a seemingly blind girl move like a normal person.
Everything he tried to figure it out, though, was in vain, as Lian seemed to not show anything on how she was able to do so. Taking care of her, Shan soon found out that Lian was also technologically adept at making
and repairing things, good enough that she was one of the best mechanics on the ship, trumping several others.
She stayed on the ship until one day, when the ship was tasked with delivering several people, supplies and one thing put in a small black box of sorts to Mid-Childa. Before leaving, though, a group of rogue mages wanting the cargo and taking
the ship itselfmanaged to get inside, posing as passengers. Luckily, Thunder Squad was there, disguised as normal passengers, hearing that the group was ready to act. En route, the rogue mages struck, with two groups, one moving to the bridge, the other one for the
cargo hold. At the time, Lian was isnide the cargo hold, checking on how everything was held in place when she heard some people go inside. The next thing she knew, she was tied up while the group was messing with the cargo. She tried to get up, but someone kicked
her over, pointing a gun, ready to shoot. The last thing she could consciously remember was the sound of a gun ready to fire before what seemed to be the sound of a fight dissipated. Someone then asked her if she was okay, untying the ropes. It wasn't the fact that
someone was saving her; it was the fact that the voice sounded like her brother from two years ago during the massacre. Strangely, the cold, dark blackness started to fade away, and finally, she could see clearly. A hand touched her, and she could se who it was. It was
a different person who also had heterochromatic eyes, smiling at her. Pilling her up from the ground, he introduced himself: Arvis Forsynth. Indroductions were short, though, since the ship started leaning from side to side. Moving towards the bridge, lockdown was initiated,
but fortunately, Lian was there. With her help, Arvis was able to get there, where he met both Nobuyuki and Anne...right in the middle of a standoff. The rogues took the bridge, and took everyone inside there hostage. Lian had to stay back; she couldn't do
anything, it seemed. Two other rogues hiding nearby came out and used what appeared to be flashbangs on them. Off-guard, Arvis, nobuyuki, Anne, and Lian got blinded in the blast, ready to be taken down. Two shots were heard, and it felt like an eternity before they could see again.
What they saw was Lian in front of them, her eyes still closed from the blinding flash, holding up two shields of Neo-Belkan origin, blocking off the shots. Surprised, it took the rogues a second to try and think up of something else, enough time for Thunder Squad to react. Soon, the remaining rogues
were captured, and the crew was shown the whole reason they attacked: the black box they were carrying contained a Relic; somehow, the rogue mages got a hold of the information. Annoyed at the turn of events, Roget still took the ship to Mid-Childa and dropped off its cargo...and Lian. Seeing that
a life of working on a ship when she could be doing something else better, he decided to convince her to go with the TSAB. She went into training a short while later. There, she was known to learn quickly, especially towards the technology of Devices, managing to build her own Device. People would
comment that she would make a superb technician if it wasn't for the fact that she could also dodge and fight well. Lian also found out that the reason she could "see" before was her own doing, casting a spell subconsciously.
After graduating, she served for a short time in the 2nd Surface Unit. While there, she searched and found the unit that saved her life and the ship she was on so long ago: the 216th Special Combat Group. Immediately, she tried to transfer there, but actually failed the first time, due to the fact that mages
have to be both beyond Private First Class and have to be at least above A-, two things which she didn't have. She worked on those things very hard for about 4 years, hoping to get there. On January 26, MC 0075, Lian Wu Zhao was finally accpeted into the 216th, placed under Thunder Squad.


Personality:
Lian is usually quiet most of the time, but can talk to a few people, mainly Arvis and Armay, incessantly. She also likes to ask questions before everyone has to leave for a mission, wondering what could happen. For all of that, though, she's very social when she's working on something technological, particularly on
either her own Device, or small things that take up her time. She's one that likes to go through things always to the plan, and can't deal with changes as quickly as others. Rarely does she ever get mad at someone; it's usually something that won't work or seems too puzzling that ticks her off very much. The same also goes if she's
pretty depressed: it's usually something, not someone. She's level-headed in combat, considering what things should and shouldn't be done.

