I read on wikipedia that there are "international copyright problems" with Macross Frontier that prevent it from being imported to the USA. Can we have a thread on that? Does anyone have info on that?

God I hope it's not true. I bet it is. But hopefully it can be resolved easily.

I'm afraid that it's very much true. Tsuchiro has it right, and you can post whatever questions you have about the mess in the linked thread. The upshoot of everything is that the Macross franchise suffers from possibly the most intractable licensing tangles affecting any anime (other than maybe Candy Candy). It may be some time (or never) before Macross Frontier hits R1 land.

Starting with "The Salute: Both or One?" and contining with
"Macross Frontier: Homages to Past Macrosses", it's clear that the second choice is just an extension of the first one.
Who really think there will be a discussion about the homage to Minmei like with the doll ?
Who really thinks people will talk about by example the landing made by Hiakru , which was the perfect copy of Alto's one ?
People said in the 25 thread that the idea of denying ,the salute was just for Sheryl is silly and even talked about trolling and pure shipping.
I do not know why now people want to discuss about it since they clearly claim there wasn't any meaning for that.
I just notice I 'm speaking but my opinion doesn't count here

But I couldn't help myself, and just wanted to say it.

Hmm, great! I'll start working on it I suppose. I was actually planning to list scenes of clear homages and characters involved... possibly any significance as to how the past homage steered Frontier. I'll repost here when I'm finished.

The Salute would probably be too narrow a topic, but I think an MF homages to past Macross would be fun. There are lots of little bits throughout the show, not just the salute.

I have to agree with Twilight, if you don't like it Seifall you can just not visit the thread. At least it might clean up the 25 thread a bit anyway.
