I'm glad they went in a different direction in the anime.
Those pages make Chikane appear to be a selfish monster... which she may turn out to be, admittedly.

Oh, did they? Happy. I'm tempted to start watching again if so. I have the manga from which Roots's and sarcasteak's images came, and eww...

Anyone knows if any group is working in scanlating the manga?

Where could I find the raws for the manga?

How many volumes long is the manga?

Well, LynnieS, if you're squicked by manga Chikane...

Anime Chikane is like WHOA! Essence of nobility and all that. So noble till I wanna weep... GET HER ALREADY!!! Yeah, I'm rooting for Chikane in this one.

Spoiler for Chikane's character in Ep.5 :

And I don't know if anyone has seen what Chikane is holding on to in her hand at the ending credits???

If you have, doesn't it say something about Chikane/Himeko in the end? At least I hope so!

So where's the flute scene? (in the anime; for the manga, THANK YOU!) Please spell it out for me, cuz i'm an idiot.

According to the manga's timeline, the flute scene occurs about the time Chikane and Himeko were together in episode 5, right?

Just wondering if a DVD version will have the scene, I do so hope.

I don't know where the flute scene is in the manga, but the scans are here a couple of posts up.

It's hard to interpret the OP and ED. There may be a lot of shots of Himeko and Chikane together, what that really means... who knows. They might be really close friends, but lovers? May be. Same goes for Oogami. That's why I like this series, I can't really say for certain that Chikane and Himeko will end up as lovers. My instincts tell me it'll be Chikane in the end. OPs and EDs have a tendency of spoiling any sense of suspense or ambivalence in romance anime, since the end couple is... usually coupled in the OP. Also there's a real leaning towards the "childhood friend" character, or the character who's known the main character the longest. They usually have the greatest chances of ending up with the main character.

In KnM, we have the childhood friend, and right now it looks like he's winning... but I think the tables will be turned soon. I think it'll go back and forth. One may concede in the end, doing it for the welfare of Himeko.

Yes, I understand the Hayase effect all too well. I'm sure we'll get a happy ending and some big cheesy theme of love conquering all.

I wonder when Oogami will fall into a coma with anterograde amnesia and lose to Chikane

Damn, did I love this episode. Exceptionally strong storytelling, and they delivered the few parts which were missing yet.

So there's a manga for this? If someone can give me pointers via PM where to get this from, I'd be very very grateful ^_^

episode 6 is a nice Chikane episode. Personally I find the anime version is better than the manga version, all the characters are fleshed out much better

Oh geez, I wish I hadn't attempted to view those scans while eating my lunch. No flute scene in the anime, how disappointing

That always depends on what your criteria is for good anime. I'm hooked to this show, I was hooked since episode 1.

This anime has shoujo-ai, a little bit of shounen-ai, and also... "traditional" love.
This anime has mecha (but this is not a main aspect of the show, which is good in my case).
This anime has comedy, fanservice, and music that fits the mood.

I'd recommend you give episode 2 a shot at least. It's already getting interesting at episode 6 and beyond, this love triangle, while cliche (then again, everything is cliche these days), is absolutely dazzling.

Go Oogami, go!!

This one's super-campy. If you do mode brain.shutdown() before watching, your appreciation level will jump 300%.

This show's awesome!

I just watched ep6, and liked it a lot. I wonder when we will get to see Himeko's past, especially her dad or whoever it is that grabbed her hair. It also seems that the show is taking more of a mecha, drama, mecha, drama approach instead of a drama + 7 min of mecha approach. Hoping for some good mecha fights next time. And Shenlong, definitely watch this show if you want to pure entertainment. I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw this show, and it has grown on me ever since. This show is not for analyzing, just for pure testosterone rush, hot chicks kissing each other + giants robots beating each other up, what more can you want

And Breogan, how dare you hide the nipple scene from us!!!!