Armament:
Armed Device-Azura
Lian's custom-built Device from training, it looks like two chakrams made out of scrap found in a junk yard, its only form. Despite its crude look, though, her Device has a few special things. Besides being used as a throwing and close combat weapon, Lian has used it in unorthodox ways, such as binding it to extend her melee attack range, lay traps,
etc. It also has small razor-sharp blade slivers that Lian uses in one of her spells to cover a wide area, located under hidden panels that open up instantly when she casts it. It is able to load normal-sized cartridges, but can only load 4 total (2 on each), due to space restrictions. The AI on it is child-like, and doesn't address Lian, or anyone for that matter
, with honorifics.

Fighting Style:
She fights with an acrobatic flair of sorts, using the environment in order to do flips, jumps, and things of the sort. Alone, she likes to set traps up with her own Device, leading enemies into it or lead them into choke points to ambush them. With the others, she tends to stay back and support them, especially in hard-to-see areas, where she takes point, due to her
ability to see better than others in that situation. Not a big fan of cartridges, she sparingly uses them, and the fact that she doesn't need that much cartridges for spells anyway is a bonus. She favors evasion over shields and barriers, and as a result, has to rely on others, mostly Arvis, for defense most of the time.

Barrier Jacket:
Her Barrier Jacket consists of a bandana wrapped around her head, with goggles up on her forehead, used in dusty or windy places. She wears a gray long-sleeved shirt, covered over it by a ballistic vest that doesn't restrict her movement that much, gray-black combat pants and boots, and black fingerless gloves.
Spells:
-Other:
Second Sight: One of Lian's specialties, this spell lets her see things from far away, even if her eyes are physically unable to see, something that helped her through her orphan days. Through some unknown reason, she developed this spell subconsciously, probably a survival mechanism. It might be a form of remote viewing, but that's to speculate.

-Movement:
Sonic Move: Allows the user to temporarily move faster than normal.

-Attack:
Flammerad (Flame Wheel): Lian covers Azura in flames, then spins around the place. The range can be extended when binded onto.

Bombletstoß (Bomblet Burst): Small shards come out of Azura, Exploding once the target or targets are in range. A wide area attack, Lian can also use this in a trap. Uses 1 cartridge.

Splitter Blades: Lian throws Azura at high speed and guides their paths, so that they can cut through enemies multiple times.

Flammegranate (Flame Grenade): Lian covers Azura in flames, and throws them to a target. On impact, the target is engulfed in flames. Also used for traps.

Spinnerrolle (Spinner Roll): Lian rolls Azura either on the wall or on the ground. The blades then pick up speed and cut through whatever that they touch.

Aufflackernstoß (Flare Burst): Fire surrounds Lian in a dome, then she releases it in a flash. Anyone close enough gets burned and both surrounding targets and allies get blinded. Lian rarely uses this unless she absolutely has to. Uses 3 cartridges.

-Defensive:
Tri-Shield: A triangular shield is made, protecting the user from any attacking coming in the direction where he/she casted it. Lian's variant of this spell can cover her entire body at the cost of weakened defense.

-Restriction:
Leitungbindung (Wire Bind): Small, almost invisible wires are used to bind a target. Easy to break, the bind's strength are numbers and versatility. Lian uses this the most in conjunction with her Device, usually binding it and her hands to manipulate her Device, like a puppeteer.


Trivia:
-She likes to build things and make upgrades to her Device blindfolded. If anyone asked, she claims to be "just remembering."
-She seems to favor being with Arvis the most; it's anyone's guess as to why.
-Sometimes, she can be heard muttering schematics, parts, things like that.
-She's also restless, never able to stay put for some time. It's probable that her time on Shan's transport ship made her like that.

Background:

Beros was born on a planet a great distance from Mid Childa by the name of Barbaroi, a desert planet with few settlements save for the vast capital the "Crystal City" a city spanning the length of most continents. His family was, for lack of a better description, average. His father worked for the TSAB's regional office on the planet as an archivist, while his mother was content to stay at home and look after domestic life. Beros grew up with his sister, attending school and studying like every other kid in the city. He bacame especially interested in the old Belkan magic and began a little at a time pushing out his other studies in order to learn more of the powerful if outdated Belkan. When Beros was fourteen a terrorist attack on the Crystal Cities TSAB headquaters killed his sister as well as seriously injuring his father. In a rage Beros set out into the desert after the terrorists armed with, the still experimental prototype weapon, Sleipnir which he and his father had been building.

