sort of unfair to 2004 considering it isn't over yet, it would be better to ask best anime of 2003. but i'll pick my favs from both years.
2004 1) 2x2 = Shinobuden - This is the most hularious thing i've seen since Puni Puni Poemi. 2) Samurai Champloo - all around, just a great series. 3) Mezzo DSA - not as good as the movie, but it was suprisingly better than i though it would be. 4) Madlax - I'm a sucker for the music and the theme. 5) Jubei-chan 2 - not nearly as good as the original, but 2004 hasn't pulled alot of animes i've liked so far. 2003 1) Air Master - I was pretty addicted to this one.... 2) Fullmetal Alchemist - I loved how dark this one turned out, this was very close, but i liked air master slightly better 3) Narutaru - I couldn't stop smiling for like 3 hour after see all those child killings, this was hella close too, but it was just too short in comparison 4) Wolf's Rain - beatiful show to watch for the art alone 5) ROD TV - fun to watch |

Top 5 anime shown this year so far (in no particular order even tho i numbered them):
1) Full Metal Alchemist (really is #1) - no comment needed 2) Melody of Oblivion - great music and very strange plot.. 3) Re: Cutey Honey (yah yah i kno there's only one ep out and it's not even subbed yet, but even raw it's hilarious) 4)Samurai Champloo - just lots of fun and great style 5)Kyou Kara Maou - yah it's a mindless and very corny fantasy show, but you gotta love the shounen-ai insinuation |

wow, alot of CRAP came out in 2004 huh.
All my faves aren't even in the 2004 list. And so many others. Seems to me everyones all about champloo and Samurai 7. dissapointing if you ask me. Champloo's good but it's been done. I'm probably just not far enough. I don't know, maye I just have bad taste- but here's some of my faves. I don't even know what's 2004 and what's not but let me know if im off. Naruto-this doesnt count? Fumoffu- I think this was 03 but 03 was being included. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien Full Metal Alchemist- c'mon 40+ episodes give it it's respect. I have other faves but i'm completly sure there older than 2004 anyways, I'm going to check out Monster since one guy was all crazy about it, some of the other stuff all the names just blend in and look alike. and Love Hina is still the greatest damn thing ever made. |

Sorry for sounding so crazy about Monster. But this is definetely an anime that will remain as a classic, no doubt about it. Here is the reason why I think in that way.

From Suki's list there only have like 1-8 so sorry I canceled the dl cuz Azureus is really making me mad. I was going combined sped of easily over 100KB/s with my last 5 dls and these batch of 5 are now doing.....12.8kb/s I had to make sacrifices, and what seemed like a good yet uh completed series had to be cutt. 78 episodes I believe for that one? I wish they made bigger sets. Anyways, I got Madlax, Just haven't gotten around to watching it, I enjoy good Music so I'll get it. But I'm still a proud owner of Love Hina. To this day, I think my top faves would be Naruto Love Hina Fumoffu Boys Be and OMG Tenjou Tenge is really shaping up into a plot driven story! The plot from like 1-8/9ish is nothing compared to the last 3-4 episodes. This Might be shaping up to be one of the best of 04. |

whoa- stop that, you're hyping Monster/setting me up for a dissapointment and making Madlax seem like a waiste of time. Did you not like Madlax? If that's what happened that would solve everything. I will get Monster so no reason to really get negative about it. I just want to wait till I can get an entire batch of atleast 24. I really can't stand following an incomplete series because of the week or so wait in between episodes. So you didn't like Madlax then? So far, I've liked it, after your comment though, is Madlax really that bad? |

you mean Madlax? Well was just REALLY caught off gaurd how bad he made it seem. Does everyone agree that Monster is "100x better" than Madlax? So for others that have watch both, how do they compare? Either way, I looked around and the only set I could find was 1-8. Soldats seem to be getting alot of seeds on their singles. 78 seeds on a 4 day old episode. moral of the story is, I decided to get it now instead of waiting. but the question still itching me for those that have watched both Madlax and Monster, does one pale in comparison to the other?. I already know what Sugetsu thinks. |

SC is liscenced, but the DVDs won't be released for at least a year.
I'm not patient enough to wait, but I will buy them. I also love MADLAX. It's slow in the first few episodes, but keep watching it!! FMA and Naruto are both a given, but you probably already know that. SC is my favourite, though.. good music, characters, and action.. What else do you expect from Watanabe-sensei, though? |

i dont know if ya can compare monster and madlax.
from the way madlax is going it looks like its gonna be a overhwelming flow of fast episodes. madlax is alot like noir, which isnt bad, it just compares that way for now. that may change tho in the next 6 episodes i have to see of the series. as for monster, i havent personally seen anything like it. it through a twist at me on episode 17. it is good to watch tho, ya just have to bare with it. id recommend both series. course i am currently following 18 series. sigh i need more anime. wish i could speak japanese and live in japan, id have my fix fufilled. |
