the problem is that in any such relationship there would be too much inclination for the group to follow one powerful individual. People are not democratic by nature. It's already bad enough with two people, adding more to a more or less fixed relationship just exacerbates the problem.

I meant if either sex wants to have multiple marriages they can do so, although I have to admit, I haven't thought of it as both parties having multiple marriages at the same time, the family relationship chart for the kids must be crazy

I'm guessing that the male is the one with the harem usually since the female takes 9 months to 'reload' while the male takes around 45 mins to a day...
