It comes on in less than a half hour here, but I saw the CN preview of it. I'd say it's not that bad.

Kon sounds bad, huh... I don't think he sounded that great in the first place, honestly.

To be honest I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad they kept the name of zanpakutou and also Ichigo's voice actor worked out well.

They should have called them death gods, rather than soul reaper though.
thats because 死神 means death and god.....which sounds cooler too.

Just watched it. And yeah, Kon DOES sound like crap. But the rest is a pretty nice dubbing.

Maybe Kon's voice acting can improve and evolve a bit.

Can't be too sure from just one instance.

In a monotheistic culture, using a term like "death god' is only bound to confuse people (nevermind the fact that the shinigami aren't "gods" in the first place).

And "Soul Reaper" is the official translation in Japan.

BTW, taelmx, you might want to edit your posts before a mod sees them. You shouldn't discuss downloads of licensed anime.

I think Soul Reaper works just fine. Now if they had kept it as Shinigami that would have rocked.

IMO this is the best dub I've seen in a while. Ichigo and Rukia's VA's really got into their characters. Which seems its going to get even better. Hearing Rukia say Zanpakutou in english sounded funny.

They also say "Ichigo Kurosaki" instead of "Kurosaki Ichigo" which really sounded weird to me.

It's technically part of translation, as ANY name in english is written that way regardless of origin, like if a Japanese citizen moved to an english-speaking country... he/she'd have to get used to his/her OWN name written backwards.

It really wasn't that bad aside from Kon everything was ok. I could care less about the weird stuff like whole/plus, and soul reaper was going to be in considering viz got the manga and then the anime. Anyway thank your lucky stars it wasn't given the OP treatment.

That part bugged me because it's so pointless. The term is already in English, and it's what's written on Rukia's drawing.