For three days he chased through the wastes, unable to catch them, and now too far from home to turn back he eventually collapsed and blacked out. Sometime later he came round to find himself lying in the shadow of a strange woman he had never seen before. As an instant reaction he activated Sleipnir pushing himself from the sand in a rising arc, the blade aimed for the womans exposed torso. Sleipnir's basica form was that of a straight bladed sword, unlike the curved khopesh and scimitar swords of his world and was unique in so much as the entire length of hte blade was carved with runes, Sleipnir's core was located in an amber gemstone set in the crossguard. In a flash however the woman brought up her own blade parrying Sleipnir, he blade, a long straight, single bladed weapon was not too disimillar from his own.

Vaulting back he activated his Barrier Jacket for the first time taking in his opponent, she was older than him by some years, maybe in her mid twenties with pink tinged heir kept tidy in a ponytail. Her armour was not too different from his either, a long coat covering essentially civilian clothers with armoured boots and gauntlets.

Recalling his studies he summoned his Belkan emblem beneth him its amber glow totally outshined by the oppressive desert sun. Summoning wat strength he had left he commanded Sleipnir, saluting his opponent in the old Belkan way, he used his most unstable move Hyper Impulse, imediately he shot towards his foe, who merely saluted back.

It was over in an instant, he flew at her with all his strength, as he closed in her device expended a cartridge and wreathed itself in flames. At the moment he was about to connect she swatted him aside easily. He bounced once, hard, before coming to rest in one of the dunes a good fifty feet away. He looked up to see the woman walking towards him before he blacked out again.

When he awoke he was in a cell. Charged with assaulting a member of the TSAB as well as possible additional charges of terrorism. The trial lasted from 2 weeks before it was finally decided that he was not a member of the terrorist cell and that he had mistaken the TSAB operative for one of the terrorists when he had attacked her. The woman, he learned was named Signum, and had petitioned for the assault charges not to go to the courts.

As he left the court on the final day, Signum, who he now seen many times in the courthouse, met him outside, placing a firm hand on his shoulder simply said "You I like. Will you come with me?" he followed obediently where he was taken to a coastal facility where he was introduced to the legendary Nanoha Takamachi and Hayate Yagami. It seemed Section Six had been reborn but in a covert guise for some new mission. He was quickly introduced to his teamate Amalia, And his Sub Commander, a young appearing girl named Cinque. He was informed that his squad commander would be Signum and his team designation would be Flare 1.

That was five years ago...


*In case anyones wondering yes it is that Cinque, the cyborg with Rumble Detonator, in the campaign im running, to sum it up, Jail and the remaining numbers loyal to him escaped, and when the others, who by then had been released would not rejoin him, sent his new creations which ive dubbed Manequins(Think sinister looking dressmakers manakins with weapons) to attack them. In desperation they sought out Nanoha who, pulling some strings got the old Section Six back together except that they took in new recruits and Signum and Vita were given there own teams. The team my players are going to be assigned to is captained by Deici and seconded by Wendi, Ginga and Sister Schach have also been roped into the new section six and are subcommanding Lightning and Stars respectively*

Her piercing gaze over the city refused to let up. As she looked out, she couldn't see, but instead felt, the presence of evil. It was infusing the world, she thought, and only her, as the only person on this planet that could stop it, would soon have to leave the shelter of the city and persue the rest of the root of that evil; the Jewel Seeds.

But that'd be kind of hard to explain... well, it'd be really hard to explain. The girl could just imagine her widowed father, at the thought of his only, dear daughter, not even out of high school, going off to fight evil. Part of him would be proud, but there'd be that part of him incessantly worrying, constantly, over the state of his daughter's condition. Although they didn't act like it sometimes, the two did get along well, and some would probably say that during their more playful moments their relationship could border on inappropriate.

There were her friends, too, that she had to worry about. There were only three of them, but they were the only ones she really needed. Only one of them knew about what she was doing, and that friend had been the most caring, supportive person in the world to her (even if she didn't exactly agree with it). She'd even go so far as to say she almost loved the other girl, but she'd never bring herself to actually say it. Instead, the girl decided that she'd continue what she was doing.

The girl assumed a crouch as she lost herself in her own thoughts. Her mind swirled with thoughts of the past, present, and future, and what she would do. There were Seeds all over Earth, not just here. This had happened once before, and not too long ago at that, but the people who had saved the Earth before needed their rest. Besides, they were just children, and her? She was almost an adult.

A cold wind touched her eyes as it caused her hair to flow. She looked down, at the city streets below, as she pondered. She wasn't adverse to this kind of thing - certainly a part of her welcomed it - but she was admittedly afraid of how to do things. When the time comes for her to strike out on her own to save the world, the girl pondered, could she handle it? Or was she doomed to wander the world as something of a dark hero? The brooding type?

