It's a manga adaptation where the focus is Ais and the Loki Familia.

It's like a side story series by the author, it focuses on Ais and her Familia, the characters are interesting and so is the plot for the most part but I can't stand the constant whining, yuribait and cute girls doing cute things bullshit so I dropped it. It's called "Sword Oratoria" I"m sure you can find it with the usual methods or by checking your sources give it a try but don't worry if you decide to drop it you won't be missing much.

It's a light novel first that got a manga adaptation. The preview of volume 4 and one of the illustrations in that volume has already been posted in the previous page. The illustrator is Haimura Kiyotaka from the Toaru Index series.

I see. Can anyone link me to translations of those novels? Only the main series is licesoned so hopefully that's not a problem.

The novel is not translated, I have only found the prologue of volume 1 in English.

Because it's boring like hell if you're actually interested in main story and not into neverending slice of life.

Sword Oratoria is more SoL than the main story? From the Manga adaption, I haven't gotten that impression...

By the way, given what I've been reading in the Manga adaption of the main story, is it safe to assume that the Anime adaption (despite being 3 episodes per Novel) is going quite faithful?

It's pretty boring and not worth the effort if you ask me, the manga at least is easy to follow and has nice art but nothing happens ever. The only interesting thing about it are the inner workings of the familia and a couple of the characters but it's mostly forced drama on Kyoani levels and the good parts are far and in between so it's mostly lame filler like situations. There's a reason why no one has picked up the LN's there's no demand for it since the manga is good enough. Plus, even though I do like the manga for the most part, if you think the story is boring in the manga sometimes the LN will make you wanna gouge out your eyes.

Dude the LN is freaking boring and nothing but fluff, I did a little of self translating and I couldn't stand it so I stopped about half way(thank god the main storyline doesn't have that useless elf chick), the manga does a good job at skipping the useless filer.

Very much so yea, although it seems to be feel a tiny bit rushed, it's still pretty faithful and has good pacing.

ps. Tiona is best girl bar none and Bate is best bro.

I'm going to wait for Kunagisa's opinion on Oratoria.

And talking about (illegal) translators is forbidden. Discuss the content itself.

Speaking of which, new manga chapter of the main story is out(raw of course). Just Bell and Lili taking out some imps and discussing about Lili's Status. Also, kemonomimi Lilli is so cute.

Slice of life? Isn't it more action packed and serious than the main series? Even the summaries give that impression.

Oh really, I thought it would be more like Toaru Kagaku no Railgun that derive from the Index series. But instead Misaka Mikoto, we have Aizu Wallenstein doing her own thing, kicking ass and sometime connect back to the main story.

Maybe Kazuma Kamachi is just better at writing spinoff then Oomori Fujino.

Dude the whole thing is "Look how uber Ais is!" "Forced drama zomg". There's a couple of good fights here and there don't get me wrong the author knows how to write action. But the in between is nauseating sometimes maybe the newer Oratario novel is different I only semi translated the first one for myself and got about half way before I dropped it I can't stand some of the characters the author chooses to include. Ais is awesome so are about 80% of the characters but those 20% are fucking useless drama queens, also, I'm conflicted about Loki don't know whether to like her or hate her.

Thing is the spinoff is ok if the main series is 8/10 the spinoff is 6/10 so I have no real complaints. The thing made me quit reading it and made self translating it tedious was that Ais can't carry the story the supporting cast does a fine job keeping it interesting but Ais is fucking boring with almost zero layers. What you see in the main novels is basically what you get in the spinoff they try to cover it up by making the strongest adventurers act cute and childish and adding forced drama between themselves and mystery and intrigue with other factions but Ais cannot carry the story in my opinion. Basically the opposite of Rail-gun where Oratoria has interesting supporting cast and bland MC Railgun is carried by Mikoto and her main supporting cast is boring.

Episode watched, and now I'm the one who's gonna comment about the adaption, given what I know from the Manga adaption.
And believe me, it's rare the time I manage to ascertain such things by myself...

If this episode can speak for all the previous ones, then it really have a bit of rushed adaption, probably 4 episodes per novel could have made the trick.
There were a few things that were left behind or simply breezed through, like the part Syr was almost panicking about Bell's absence for a couple days or Eina's moments being longer than in the Anime or even the backstory of Soma Familia, which was, pretty much, simply resumed in a few words.

I've been enjoying the adaption a whole lot but now I know, by myself, how the adaption's faring...
Not bad, just the usual, given how the industry has been treating these source materials...

AH!!! Also... Bell just learned, besides Fireball... "SPINDASH"!!! Man, that one was pure gold!!!
