Lucky Star characters (with the Hiiragi twins topping the charts) followed by Nanoha is to be expected, though.

Somehow, I'm really not surprised Ranka is getting extreme attention. She's powerful in my view, but any powerful character needs to still pay heed to Brackets Luck and the Hate Knife. If the circumstances and luck line up favourably though, Ranka is worthy of reaching the Top 8 or higher.

@Psieye: The way things are going, Ranka might be the one that makes her brackets unlucky for other characters.

Yes, Ranka is a powerhouse. I don't recommend a character to be 'worthy of Top 8 or higher' unless they have extremely solid stats. However, there are always other titans out there against whom the outcome depends quite substantially on luck of the day.

I count 31 different Lucky Star nominations. I don't know who they all are since I was only able to pick out the series name.

I did a list once of how many I though would be nominated...I believe I have 25 on the list, including the cameos from Haruhi. There must be more than I thought (maybe they added the Air cameo and background pictures?)

I get 24 maximun on that list that are in the anime. Add in the cameos I caught (voice actors included) is 29. Figurine Mikuru could be 30 and 31 could be a number of background images of other characters or the help at Animate.

It's not so much KyoAni fanboyage in Japan as Lucky Star is our bible, and its characters are gods kind of thing among the otaku over there.

And speaking of which, how do we think Rei and Asuka will do?
Evangelion's legendary renown is more legendary than Macross, even though it hasn't been around as long.