The girl immediately shook the thought from her brain - she was no brooding type! That wasn't who she was, and she would be damned before she started! Besides, she had a reputation as being the Fleet-Footed Hero, the Blue Angel! She was a heroine now! Newscasters from around the world would scan the city just for a glimpse of her! Sure, she was no Tokyo legend, and she didn't have a team, but she had her own city, and her own people to save! Yeah, that's right!

...right?

The phone in the girl's pants pocket suddenly vibrated. That could only be one person. Standing up and backing away from the ledge, she picked up the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"
"Where are you, what are you doing, and why are you doing it?" The voice on the other end asked, annoyed. The girl's lips turned upward.

"I'm somewhere," she said teasingly. "And I'm not doing anything yet, and when I do something, I'll tell ya!"
"You exhaust me, you know that?" The girl on the other end said. "Look, I was just checking up on you, okay? I worry about you now..."

"Oh, you don't have to worry about me!" the longhaired girl said, laughing. "I can take care of myself!"
"Just don't stress your body too much... You're not freakishly powerful like those girls we met..."

"One day, I will be!" The girl boasted confidently. "I will surpass Takamachi Nanoha in strength! Just you watch!"

"...just don't hurt yourself." The other girl said quietly. "...I'll leave the phone on... goodnight..."
"Ja ne,"

The phones clicked off.

[I'm detecting a Jewel Seed signature about a kilometer south of here.] A gem suspended on the end of her cell phone suddenly chirped. Grabbing the gem and pulling it off the phone, and girl looked toward the south.

"What's its power?" she asked the Jewel Seed.

[One rank above ours.]
"Ha, not a problem!" The girl said, her bright green eyes flaring with energy, it seemed. "Let's do this, Aoi!"

[Yes... Konata!]

"Yosh! Henshin!!" Izumi Konata shouted, holding the gem in the air.

[Barrier Jacket, Angel Mode]

As the gem began to emit a bright blue light, Konata grinned and clamped her hand down on the gem. Don't worry about me, Kagamin... I'll be okay.

And maybe I can find out what to do for the future.

" a length of time measurable only in Fractional millionths of a second, ma'am..." Erick confessed, somewhat embarrassed by this obvious, glaring oversight in the mission planning stage

An MMORPG world, but with Rangers as the good guys (duh) and those monsters and minions as the regular mobs/bosses.
One chooses to be the color they want, though some depend on the gender
(male Pink Ranger, lol...)

So it started somehow with the guy (Main Character?) stumbling into the place in the real world where one goes into that MMORPG world.
Seeing how he was bored with his regular life, he gave it a try without knowing the dangerous world he was going to put himself in.

Of course, that guy chose to be a Red Ranger and entered that world, and things were going smoothly, until he found a group of Rangers fighting with each other (PvP?).
There was like, about 3 or 4 other Red Rangers there (with different outfits though) and a couple of Blue Rangers, one of which caught my/the guy's (I don't even know if I was that guy who stumbled into that world ) attention, it was a Red Ranger moving at high speed with drills on his arms and like, rocket powered rollerblades?

So yeah, they were fighting each other when the guy started asking what was going on...guess who was targeted as "fresh meat"?
And even though he was a newbie compared to them, he managed to defend himself quite well (good equip maybe?) that is until a weird bell started ringing.

It seems that bell is like a warning when monsters start attacking or invading some place, and all Rangers must colaborate to defeat them, guess our newbie red was saved by the bell

Along the way they explain that this isn't a game, and that the newbie just stumbled into something he can't get out of easily, that he's stuck there, just like them and the other Rangers around that world.

The newbie takes interest in the twin daggers a Blue Ranger has that are shaped like wings, the dude says they're part of a legendary weapon, but so far, he hasn't had any luck finding the remaining pieces.

The guys meet up with a group of other Rangers to march up againts the incoming army, and it seemed that among them, themost powerful was this white/pink Ranger...who I think is tsundere, seeing as for some reason I can't remember, she kicks the newbie where it hurts

They start crossing a bridge, those old wood ones, yet still very sturdy, the newbie gets fired up and goes ahead, as he gets to the other side he sees somekind of small flattened black and purple lizard, and the newb goes "What the heck is this?"
The others say to kill it quick, but it was too late, that small thing started running and screaming, it seems it was somekind of scout or whatever.

