the anime seems to jump genres for some episodes, suddenly from gag comedy, to a serious tearjerker wannabe(not that well executed though)
personally i like both genres, there are certain series that do this quite well like clannad.

but i will still give this a 8, because of the gags, they use, some characters from lucky star, director that got fired from kyoani, the mangaka herself, it's quite hard to find such kind of comedy mixed with series themes, at i think so. so i really enjoyed the series

The manga itself has this "integration" problem (that the author explicitly admits she's having trouble with). This is probably the most oft generated complaint --- the gear switching is too discomforting.
Nonetheless... the anime is still an amazing piece of animation, voice acting, and a lot of great moments even if the stitching is rough.

Also I'll add: I'm really hooked by the animation of the hair of the characters, just so flawless imo.

5cm/second probably is the best animated anime that I've seen.

Voice Actors: 8-10
None of my favs were there but they did a good job. :3

Script: 7-10
It got confusing sometimes. Or boring.

Soundtrack: 10-10
The OP and ED were both very good.

Editing: 8-10
meh.
Enjoyment: 8-10
It was pretty good but it was made into one of those anime that's kind of "must watch" so I expected better.

Emotional Involvement: 6-10
The only sad part for me was with the little cat.

Overall it was a good anime. But if missed it's not the end of the world.

I cannot believe I still haven't posted on this thread.

The series overall are one of my favorite, if not the top.
It includes humor the way that you can pop laughing, romance on a secret way and even drama.

For me, not including how the season ended without a true finish, Kannagi is a perfect anime.
I don't know if the issue was money to stop the story just when it got interesting once again, but I'll leave it as it is.

The 12 episodes and an OVA were simply amazing and I can give this show a 10/10 without a slightest worry.
