I tend to disagree with it. I think character interactions aren't really working well with this one, mostly because the important stuff is more diluted than usual. Even this last episode that should have been an example of character growth felt extremely flat, IMO, seems characters are not progressing at all.

Is there a term for reverse red herrings (when something is so obvious your first inclination is to think its a red herring but it turns out it actually is so)? Because I think that's what Toei's game is this season.

I did not think Siren was going to be Cure Beat. I thought Waon was to be Cure Beat. Of course, the speculative experience will differ for others; if you thought Siren was always going to be Cure Beat, then I guess you may be right. Regardless, I see Toei moving away from the usual obvious picks.

I thought Siren was Cure Muse until the ep where she transformed into Cure Muse. It's not like I guessed it in a vacuum - they foreshadow to make you think that in scenes such as Siren alone looking up at the moon right after a fight scene involving Muse.

One of my other guesses about Muse (withheld due to spoiler) looks like it could be right. However, I correctly guessed it only by the dartboard method (making a huge number of guesses covering most possibilities).

Also, it's weird for civilians to remain conscious in the wake of the melody of unhappiness. Hibiki's dad Rin has done it before though.

I personally guessed it right - I was expecting a new Cure, but not Cure Muse. Siren/Ellen character arc in this regard is similar to what they did with Eas in Fresh Precure, though I think the uneventful (for me) Fresh Precure handled it better, though I admit that among the general disappointment that Suite Precure has been for me, the Cure Beat reveal arc was surely interesting.

I sort of recall an official-looking Precure design of Waon early in the show's run (widely speculated to be Cure Beat at the time)... Was that an official design, and a red-herring?

I preferred episode 31 to 32. IMO, this show handles its non-plot episodes a lot better than the story ones... and story-wise, all we got in this one was that maybe Muse is going to do something soon... it's about time?

Ah, episode 34 is one I'm definitely looking forward to. Especially if they don't drag things out too much. You know how it is. Sometimes a scene will only take half the episode to happen and other times not happen until the episode is just about over.....

One thing I keep in mind about the Muse arc is that in a sense it got interrupted for the sake of the Seiren arc. That and they probably didn't want Muse distracting too much from the bonding with Ellen stuff.

Note, I'm not complaining about the fact the interruption happened, it probably was for the best. As it did allow us quality Ellen time. Still even I can only wait so long. I've had a strong interest in Muse for awhile and the more I read about things the harder it is to wait.

Heck if Muse turns out the way I'm hoping and such, she'll end up being my favorite of the girls. Potentially anyway.

There are things to wonder about 34+ and I say that because a lot of it depends on pacing. For example, if scene X happens at the half-way point in episode 34 then it's possible to get scene Y in the same episode. However if scene X happens like two minutes before the credits then scene Y would have to happen in 35.

Now then one thing I can say here is this. I hope to heck they use their time wisely and don't pad the next set of events too much. Obviously they're not going to have everything happen in 34.

However I don't want it taking until like episode 45 on the basis that they felt like killing time by having the girls run in circles. They can get back to the fun stuff after they resolve this current arc, not before. In other words serious business time.

That the girls could believe three well-muscled girls from...er...Switzerland(?) would be in need of a jewelry box was part and parcel of the goofiness that comes with the franchise. It's good to see that the girls can use other attacks if they have to. The Suite Symphony Ensemble may be overpoweringly overpowerful, but sometimes you want to sap away at a monster's HP and witness their death a little more slowly... and I'm thinking in RPG terms again. That the little girl tried to stand up for her doll when it was clearly a mindless Negatone was kind of heartwarming, but also kind of dangerous. Precure's MotWs may not be as volatile as Super Hero Time's, but civilians are still advised to keep a safe distance. The end of the episode had Ako returning the Healing Chest after Muse spent most of the episode with it. The show's closer to finally revealing the truth. That Hibiki is Ako's mother. Or maybe I'm thinking of Suzuha.

Spoiler for Episode 32: Finally they started discussing Muse and dropping hints on who might be, after about 20 episodes in which she was as useful as a statue. Crescendo Tone's speech to Muse was pretty much generic but seems to have an impact on her. On the other hand Trio the Minor is just, let's say, painful to watch. I don't mind "funny" minions (see several episodes in Heartcatch Precure!) but the way they're handled really doesn't suit my tastes. Thankfully the "disguise" part lasted very little.

Seiren is genuinely a good person now, but she seems to still have some pride left in her actions - can't be the first to give up! What left me wondering is why they need to unlock crescendo tone power when the black negatones can be handled just fine with berthiers and guitar. Midonin Last Engage Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Florida	Spoiler for Kamen Cure Hibiki 33 - As Good as a Confession From Here: Putting aside that most of the end of the episode dealt with a musical instrument Negatone with some brass balls, the real climax of the episode occurred at the halfway mark. After several months of Hibiki and Kanade's Harmony Power no longer being at risk, they can say it clearly, the reason why they do what they do. Not just for themselves or for their family legacy, but for each other. In a friendly way. A really strong friendly way. A really, really strong friendly way that I want those two to start making out already even if they weren't at that age where romance really comes into the picture because Ouji's been absent for several episodes and at this point it's not like he stands much of a chance and oh wow this is quite the run on sentence. There was also Eren trying to figure out her dream, and it's protecting her new friends. That's pretty sweet. And we got some solo Beat action after a while. (Astro Switch 12, if you're wondering.) Hibiki and Kanade scoring a decent second place in their respective contests was a good move. They've come a long way, but the series isn't over yet. Some dramatic tension is still needed. Speaking of dramatic tension, October is Muse Month, and Mephisto comes back to the human world for his reunion tour. Mephisto and the Beard Gnomes is also a decent name for a rock band.

Next week I expect a decent advancement in plot, since Muse has done basically nothing but standing until now.

Will Muse actually be shown fighting the other three or will it just be talking back and forth? There's also the idea of her just fighting Melody alone. Part of me wants Beat to be the one to give the "speech". You know the one they'll need to give Muse to convince her that if they work together they can save Mephisto and help everyone. I would not be surprised if because of Muse likely being Ako and being the daughter of Mephisto that she might start getting emotional and lose her calm nature.
