Yup, they also announced the 5th season for Symphogear during this weekend. Season 4 + 5 announced for the entire event.

It is unknown when Season 5 will premiere though but it has been announced on Day 2 (today).

Symphogear XV's airing has been delayed from it's originally planned April (Spring) start to a July (Summer) start.

Prologue

Intending to turn the Divine Power against the Gods themselves, the progenitor of humanity Adam Weishaupt was struck down by the Symphogear, transmuted by the Lapis Philosophorum powered by Saint-Germain's ideals.

The secretive Bavarian Illuminati met its end, and the remnants forced into a corner by the actions of various governments.

And— The Illuminati weren't the only ones driven into a corner.

The former superpower America had once again turned its nuclear weapons towards Japan. Facing international criticism, they were forced into solitude on the world stage.

Although they wish for a political solution in order to prevent the embargo from becoming the spark of a new global conflict, conflicting expectations of national parties led only to discord, and progress is nearly non-existent.

Even Japan, one of the countries involved, had sent an appeal to America for a cooperative partnership to mend the broken relationship between the two countries. Despite this, the act began and ended in superficiality and no agreement was ever reached.

The fate of the world is one that no-one can yet see.

Furthermore, the tensions run high at home as well.

From a place where all the city's landmarks could be viewed at once, riding in a gondola on the large Ferris wheel famed as a dating location, were Lydian Private Music Academy students Tachibana Hibki and Kohinata Miku.

The taiyaki they hold in their hands, filled with rice dumplings, are splendid. Without being too sweet, the epitome of red bean paste has no faults to speak of.

Yet even so, as tension runs between them, Miku calmly poses a question to Hibiki.

Sure enough, a question that the answer to which lies only within Hibiki, who is at a loss for words.

The threads of legend weaved in the past converge on XV.

The battle around the Holy Shroud occurs in the dead of summer.

With the bursting lake's surface as their stage, the Girls' voices unleash their radiance.

Interesting... Ogawa brought Miku along, but we haven't seen her since. They'd better be busy outfitting her with her own gear!

Come on, guys, let Genjuro join the battle properly for once. I would have loved to see him beat that thing down.

You know, it's actually pretty cool that they didn't have mass civilian casualties. Usually the deaths of civilians during these events is either overlooked or just given a moment where the girls mourn their inability to save people. Seeing them take the time to rescue people during that battle feels much better.

So now they're weaponizing that bit from AXZ where they threw off their upper armor and sent it to Hibiki? What will they think of next?

Hibiki, don't go setting death flags on other people like that.

That Nana song at the end there is awesome. I mean, yes, all of her songs are awesome, but this one felt especially so, somehow.

A mummified Custodian? I can only see trouble coming from this.

That guy in the Frontier maybe Fine's brother (too bad he died). We will figure out soon what's going on. We see the three main antagonists in episode only observing. They seems to be only interested in the coffin. I have to say that Vanessa is very gaudy when she talks. We finally get to see one of the Custodians.

I hope this season will explore more about Fine and the Custodians.

And we are a go! It's always a given that Symphogear will pull out all the stops for a first episode. But this was just fun. I kind of liked starting off with the fight, going back for context, and then finishing off the fight. Just make this encounter with one of the most armed coffins in history one big event. No need to break it up with two different fights.

Hibiki's transformation...my god. That was one of the most amazing transformations I've ever seen. They just went all out with the visuals and the style points. These can often just lean to being more fanservice, but in this case it was fanservice in an awesome way. That is one of the more badass ways to gear up I could have imagined. Now I'm hyped purely to see the other characters get their moment.

Heck we presumably finally got to meet the guy that Fine was in love with. He died in that scene, but we at least got to meet him. I bet he never imagined she'd end up becoming this immortal priestess that steals the bodies of her descendants. Or that she'd end up creating a moon destroying laser!

Heck Chris' sniper function finally got some use! I mean sure her rifle was busy being combined into that super attack. But she did actually aim her shot and make it count. No thanks to Hibiki trying to throw death flags around...

Things are moving nicely. Everything is tied pretty well to the past season with those three antagonists being survivors of the Illuminati. We've got aliens and we've got potential Hibiki/Miku drama being set up nicely.

I couldn't have asked for much more.
