184-107 Sayaka. So not only did she get back the votes she lost, she still built on that lead and is up by even more. She might pass 272 the way she's going.

Triple R, Coldlight and ion, a question for you Mikiists: what do you think of a Kyouko-Sayaka final?

Also, I think this might be strategic voting by the Goddess voters, and maybe some Watashi voters.

If Sayaka holds on to win this match, I am rooting for it. An all-yuri final? I definitely would love that.

We would call this the "And I'm Home" Classic.

It is more fitting to have a "And I'm Home" finals than a "My Very Best Friend (Madoka/Sayaka)" one since we've seen this back in 2011.

That, my good sir, is my dream final. It has been my dream Final Match since 2011.

I still have the bonus Saimoe poster pic the animesaimoe.org guys never used but prepared for that possibility.

Sayaka has cracked 200. It's a done deal. She's facing Watashi next. All we're awaiting is the score.

Much as I don't want to see Sayaka use her sword to [censored] Mamicita, this has to be a good time to see her finally win a Top 8 match. Just a few more minutes to go...

A swift sword-wielder, and a girl famous for losing her head. Was there any doubt how it was going to end?

A few minutes to go and it's 221-119 Sayaka. Jesus H. Christ...guillotines are overrated. Say "Ohayo" to mahou shoujo style beheadings!

I'm glad to see Sayaka advance. Actually I'm surprised how happy and excited I am!

I'm really split on who to support between her and Watashi. It may depend on who wins in Madoka vs. Kyouko.

And I'm starting to think Madoka might not be the winner. It seemed almost inevitable, but now a Kyouko-Sayaka final looks very possible.

So now Madoka goes from stopping an OreImo bid to trying to stop an "And I'm Home" bid. Being a goddess is suffering.

Sayaka: Sorry, Mami, but I'm finishing on top this time.

Spoiler for *cue Miracle Gliders by Eri Kitamura*:

The student has bested her mentor.

Sayaka faced the biggest challenge yet in her entire Saimoe career head-on... and won. She has just defeated the girl who used to be the vaunted frontrunner for much of the tournament. Now she steps forward further than she ever did before.

...she emerged the victor of the match.

@Triple_R
Spicy, and quite the appropriate (err, inappropriate?) pic for the occasion.

The old trope is that in order to achieve great success, you must eventually defeat your mentor. And today, Sayaka has quite soundly defeated her mentor, and has gained herself a spot in the Final Four!

Spoiler for Victorious Celebration!:

I couldn't find a picture of Sayaka winning an actual fight with Mami, so I felt this was the next best thing, lol.
