Spoiler for High School Chapter 9:

- Kakifly knows to service the fans every now and then. That cover. Those assets. That Okuda-san...

- The infamous "Moe Moe Kyun" episode (that drove anyone thinking this would be the second coming of Beck far and away*) is finally back! And with possibly the biggest villa of all villas!

- If in university we have Ritsu without her headband, then in high school we have Okuda-san without her glasses. And in her swimsuit. ♥

- I guess its the location. After all these chapters of being grumpy, Azusa finally returns to Kohai mode. She really has too many openings this chapter.

- And theres music development as well. New vocal! New song! Azusa really is a polar opposite to Yui when it comes to music.

- Okuda-san is scary!! Out of all the newly introduced characters in both manga, Okuda-san is far and away my favorite. And it just so happens her character doesn't quite fall so neatly into a pigeon hole in the corner of the otaku database.

So what do we learn this chapter?

a. The villa the Wakaba Girls visit is the largest seaside villa that the Kotobukis own.

b. Azusa fries easily. But we've already seen that in both anime seasons and the first two volumes.

c. Apparently Jun can't be bothered to memorize lyrics, Nao really can't sing, while Ui apparently sounds mechanical when she does. That leaves Azusa, who needs prompting from everyone to even accept.

d. So what the others here observed was right! Nao being quiet in the previous chapters was because she was studying her clubmates closely.

I'm kind of disappointed that there was no intersection of the HS and Uni sides of the story, especially at the most obvious place (Mugi's villas).

I read that part as more or less Ui trying to say: "I don't want you to call me a robot because of my fast learning abilities." Ui is a little too humble at times, I think- remember how she said that Yui was "much more reliable and mature" than her? I guess looking back, Ui was always a person of selflessness and humility- always putting others first, which definitely can be seen with her taking care of Yui for all those years. Considering Ui's talents though, she may become a vocalist later, whether she wants to or not (i.e. similar to Yui and Mio both interchangeably being lead vocalists in HTT).

Nao once again demonstrates her knowledge absorbing and studying abilities. She would definitely make a good psychologist if she ever decided to go down that path.

Azusa seems to be the kind of person that never backs down from a challenge, dealing with things head-on when forced to. (I think we saw this in the anime as well)

Perhaps the older four are too busy with studying to hold a summer camp? Or maybe they have gone to another villa? Or maybe even the university's facilities are good enough for music practice? I guess we'll have to find out next chapter...

Perhaps this is a glimpse of what would happen had Nodoka-chan joined K-ON instead of Student Council. Except with less 'mysterious aura' and more hugging from Yui.

It seems that Sawako is actually acting like a teacher for once this time around. Now that I think about it, this is the first summer training camp Sawa-chan fully took part in: She wasn't the club advisor yet on the first one, she said 'no' on the second one (regretted it and later changed her mind), and got ditched by her real friends and so took the students on the summer festival on the third one.

I'm a bit surprised at Sumire's authority, since she could borrow her mistress's villa.
Poor Azusa although she's now the club president, she's still treated the same as when she was with her seniors love how everyone teased her

And she'll be the vocalist alright~ her bad singing really didn't close the opportunity of her to be one

So.. Sawako's similarities with her students are her worry about weight, ghosts, and also skin tanning? but she didn't get a tan back in S2 anime (natsu rock fest episode).

Oh, and I also think this is the first time we see Nao-chan's smile

Yeah, I also felt the same. The HS part made so many reference to the seniors, while in the university manga, I think there's no reference to their juniors after all?

I didn't get that Ui would be "mechanical" sounding. They called her a robot because she took the maximum level of her Hirasawa Instant-Learning Perk and, as such, tends to be really good at things really, really quickly. So Ui would sing, Ui would turn out to be fantastic at it, and be subjected to another round of remarks, and potential stalking by Nao for the crime of being too perfect.

I think its the fact that tanning age's a person, which is something she don't want. Also I believe she used sun block when she went the concert festival . I like the advice Sawako gives in this chapter.

Actually, looking at the panel....Ui's doing about the same thing Yui did when Ritsu was trying to decide who would sing (since Mio clearly rejected the idea of singing). Though Ui bring Ui and not "Pick Me! I'll do it....how do I do that, again?" Yui, Ui may be embarrassed about the idea more than not being able to do it.

Is Okuda a criminal level singer? Murder by the sound of her singing? (like Azumaga's Yomi)

Sumire looks both embarrassed and overwhelmed by the idea of singing and drumming.

Jun is Jun...she can't be bothered with doing stuff.

Azusa will be pressed into service...because she is the President (her ego is so easily controlled by the others).

But id Mugi is trying to distance herself from her family, then she'd probably rather not use the Yacht and do something normal.

That is, if college follows standard high school summer vacation time....I know that I had courses almost every summer in college.
