TA end that way & Tomoya deserves it since he chooses Tomoyo. Nagisa must curse him for sure.

A game that's only 60 minutes of playing time to beat? (That's not very pleasant T_T).

I always thought that Planetarian would work better as an hour or 90 minute movie. Is 30 minutes really that long to build up proper tension and emotion? An hour would be best.

Tomoyo After would work best as a 6 episode series. Maybe 12 at the most, Like AIR.

Quote:
Looking back on why Planetarian made more impression to me, the (lack of) silver lining from a world already ablazed and people made broken, coupled with a bitter aftertaste of space-age naiveté, followed with the definition of humanity itself and completed with that neverending dream of reaching for the stars sealed the deal for me.
That's what I liked about it too. "This is the world after the great war. It's crap. Humanity is slowly dying. We deal with it."
It is what it is, a tragic KEY story transplanted into a dystopian environment.

my main issue is that with tomoyo after, I want them to do tomoyo arc from clannad and combine it with tomoyo after so that it actually makes sense, instead of just making it a spinoff from clannad s1, if that makes any sense? because in clannad s1
Spoiler for jsut to be safe:

I can not compare Clannad to Tomoyo After. Clannad is KEY's writing to the highest level taking the other universe, theme, emotional stories and combing them. It was like ONE, Kanon and AIR lead to the creation of it.

While Tomoyo After isn't set with magical themes at all. It is a more realistic approach. I admire it for the story that it is and the message it has. Which is why I don't think Clannad should end without the proper end or they would be too similiar. The whole purpose of Clannad needed to have what it did to create the ending.

Tomoyo After took what it hads to craete

I wonder if they would go for the more open-ended PS2 version (and the non-h versions of certain scenes it has) compared to the PC edition, if they do animate Tomoyo After?

You know what I'd like to see?

The same story, but without the Clannad characters. They could act the damn same, but be different characters, and the story at its core would still work.

It'd be just a story about a young couple and their hardships, then. Which would probably sell better in theaters. Maybe.

But 30 minutes? That could work but it's a little hard to believe that planetarian, a game that took me 5 hours to finish, is going to be shrunk into 30 minutes. At least make it 45 minutes!!

i think it would be nice if they did this, or heck, they could most likely even make maybe a 10 ep OVA of it. (maybe longer).

Really i've only read the manga so im not sure how long the game is, but i can see the manga being made into a 10 or so ep ova.

but the movie works 2 ^_^

That's impossible, I mean it'd be awesome but... ><

I can't be made to care about Tomoyo After, but out of everything I freaking want Planetarian.

And I will go so far as to claim the possibility that it will be one of the greatest OVA's ever made.

Jesus shit, reading this makes me want to go nowhere near TA, especially since I've had enough of people getting shit on and I absolutely love Tomoyo.

No Ushio in Tomoyo After
Also from what I can tell, no "magical realism".

I love Ushio, but I love Tomoyo more, and no magical realism sounds great.

Except it'll probably lead to more depressing shit.

Yaaaaaaay Key.

I'm playing the first release of the Little Busters patch right now, and everything SEEMS happy, but you know it's going to get very depressing very quickly.

This is Key. You can never escape it.

Hmm... she's Tomo, a character from the game, but I guess proper talk about TA plot and characters would have to take place in the Tomoyo After thread, and not here.
