True, but given Kyrie's self-proclaimed envy of Asumu, it seems pretty inlikely.

If Rudolph sired Battler with a woman other than Asumu and Kyrie and the mom gave Battler to Asumu, however, or someone helped to swap baby Battler for a stillborn child of Asumu's, we're back in the territory Horatio needs to be introduced to.

In the game Battler states: "Battler Ushiromiya was born from Asumu Ushiromiya"

so there has to be a 'Battler' born from Asumu. Unless they decided to name the girl Battler

Isn't there supposedly another way that Battler can be read in japanese or something. If not, then you could just as easily swap out girl with sickly boy who seemed as if he would soon die. Instead of growing up to be Shannon, in this case, it'd be Kanon.

Edit: Actually, you might even be able to include Jessica as an alternative considering that her and Battler are around the same age and her mom and dad were having trouble conceiving. This might also put Rudolph and/or Kyrie as an accomplish as well if either of them learnt about this "deal" between them and Asumu.

Another way to read "戦人" is "Sento"... the kanji means "fighting person/war person/soldier" so... yeah, not a very traditionally feminine name.

Well Tohru is a more unisex name than Battler I wouldn't surprised it being used on a girl, but Battler on the other hand..

I'm not 100% sure but wasn't it mentioned that Kyrie's child was stillborn, which would make it pretty obvious if a switch took place.

The problem with this is that it only works in a written format. But as far as the story goes the red text is automatically generated as people "speak". So when Battler says that Battler Ushiromiya was born from Asumu he uses the "Batora" pronounce.

Again, The chances of a child swap are highly unlikely. So, there is no way that two women would willingly swap their children. Kyrie had Ange. So, that also lowers the chance of a child swap since Kyrie already had a child from six years ago. The truth is that Battler simply doesn't exist, since he himself doesn't have a mother for which he is born.

You know, it's kind of impolite to use red for your theories. A few people do it, but it really ought to just be reserved for in-game red.

Its because I'm a demon that I have knack for these things really. I can't find myself to use the blue, its too subjective and makes me feel mortal. I don't like it. I know to you its better to reserver for the game, but I can't help it, especially when what I say is the truth.