So yeah, those that were still crossing the bridge were in trouble, all thanks to the newb...the fastest ones hurried to the other side, I think the newb was slapped on the back of the head for what he did

Flying monsters started showing up, those with long range weapons started shooting them down, but there were a lot of them, among the Reds there was one who could fly, because of his wing-shaped cape (kinda like Albedo's, but red and white), so he took off and intercepted them while receiving support fire.

At one point, all those who were crossing the bridge were almost through, one of the flying monsters aims at that tsundere, and the newbie jumps in the way and takes the shot on his back, though it seems the damage was reduced due to some shield he had on his back (that he picked up before).
The tsundere asks why he did that, and he just says it was the right thing to do.

Weakened, they leave him with a group who can heal, while they go to the front, to the army on the ground. The flying Red Ranger goes down, but the others keep firing at the flying mobs.
The newbie can't just sit there and watch, so he gets up and heads to the other who are fighting the ground army.

The battlefield was a huge desert with ruins here and there, he joins the battle and starts kicking ass.
The boss shows up, and the drill/rollerblade Red goes at the guy, but gets tossed aside with little effort, the others team up, but the boss goes like, "Thunderstorm!!" massive AoE damage and they get scattered about.
The newb jumps onto the top of a ruined building and jumps at the boss, but gets grabbed on by the neck and thrown into another building, bursting though a few walls.

Though, thanks to that, the finds something buried in the sand...a pair of long swords shaped like wings, one of the missing pieces of the legendary weapon
He grabs them and goes like "Whoaaah!" as he gets a boost of power, he bursts out of the building and starts slicing the monsters in his path, then connects the longswords together making a spear with a blade on each end, charges up and cuts the boss in half, and then does the standard "standing in fround of the explosion" as the boss blows up
The others go, "baka na..."

There was still some flying mobs left, and seeing how his new weapon is shaped like wings, he goes back to the bridge and prepares to wipe them out.
The swords attach to the shield on his back, and he takes a "leap of faith" looking very cool and all, until he starts falling (cue group sweatdrop here).
The Blue Ranger with those twin daggers then says, "You idito, those alone aren't enough!" and throws his daggers at him, they attach to the shield and he starts flying.

After wiping out the flying mobs, he returns to the others, and gives back the daggers to the Blue Ranger, thanking him.
The other Rangers congratulate him and stuff, some say thet he might be the "one". Meanwhile, tsundere is still in tsun-mode and goes away, and one of the Reds is still trying to process what happened here.

That's pretty much it, wierd dream huh? And I don't usually have dreams this vivid

Although they didn't act like it sometimes, the two did get along well, and some would probably say that during their more playful moments their relationship could border on inappropriate.

There were her friends, too, that she had to worry about. There were only three of them, but they were the only ones she really needed. Only one of them knew about what she was doing, and that friend had been the most caring, supportive person in the world to her (even if she didn't exactly agree with it). She'd even go so far as to say she almost loved the other girl, but she'd never bring herself to actually say it. Instead, the girl decided that she'd continue what she was doing.

The girl assumed a crouch as she lost herself in her own thoughts. Her mind swirled with thoughts of the past, present, and future, and what she would do. There were Seeds all over Earth, not just here. This had happened once before, and not too long ago at that, but the people who had saved the Earth before needed their rest. Besides, they were just children, and her? She was almost an adult.

A cold wind touched her eyes as it caused her hair to flow. She looked down, at the city streets below, as she pondered. She wasn't adverse to this kind of thing - certainly a part of her welcomed it - but she was admittedly afraid of how to do things. When the time comes for her to strike out on her own to save the world, the girl pondered, could she handle it? Or was she doomed to wander the world as something of a dark hero? The brooding type?

The girl immediately shook the thought from her brain - she was no brooding type! That wasn't who she was, and she would be damned before she started! Besides, she had a reputation as being the Fleet-Footed Hero, the Blue Angel! She was a heroine now! Newscasters from around the world would scan the city just for a glimpse of her! Sure, she was no Tokyo legend, and she didn't have a team, but she had her own city, and her own people to save! Yeah, that's right!

...right?

The phone in the girl's pants pocket suddenly vibrated. That could only be one person. Standing up and backing away from the ledge, she picked up the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"
"Where are you, what are you doing, and why are you doing it?" The voice on the other end asked, annoyed. The girl's lips turned upward.

