AFAIK there's no mention of this change anywhere. Even then, why would they undo a name change they've done before? When it was first released in the game, the M36 was named "Slugger", then they changed it to "Jackson" a few patches later.

Ahh I saw the name on wotdb.info, the trees are already updated for 8.5. So I assumed the name was changed. I guess after all this time they forgot to change the name.

It sounds to me they're the same gun but the developers created a variation (with basically the same designation) for gameplay reasoning. It can't be that right?

I'm assuming it's in the same league as the "Heavy Tank" designation of the VK3601 in the official tech tree images then: something Wargaming forgot to change while making their diagrams.

To be fair they are planning to change the VK 36.01 to a heavy tank.

Anyway guys make sure to change your passwords, the database have been compromised. On the EU servers you will even get 300 gold if you do so.

Nope you have to go through the captcha. It's pretty much protocol by now, but it's a minor thing. Why are you having trouble? Logging in via a phone?
