Why Utsutsukowashi-hen? I'd expect the other Rei arcs to be more likely.

Also, at least they're doing an Umineko anime. I mean, the story of Higurashi is over now, all they can do right now is an epilogue - which they are. I'm glad they're going to continue the story of Bernkastel, anyway. All we have of her right now is one scene at the end of Kai. It'll be nice to have Umineko so we have more of her.

Plus, Umineko is way creepier than Higurashi ever was.

If the Utsutsu manga was cancelled then somehow it seems unlikely they'd use it. It wasn't nearly as popular as Onisarashi anyway.

Yeah, I could go for an animated Onisarashi-hen. However, my primary concern will always be to have Miotsukushi-hen animated.

I would like it too, but it is more likely than , with the Umineko anime, they w'ill not be doing any other season for Higurashi.

Utsutsukowashi-hen wasn't cancelled, but it seems like it was cut short. It's nothing speical anyway...I rather they stick with the 3 arcs in the Rei disk.

Why Utsu ? Don't mind. But this ova-type... It looks like this will be the "ending of the main story" and nothing else - no side-stories and so on.

All 3 Arcs of Rei ? Are they all worth mentioning, what do you think ?

Well I think its going to be only saikoroshi-hen, since theres going to be only 3 episodes for the OVA if im not mistaken. Maybe they could have done 5 to cover a little more (Also, saikoroshi hen in 3 episodes?! Maybe its going to be another Arc but which one??), Oh well.....I would have liked hirukowashi hen animated, maybe a little not so relevant for the main history but fun.

It was cancelled alright, check out the manga thread.

I guess it was cancelled...didn't really feel like that to me at first since they did release the volume edition, and it did end with "end" at the last page of ch3 (although abit small

). But it was definitely cut off, as there's just no development and just jumped to the conclusion.

Could you please provide a link to that statement? (About it only being 3 eps).

. I rechecked, still there isnt real information about the number of episodes, so we can expect more, but since its going to be an OVA we cant expect more than 5 or 7 right?

Probably. If they were planning on doing 12 to 13 episodes, they could have broadcast it on television. The fact they aren't probably means they're planning on doing significantly fewer episodes than that. My guess is that the OVA will only include Saikoroshi-hen, since that fits much better than any of the other chapters of Rei as a follow up to Matsuribayashi-hen, but I suppose it's possible they'll include other chapters as well.

We've been over this time and time again on the forums, it was never offcially said that Miotsukushi is the true end. Most think it was just a ploy to sell more of the PS2 games.

You also never know when people will actually read the stuff that's on the forums. Stuff that people put a lot of effort into, people who know a lot more, in order to get information to the fans. Who won't read it because it's too long.

I sincerely apologize, it will not happen again. No need to drip with malice. I understand your frustration but try to see it from the point of view of someone who was on a tight schedule and wasn't thinking straight.

i agree with this.. but that doesnt take away from the fact that i would love to see a slightly darker ending, it probably does suit higurashi better.
