mature manga (not 18+) help

I'm looking for a manga containing an adult or full grown protagonist. please no manga with half ass teenager as the main character like Deadman Wonderland or Rave Master.

any manga similar to Berserk, Bastard!!, Chunchu, Amon, Homunculus, GTO or Beelzebub would do greatly.

thank you all kindly for any suggestions =]

Hellsing
Crying Freeman
Gokusen
Hotman
Kongou Banchou (he's a teenager, but... LOL. not my favorite manga, but I had to post it in response to "full grown protagonist")

Crying Freeman was badass. Already know all the ones you listed. Wasn't a big fan of Gokusen.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Perhaps Dragon Head, Nijigahara Holograph, Historie (really epic in an understated sort of way), or Vinland Saga?

Edit for being oh-so-blind: Ah, never mind, you were looking for adult protagonists, which is not exactly what I recced. Still good, mature reads though, if you're interested.

Dragon Head is pretty good. I actually own some of the volumes.

I don't mind teen protagonists, but maybe a manga with someone who's a bit strong will like Oga from Beelzebub, or Seiji from Midori no Hibi. =]

Thank you all for the suggestions so far!

Seconding Liar Game and Until Death Do Us Part, adding Vampire Juuji-kai to the list (also known as Record of a Fallen vampire), it's pretty deep...on the other hand, if you liked Beelzebub, be sure to check out Gintama. Not that either of them is mature, but it might suit your taste...

Currently reading Until death do us part. Gintama, I'm not too fond of it.

I'll check out the rest of course.

Thank you!

I actually asked for this exact kind of manga or anime in another thread, and I was suggested Shin Angyo Onshi, a manhwa. I personally greatly enjoyed it. it's a dark fantasy action with elements of Korean history. The protagonist is Munsu, who is yes, an adult. He's a pretty great character, and the story builds up nicely towards the climax. Just don't get put off by the episodic beginning.

You can read/watch Monster, it's great. Pluto from Naoki Urasawa is cool too (you have 20th century boys but protagonists are kids/adults, it depends...).

i know your not really after a high school main character but you should try Gantz.

reason im saying this is because after i read berserk someone recommended Gantz and i fell in love with it.

Berserk is one of my top favorites, but Gantz is one of my worst on the bottom list.

nothing against the manga, just doesn't do it for me. =]

thank you for your suggestion though. <3

Then Vinland Saga and Historie it is for you! XD Blade of the Immortal's got one gruff, jaded adult main character as well, so you might want to check that out.

Oh Kyou Kara Ore Wa is good. I'm currently reading that as well, including all the GTO related series and Kamen Teacher.

Anymore would be much appreciated!