"I'm somewhere," she said teasingly. "And I'm not doing anything yet, and when I do something, I'll tell ya!"
"You exhaust me, you know that?" The girl on the other end said. "Look, I was just checking up on you, okay? I worry about you now..."

"Oh, you don't have to worry about me!" the longhaired girl said, laughing. "I can take care of myself!"

The phones clicked off.

[I'm detecting a Jewel Seed signature about a kilometer south of here.] A gem suspended on the end of her cell phone suddenly chirped. Grabbing the gem and pulling it off the phone, and girl looked toward the south.

"What's its power?" she asked the Jewel Seed.

[One rank above ours.]
"Ha, not a problem!" The girl said, her bright green eyes flaring with energy, it seemed. "Let's do this, Aoi!"

[Yes... Konata!]

"Yosh! Henshin!!" Izumi Konata shouted, holding the gem in the air.

[Barrier Jacket, Angel Mode]

As the gem began to emit a bright blue light, Konata grinned and clamped her hand down on the gem. Don't worry about me, Kagamin... I'll be okay.

And maybe I can find out what to do for the future.

An MMORPG world, but with Rangers as the good guys (duh) and those monsters and minions as the regular mobs/bosses.
One chooses to be the color they want, though some depend on the gender
(male Pink Ranger, lol...)

So it started somehow with the guy (Main Character?) stumbling into the place in the real world where one goes into that MMORPG world.
Seeing how he was bored with his regular life, he gave it a try without knowing the dangerous world he was going to put himself in.

Of course, that guy chose to be a Red Ranger and entered that world, and things were going smoothly, until he found a group of Rangers fighting with each other (PvP?).
There was like, about 3 or 4 other Red Rangers there (with different outfits though) and a couple of Blue Rangers, one of which caught my/the guy's (I don't even know if I was that guy who stumbled into that world ) attention, it was a Red Ranger moving at high speed with drills on his arms and like, rocket powered rollerblades?

So yeah, they were fighting each other when the guy started asking what was going on...guess who was targeted as "fresh meat"?
And even though he was a newbie compared to them, he managed to defend himself quite well (good equip maybe?) that is until a weird bell started ringing.

It seems that bell is like a warning when monsters start attacking or invading some place, and all Rangers must colaborate to defeat them, guess our newbie red was saved by the bell

Along the way they explain that this isn't a game, and that the newbie just stumbled into something he can't get out of easily, that he's stuck there, just like them and the other Rangers around that world.

The newbie takes interest in the twin daggers a Blue Ranger has that are shaped like wings, the dude says they're part of a legendary weapon, but so far, he hasn't had any luck finding the remaining pieces.

It's nearly 4am over here so I'll fix any glaring mistakes and edit as appropriate later in the morning.

Very interesting, to succinctly summarize, what with the grudging commensalism between Jail and Katrina, and the conversation between the Herald with Quint and Megane. Flawless fusion of storyline between CC and OC, too. And her skills prove to be almost exactly what I think that it should be, since the Lost Logia is insanely powerful and not every device is suitable to handle it.

Though, at times like this, one could almost want to help poor, confused Katrina. Even though she acts tough and brutal, I'm rather sure that she has been suffering inside. While reading people's minds is advantageous, you can get lost in the depths of other people's emotions. Perhaps meeting a kindred spirit who has gone through the same suffering, such as Leona, would help. Anyway, Leona does have the power to help her, though Asgard cannot be used under normal circumstances. And most probably, she doesn't exist there.

And very nice combination of ice and fire elemental magicks, though you took some that I already have in mind, namely Fimbulvetr and Muspelheim. Still, like Aaron, I dread what happens when she does have her hand on Mastame and the Grimoire ... Solar Supernova, perhaps?

And actually, I'm sort of thinking how is she going to be able to produce an AMF. As far as any of us know, AMF degrades magical links, making magic totally useless. If Katrina is going to "cast" it (I don't know), then she herself is going to be rendered helpless in magic, too, no? Drones can emit AMF indefinitely because they are not capable of magic, but mages? Hmm ...

Another SWEETNESS overload! Maren and Koji are certainly having some nice, emotionally electrifying moments there, I could almost hear the air sizzle. I'm sure "that night" would end up awesome, unless some untimely accidents happen again (which almost always do, unfortunately, when we're nearing the climax).
