It was inspired by one of my old desktops from February 2007 I found when browsing trough my old HDD:

Somehow I miss the good old Sidebar and a cluttered desktop full with icons.... and my old 4:3 1152x864 CRT monitor...

I'm sure this has been asked before, but where is a good place to get started with desktop customization? Not so much interested in the icon conversion, more the docking and media player embedding.

You may want to take a look here for information on customizing windows, also go here if you're interested in a nifty mac-like dock system.

Another great addition is the rainmeter and rainlendar.
You can easily find skins for both by googling them, as well as just making your own if you know how.

Blame Vexx for this one, that long-standing avatar of Tomoko from Canvas 2 made me do this simply because Tomoko in the avy was too much to resist. ^^

my newly changed desktop it seems then

edit: I was wondering if anyone knew this is there also an addon with winstep that allows WMP to minimize to your taskbar?
normally I use that function and now it seems to just vanish whenever I minimize WMP
edit2: NM I just shut down the taskbar thingy

Names of the players themselves are winamp, rainmeter, and rocketdock for icons. If you look throughout the thread you should be able to find most skins that go with them.
