Does anyone have any idea how Academy City grew so technologically advanced? I mean, massive budgeting can only get you so far.

Essentially after World War Two, Aleister hogged/enticed a large number of brilliant minds.

Also the Kihara's. And Aliester is pretty smart himself too.

There's also the chance that, similarly to what the real life Aleister claimed, Aiwass provided some guidance.

Well, the Kiharas would count within the "enticed" brilliant minds. I imagine that Gemstones would have worked really great as Kihara lures.

What would happen if someone tried to make a digital copy of a grimoire?

They can't because they'll be hurt before they can even see the grimoire enough to make a copy of it.

Remember that the Grimoires have a mind of their own, I'm not sure if it'll work this way but if they sense that the individual is ill-suited to pass on their knowledge, they wouldn't hesitate in a heartbeat to destroy them.

As for digitally copying it... The information might not get passed at all.

Alternatively, we now have a magical virus grimoire that roams the net that puts up some of its pages here and there, looking for someone that can use it. This is just wild mass guessing however

True but if Etzali's former boss was any indication, Grimoires don't take too kindly to cowards

I wonder if Kakine can use magic. His body is made up of dark matter now so what if he makes a dark matter that avoids those side effects? Alternatively he could make a drone that uses it and then just let the drone blow up.

For the time and effort it would take to learn even a medium level spell for battle, he might as well further perfect his own art.

Agreed. It would be far more beneficial to use his time studying the personal realities of other Espers in order to develop his "Sylar" potential.

Just thought, maybe healing powers aren't just limited to the Magic Side (like Itsuwa's healing spell that didn't work due to Touma's IB, or Elizarina healing Rikou from the Body Crystal's side effects), so I'm interested in knowing the mechanics by which access to healing powers can be made possible for the Science Side.

I remembered somebody saying that another development path to Uiharu's Thermal Hand powers is to change a person's entropy to facilitate and/or speed up his/her body's healing mechanism. This fits Uiharu's personality better, though it doesn't mean she has to be a healer-type. As stated several times before, her potential powers at higher Esper levels is Temperature Change, allowing her to become the first known esper to wield two types of elemental powers (Fire and Ice).

Rikou doesn't really count atm since she's actually more of a Buffer-type Esper than a Healer-type, though it could be possible that Rikou could turn into a full-fledged "Cleric-type" Esper (heal + buff/debuff due to increase/decrease in power levels).

Also, I have a weird feeling that the #6 Level 5 is a Healer-type Esper.

H-huh? That's it? No esper powers involving instant or regenerative healing like that in the Magic Side? Then that would be too bad if Science side people get badly injured in the heat of battle. The Magic Side? Put hands over patient = healed = back to battle.

But hey, at least that's the only way to heal Touma, on whom supernatural healing methods won't work.

It doesn't look like Healing magic is common at all so it's not like casting [rejuvenate] and you're done.

When's the last time you've seen a character use magic to heal in battle?

Exactly under what "scientific" principle can we do "instant or regenerative healing"?
