It was all misplaced feeling towards his brother and a warped sense of reality, probably induced by their mother (we know she did that to Shion just because he was weaker than the rest of the family at magic......which could mean he was a beast at magic when compared to the rest of the world).
Faust never came across as a serious antagonist to Shion, he just seemed the level-boss of the arc that would make the story progress further down and reveal some things; with that said, his image as a total scumbag wouldn't be very smart to put on someone from Shion's family.

uh, this is another fork in the road for the manga - the author obviously chooses a road that can lead to a premature but reasonable ending, or if the manga should continue it'll give the story more depth
i'm hoping for the latter, fuck kurogane yo

I agree, these developments could've possibly been arcs in themselves but now it seems as if everything's being condensed. Perhaps it's preparation to beat the clock? Better than forcing an ending in the middle of an arc due to being axed.

Volume 6 has sold all the printed copies and japanese readers are demanding more. Perhaps it might be still safe, who knows.

The total number of copies sold for the first 5 volumes amounts to over 250 thousand.

Not like this means it's safe but hey.

That is not true.

Nobody on twitter or 2ch has commented on volume 6 being sold out anywhere and all major online retailers are having no issues with stock. It also hasn't been listed for a reprint on Shueisha's website.

I think you might have confused Magico with Haikyuu!! and Pajama na Kanojo.
