Just picked up my "Legendary Edition" Halo 3 box this morning, the *almost* lifesize Helmet bust is awsome, ashame it cant be worn though. Played it with my brother in Co-Op for a bit before I had to leave for work. Cant wait to get back home to Finnish the Fight

While I'm no big FPS fan, a lot of my friends are the biggest fans of Halo. They played Halo 1/2 like every week on each others houses, and its no surprise they were really excited about halo 3. They lined up midnight and all for halo 3 and played it first thing they got home. All but one of them were terribly disappointed.
Reasons why I gather are... 'the graphics are more or less basically halo 2' for one, 'there's no freaking in-game music' for another, and 'it's not just fun. I'd rather play warhawk' for yet another. All think it was overhyped. Go figure. I myself can't understand my friends. Heck, give it a week or two, and they'll probably do a 180 and play it every week. >_>

Well, I have to say...Just bloodly brilliant. The Tri-Force of Pure Awesome is almost complete lol. Halo 3 and Bioshock(Both 95% at Gamerankings)...and Mass Effect is soon. Best thing is that is getting the same marketing push as GeoW had.
And one thing I really have to say has been fantastic on MS's side. Marketing Anyways...I will say this is my game of the year.

The complaint for Halo 3 looking like Halo 2 in HD are rather inappropriate considering the scope of the levels in general. Sure the graphics might not seem as uber as some AAA games, but when you realize the scale and everything that is happening at the same time while running a consistent frame rate, it's pretty damn amazing.

I'll have to say it is my game of the year also. I'm one that isn't fussed over graphics too much, I think their ok. The gameplay more than makes up for it for me. Haven't gotten round to Live yet as I have no wireless for it atm. As far as I'm corcerned they did a great job. The small details I don't give a damn about when I'm having this much fun!!!

I'm not great at shooters myself but I'm getting better... slowly. Just how the hell did you all get passed the mob of floods without running away(Cortana Level If I remember correctly)? :| I lose a lot of ammo and have to run pass them in order to survive/live with ammo....

I really hate capitalism in a sense. Look at gamespot's review of this game. They give it a 9.5 while bioshock got 9.0... No freaking way. Halo has always been mediocre when compared to a PC game of the same kind. Half life, system shock, deux ex, unreal tournament, fear, medal of honor... and the list goes on and on. But look at this video review http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/acti...;picks;title;8
Omg how biased can you get? I know they get "benefits" for helping microsoft. But please this feels like watching CNN or any American news and then going on the internet do some research on the same subject and find out that most of the crucial information is missing... why can't we stop manipulating all information? >< |

Well, if I may say so, that's mostly because console games are just more popular. Get over it. What's the difference of .5 in a 10-scale rating system? Virtually nothing.
For instance, whats the difference between a 3.5 and a 4.0? Nothing. They are both crappy games not worthy of note. So, in this case, the subtle differnce of 9.0 and 9.5 is so insignificant as to be nonexistant. Remember that a lot of it is the personal preference of the reviewers, not of the game itself. Reviews are only meant to be a GUIDE, not a be-all end-all decision on which game is best. That is left up to the individual gamer. If you're unhappy with the inherent, unavoidable bias, deal with it. You know what you like, and if the vast majority of people like another game better, that's too bad. (Life goes on.)
