Some of you probably saw the poster yesterday. On today, the first teaser trailer is here:

Tom Hardy really has that natural menacing presence. It should be good.

Best of luck to Tom Hardy. I'm sure he'll give it his best effort.

But a great actor can't really salvage a bad movie. Initial expectation is that this is a rushed cash-in while Spider-Man is still appearing in MCU movies. And it's Sony. It'll be a pleasant surprise if they don't mess this up.

That was a pretty generic trailer. Remove that shot of Venom and change the name of the movie, and I wouldn't even know that this is a comic book based movie.

Hasn't this been in the works since either Spiderman 3 or Amazing Spiderman 1? I feel like all they likely did to the script was change it from those old Spiderman actors to the current one and call it a day.

Saw the movie. It was mediocre. Imagine if people, who made a Death Note movie, decided to make a Parasyte move. Granted, it's better than critics claim it to be, but it doesn't make it good. Just meh. Aside from the ending. It was a complete mess.

Although if they'll make a sequel, I'll probably watch it because of

More seriously, Venom is kind of a dork in this film. After the first act it goes from a semi-horror flick to a dark action comedy. The relationship between Eddie Brock and Venom is disturbing and funny in the weirdest ways possible. That dynamic happens enough after the first act to carry the story through uninteresting villains and a love interest with no chemistry. Certainly a good time, no alcohol required...on a rainy day
