Touko's dragonform being weak... Do note that Touko's right hand haven't been cut off here, hence limited power and still stuck in physical form instead of spiritual invisible herald of DOOM and Armageddon.

By the way, this might lower the high but... did I ever explicitly state "This character is dead"? They fall down, they stop moving... but in no way they are dead =P
Mikoto in flashback and Kakine here isn't dead... yet. I've played the same trick on LO already in this chapter, thought it would have been found out by now ^^;

I'll admit this is just ass-pull in a sense for Kakine, keeping him for fridge possibility later on. Accel pulped Kakine in LN canon and the fridge was still available as a option.

Mikoto on the other hand... oh, I have plans alright. Heartrending plans where being one-hit-killed by Acqua might have been a mercy - for BOTH Touko and Mikoto. Mikoto lived through that encounter, but make no mistake that was in anyway a good thing. I have (had? temporal narrative and all) a Bad End in the making here, and I take a perverse pleasure in breaking Touko in her backstory.

I'm tempted to throw in fem!Accel's backstory next chapter too. Drama and pain, let them flow

...What does a female Accel look like?

I know Acqua was kinda a douche in their first meeting in canon, but doing something crueler than death seems...out of character for him. Is there a reason for that?
Somehow, I expected Touma to pop up and punch the dragon head on. Still, you know after that she can't say she's a Level 2.

That pic is basically what inspired my version of Accel.

I never said Acqua is the one directly responsible for 'fate worse than death'... only that being OHK would be a mercy. It's arguable he was sort of responsible, yes, but he didn't cause needless suffering by his own hands like in canon. The 'worse than death' part came after Acqua's defeat, and the one directly responsible wasn't on the Magic Side.
Wait a few chapters, I'll put that flashback in a chapter eventually.

And one where WORST and Touma go on a date!

All of them look great even though the 1st one irks me for having Touma blocking Mikoto's railgun....in front of civilians....in a room!

Actually, before people suggested that Touma popping up to save the day the idea never occurred to me

Upon inspection however, I still wouldn't have got Touma on the scene because:

1)Touma's stuck in a hospital - how the heck can he make it onto the fight in time? He's not Hamazura, he can't just hijack a motorbike and burst in like a Big Damn Hero >.> Walking speed isn't going to cut it here.

2)That's just ass-pull IMO, having Touma show up out of nowhere. Vol15 didn't have Touma in that version of events, I don't see how adding him there will make it better. LO at least was mentioned to have ran off earlier (but still nearby) before she got in to stop Accel in canon.

I don't want to restrict people though... Maybe keep it simple like write whatever the hell you want as long as it's romantic?

Though I can't deny that writing Touma/Mikoto would have an obvious advantage over a lesser pairing...
